GO AND DONATE TO HER AT HER WEBSITE SO SHE CAN GET A NEW LEG AND CONTINUE HER CAREER. PLEASE GIVE VIA PAYPAL AT BARBARA MORRISON.COM. THIS IS FOR REAL.
At a Hollywood benefit for this great performer Sun nite Al Green appeared out of nowhere, sat down next to her wheelchair and joined Barbara in duet, Let's Stay Together. WOW......doesn't get any better!
Ms. Morrison's tour was organized by John Harkins, the pianist in this video. John is originally from Chicago but moved to NYC in the 70s, spent a few years there playing on 52nd Street, recorded on Blue Note with Warren Vache and Scott Hamilton, studied with Hank Jones (who said "John is the best white piano player in this city."), lived and played in Japan for a few years and moved to Sydney in 1995.
Hoe do I know all this? I'm his father. He's my boy. Damn, I'm lucky.
Love, love, love THIS! Barbara is one of my very very favorite performers of all time, she and I have done many many performances together! More love!
I really enjoyed the scat lesson.
