Hi mate the 450D doesnt have HD mode ........ but the photo Quality i would say is the same as the 500D . So only go for the 500D if you want the HD mode ^^
does the sensor in the camera heat up after prolonged video sessions and does it degrade the picture quality over time because of constant use of the video mode?

maison ikkoku!! can't help thinking they coulda managed 24 or 25fps @1080 but very probably not possible with that model of sensor just yet

I think there is a bios hack that manages 24fps.
At least i wan''t be surprised if Canon comes with an upgrade. If they do, i will run to the store.

there are a lot of softwares (such as After Effect) that allow to change fps number! .... Also in 24fps!
