  • 51.36kn?! That over 95kph!!

  • Yes and I use the DIGINAV system as a backup...

  • Sure. But can you pack it up and take it home on the roof of your car at the end of the day?!

  • how much does this thing cost

  • unglaublich geile shice :D

  • No wake zone my ass!

  • what was the wind speed? why wouldn't you include that?

  • @kenfo0 In 2009, the world speed sailing record on water was set by a hydrofoil trimaran sailing at 1.71 times the speed of the wind. do the maths

  • @wburzini again, dumbass: i watch a vid like this to learn something. They could have simply listed the wind speed. There is no need for me to go out and get a PhD in sailing to get a simple piece of info. Take your (attempt at) condescending bull and stuff it, jerk.

  • @kenfo0 try getting a PhD in thinking it will change your life. You have the time to write comments but don't have the brains to spend 2,5 seconds of your life to check something up that interests you. Enjoy the video prick

  • it's a flying boat!

  • gotta get one of these before the icecaps melt

  • @darrellwack yes, and stock up on "internet" before gore invents that again too....

  • what is the windspeed to acheive that record?

  • /watch?v=xVxr4HJhsbA

check out my extreme sailing video!!

  • sieben vorschoter xdd

  • Why engines!?...

  • Does anyone remember "Crossbow"?

  • Race it

    ?

  • Andsers - the pro guy at Mistral?

  • Les Francais! Well done, our worthy rivals! :)

  • 大爱

  • Fuck Yeah!

  • Well if you didn't know the principles of flight ; you do now after watching this clip. Amazing..The technology that's coming through today will push the speed record territory through 60 knots very soon!

  • Awesome, but I would have enjoyed to see the transition from zero to top speed.

  • Uncredible fast. You dont mean to be on whater but rail on a railway. I've never seen such a boat before!

  • how fast was the wind blowing?

  • incredible clip!!

  • Looks great fun. But if you hit anything under the water at that speed... time to void bowels.

  • @hamsterminator Or if one of the outriggers snaps when overloaded.

  • this is certainly an impressive sailing invention. how much for one of these "things"

  • Will it go faster downwind flying a giant asymmetrical spinnaker?

  • like a sea plane

  • @bollox05

I've kite boarded, and really you dont get the same wind:speed ratio as with any hydro-foil boat. I've sailed a hydro-foil moth as well, and they are faster in both 10 knots and 35 knots. And considering hydroptere is the world record holder and seems far faster than a moth, I don't think a kite has a chance against it.

  • Whatever theyre trying to do that is a beautiful ship. It must be quite a baby though they were workin hard it seems. Ill have to watch some more of these. I stopped reading about sailing when the Cats started to make it big.

  • SALUDOS: Los dos flotadores tendian que estan bien en proa

    BUEN NORTE.-

  • nise that is fast. wind and solar is the future.

  • That would cut a swimmer right in half :-O

  • Rob Douglas and 9m kite just killed this record (55.65 knots).

  • @ritter1808 An accomplishment no doubt, but he went about 100 meters in a man-made ditch. In many sailors' view that has to be less a feat than 50+ knots on the open water.

  • @LC4Rally that speed was achieved as a 500m average, those are the rules. The true "feat" is that this was done with a $2500 rig vs. a multi-million dollar POS that they have been pouring money into for years. Sebastian and Rob just throw their shit in the car after they are done shattering records.

  • @knieto12 i think the hydroptere is far more impressive than the kite record its a usable boat that can sail in real conditions , the only way a kite gets at all impressive speeds is in a dead flat man made ditch . wait for enough wind and a giant beach ball will beat the kite .

  • @mylexusis True, but after purchasing your kite, board etc, you still have enough money left to buy a house with a private beach, a couple of cars and may a small plane, and you still went faster than Hydroptere......

  • @bollox05

haha go buy a kite and i bet you wont go faster than hydroptere . i do understand your point but they really are different thing

  • kite surf beat you!

  • What was the wind speed?

  • very very cool

  • was that thing going faster than the wind?!!!

  • @phycadelicpotatoduck yeh it was, its called apparent wind :)

  • @phycadelicpotatoduck

you should look up how sailing works ... yes you can go faster than the wind.

  • I consider this the future of transportation.

  • man, imagine having this in water world? lol, you'll be king of the ocean

  • Jesus fucking christ that's intense.

  • I don't get it: You are traveling with almost 100 kph, the speed of wind must be at least 100 kph too!!! Right?Theoretically and practically you can't go faster then a speed of wind. What was the speed of wind?????

  • @alexmanru

the boat can go faster than the wind speed because it isn't pushed by the wind, but rather driven by the difference in pressure on the back and front of the sails, caused by the curved shape.

  • @brukt123 Thanks a lot!But it is unbelievable !'! If it is true, than a wind generator turbine must spin twice faster than wind speed it self.. en-light me please. I am beginner in windsurfing, and I'm not sure if i had experienced that phenomena, I was planning some times, is this a same thing?

  • @alexmanru , check out the Bernoulli Principle, it's simple 6th grade physics.

  • @scratchy996 thatś why it flyes not why its fast

  • 59.09 mph sick

  • Ma come vi permettete di mettere una pupplicita della ENI TESTE DI CAZZO DI YOU TUBE mentre voglio vedere un video sul futuro del mondo a vela

  • @ravohbm Questo e il futuro.

  • Awesome!

  • these things are fucking amazing. I have seen one fly past me in Sydney and they are fucking fast for sailboats!

  • and i thought 16.9 with a jeanneau 49 ds was fast!!!!!!lol!amazing!!!!!!!

  • Awesome engineering!

  • Do you guys now how to taking on cross hold course?

  • Awesome, it looks so smooooooth!

  • Wonderful!

  • 95.1 KPH with no engine is very impressive !!

  • @blueknight2004 yes.
