  • Dear Cool, No.."Half A Sixpence"is not based on a story written by H.G.Wells..the stage and screen musical is based upon Mr.Wells semi-autobiography"Kipps".

  • Heavens to Murgatroid! THANKS for posting this! I've only been able to see portions of this 60's wide screen musical on tv over the years. Looks like a very enjoyable picture....due mostly I'm sure to the extreme talents of Mr Steele! And I must say, that young British actress who plays his bride is a VERY beautiful lady! Hubba hubba to the MAX, daddy-o !!! :)

  • I miss movies like this, period pieces with sweet stories and happy-go-lucky songs.

  • @zrz9

I second that emotion! "Feel Good" stories like this are especially needed in the world of today !!! I adore Tommy Steele...he's a real "tour de force" in this vehicle! What a gifted performer! :)

  • I heard this song on BBC radion 2 today... I'm only 16 and i thought it was AMAZING. Really happy song

  • Very nicely put together. Wonderful musical. Beautifully orchestrated.

  • I think most people would be incredulous at the idea of an H G Wells story providing the basis for a musical. He didn't just write science fiction.

  • my FAVORITE film of all time, i love the story and the songs from the film NO 1 film
