  • killer tones and lines

  • GERALD KILLS IT LIVE!!!!!!! One of my favorite Saxophone players...

  • my dude!!!! Seen him everytime he came to the NYC/NJ area!!

Never get tired of you brother!GOT ME THROUGH IRAQ!!

  • gerald is he man h is #1 in my book i look up to him

  • I fully agree, DIFFERENT TASTES AND STYLES. THAT IS WHAT MUSIC IS ALL ABOUT.

  • Y'know what, I'm a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Kenny G. in my book happens to be one of the finest saxophonist in the contemporary jazz genre. Of course there are so many that are also worthy of that title. Gerald Albright is without a doubt in the top ten. My number one favorite of all is none other than Paquito D'Rivera, Number two, Richie Cole. Just my two. Then again it really boils down to the all mighty dollar.

  • Gerald is an exceptional saxophonist, he carries a very distinctive voice on the instrument.. One of the finest performers I've ever heard, he is right up there with all the greats, Gato Barbieri, David Sanborn, Kenny G. etc, etc. As I understand Gerald is also a very humble individual, he's just a great all around cat...

  • @Jazzhog I just think it's funny how you can put Kenny G in that list of talented saxophone players.... the only thing Kenny G is great at is making money, just saying.... but Gerald is fantastic

  • WOW! excellent playing!!!

  • grande músico!!!!!!!!!!!!!

também sou saxofonista ,mas vc é o cara

    abração...............do Brasil

  • i played that cannonball today. better than my dads mark 6 so easy to get low bflat and high g first off straight away you must all get one...

    plz

  • what saxophon use gerald albriht please ...thanks

  • @joaohawks25 He uses cannonball saxophones. The saxophone in the video is a stone series.

  • @saxman113896

yh but its gerald albright signature stone series.

  • No gerlad Albright use the Beechler custom jazz Hardrubber/composite mouthpiece for his alto, and a a sugal mouthpiece for his tenor, i met him back in 2008 at jazz alley and i asked him what he uses

  • Alto: Beechler Diamond ebonite mouthpiece

Tenor: Dukoff metal, but more recently switched to a Lawton or Sugal piece (I think Lawton)

    La Voz reeds on both

  • Gerald Albright has a smooth jazz feel, with the chops of a straight ahead player. Always great to hear him play.

  • yeah cannonball saxes, and a beechler custom jazz c95 mouthpiece

  • bechller bellite???

  • Heh, Bluesette.

  • too bad it's smooth jazz

  • What are you talking about Gerald Albright is

every bit as good as charley parker. and news flash traditional Jazz is not the only genera of music played on a saxophone.

  • @GRACIEJIUJITSU100 hahahaha. ur funny little people aren't you. "charley?", "traditional jazz?" (i love early "dixieland" jazz by the way). hahahaha. charlie parker played bebop btw. also comparing this guy to charlie parker, who was basically the most revolutionary and possibly greatest alto saxophonist that ever lived is quite amusing.

  • I M glad i could amuse you, but i am sorry Bro,Gerlad Albright, is A MODERN DAY

Charlie Parker, and i know Charlie Parker played Bebop.... there is not one bad thing you can say about Gerald Albright's playing,if you do you're just jealous. let me ear you play better. Stop living in 1930's and realize there are great Players today

  • @GRACIEJIUJITSU100 lol 1930s. Anyways, I didn't say anything bad about his playing. have fun big boy

  • @GRACIEJIUJITSU100 im right with you bro

  • @stevolight Thank you bro, yeah he is amazing !!!!!!!!

  • Anyone know what mic He is using ?

  • Seems to me he is usen one sure beta 98

  • Gerald !! A warm-up, Gerald? Damn.....awesome !!!LOL

  • he plays cannonball saxes right??

  • yes

  • cara vc é demais

  • estou surpreso !!!!!

    o melhor q ja vi !!!!!

  • Hello!

I'm from Brazil and i can see --> Gerald is = THE BEST!!

    Sanborn+Marienthal+Woods+Hill+All = 1/10 of Albright!!!

  • lets not forget the late great GROVER WASHINGTON JR!!!!....the best to ever touch the stage

  • takilpariu....

  • great player.. great sound... and also a great person with a wonderfull family.. daughter has a great voice...we will hear her soon.. thanks for the great music Gerald

  • i hope to playlike this one day..he very good...one of the best alive

  • Does anyone know what beechler mouthpiece he play on or specific # rubber

  • He plays on the rubber #9. Very open mouthpiece and you must have some serious chops to play with a mouthpiece that open. All Beechler mouhtpieces are great.

  • i use a s5 like kenny g..but damn a 9 holy crap

  • wow, I have a tough time handling a 7 .. I cannot imagine a 9 :)

  • good ol' gerald; he's great

  • The runs are just insane !!!!!! My god Gerald is the best at precision scales.

  • shit, smooth jazz really does pay - look at that watch

  • no disrespect whatsoever christiansaxplyr, but Gerald plays on his own studio model Beechler, he had it made for himself through the company. and in "New Beginnings" and in "Sax For Stax" he's playin on a metal Beechler for tenor. He only plays a Dukoff on his soprano.

  • He plays "Blusette"

  • anyone know what horn is he using?

  • He's playin a Cannon Ball Gerald Albright Signature Series.

  • Very cool...and the last song just happens to be my favorite Luther of all time. You go, brother in law!

  • looove it!

thanks for uploading this, i didnt know Gerald used rubber mouthpiece.

  • Gerald Plays a Beechler "Diamond" rubber mouthpiece on his alto and use to play Dukoff metal on tenor, but I think he's been experimenting with something new lately.

  • This was at his house so may use different equipment when doing a live performance on stage?

But what do I know I am just the video guy!

  • This is not a reguler Beechler "Diamond", but a Beechler Custom Jazz.

  • @christiansaxplyr I don't see the Diamond inlay on his mpc.

  • Ollie,

    What's up! This is Forrest!
