I directed this film - and I am also Italian. Nobody said anything about the mafia. There are plenty of people who have guns that are not a part of the mafia!?

This is firstly a comedy, and secondly probably relates more to Italians living outside of Italy, rather than a comment on the Italian culture on the whole. Sorry if you're offended, but this really should only be taken light-heartedly.

We based this film on a joke that we had heard about a million times before, so I put it to you that "Me Myself and Irene" wasn't exactly breaking new ground either, if that's the case. Thanks for stopping by.

The director apparently hasn't seen that film. Anyway, that joke has been used plenty of times before that movie. It's an old gag. It was also used in one of The Naked Gun movies, but he had the wrong delivery room and strangled Nordberg.
