@bobomomo23 - pretty huge wheelbase and somewhat narrow deck. great for straight ahead flat distances but I actually don't feel as confident with DH speed on this as on say a Subsonic Raven or Evo.
On pump setups I run a really loose front truck and not-so-loose rear truck. I don't really recommend the rollsrolls for pumping in general -- we were just goofin around here.
haha yeah, except the truck mounting areas on this board are parallel to the ground, like on a Landy DH race deck. The biggest issue with schlongboards is figuring how much to dewedge the trucks so you can get the trucks to turn well. But I really like the idea of recycling an old park deck for a dropped pusher.
haha oh my that may be the ugliest board ive seen, and useing a board in the rain is fine, ive got a demonseed, i ride in the rain all he time, pretty simple to keep it in good condition...
I commute to work on this for 13 miles and not even get my pants wet. can't do that with my dropped decks. i also own an Evo, Kebbek and RoeRacing dropped decks I've used in the rain and they work fine, but I get pretty soaked.
If your board has layers sandwiched, theres a chance the water comes in through your hole pattern and your board is done. How about mounting the BMW Street Carver on this and fully emphasizing this board's sicknass
I put my trust in the years I've owned 3 of these and riding them through nothing but puddles and rain most of the time :-D Besides, there is no layering in the traditional sense, there's a hollow channel... if it were ever compromised, I'd pop a "drain hole" in it.
The BMW deck would definitely be rain-proof...but it's 20 pounds of metal!!
I'm just messin with you!! The Idea I have is to combine the BMW trucks with the rolls and put regular flywheel 97s or whatever to lock the boards steering to the ground (the stock whees are rounded to roll at an angle to the ground) The outcome would probably the fastest straightbombing board ever which you can ride in any position and have unparralleled control over edging corners and insane drifts. But can the board handle the weight of the machinery?
There are multiple issues with this experiment but the main caution is that the mount areas as-is are fairly restricted to the 4-hole old school bolt pattern, and re-drilling or remounting of any kind would require some serious fiberglass/carbon reworking for reinforcement. The other issue is that mounting something that extends the wheelbase further on this board, puts excess stress on the dropped angles -- and it would crack. Best to stick with under-mounted old school trucks!
same bolts since 2003. that'll be $3 whenever they need replacing. truck axles rust if you neglect them, you coat them with oil...common sense, same with any tools. seriously, if you skate in the Northwest it's going to be wet and you just deal with it.
i use it mostly for rain, the board doesn't take on damage like wood. not too comfortable bombing hills on it, prefer a topmount for that. but its really lightweight, nice speed on flats.
Wow I hate people that think a board is crap because of the way it looks, I can put a freaking chucky chesse sticker on my board and its not gunna change my speed
living in the wet NW, for me the primary benefit are the rain fenders. its also featherweight, and lets you run 97mm wheels while still keeping the deck just a couple inches off the ground. but for serious distance, I've found the all carbon construction to be pretty harsh (vibrations). now rollsrolls makes a wood version of this deck.
subsonic and longboardlarry are a couple other good wood low-rider cruiser boards.
no offence..i know that thing is one expensive longboard..and i've read in sites that this might be the best travel longboard ever..but dude..that thing is ugly as fuck imo.:))
well ugly is subjective, so is 'best'. personally I'd choose a topmount LDP board for long distance travel. steer clear of dogma and marketeering and keep reviews objective, that leads to progress. over the years owning the rolls boards I get maybe 1 out of 10 people say they don't really like its looks, the rest are blown away. now online, you get all kinds of 'expert' opinions. functionally this board incorporated stuff that had never been done before. innovation always gets dissed.
because the wheels on the tike are of a much harder durometer and it lacks a viable steering system at higher speeds. the tike would cost less however.
that i the ugliest board i have ever seen lmao

doesnt look like it would survive if you shot it down a hill and it biffed it on a curb.

@JmChadillonProduct -- gluing on a rubber bumper in front is a good idea. i fried the fender on one of them after a curb slam.

all carbon-kevlar == rain board. the only part that takes on damage are the $10 bearings which you toss after a few months.
