  • The Republic Pictures film library is now controlled by Paramount Pictures. Artisan Entertainment (now owned by Lions Gate Home Entertainment) continued to use the Republic name, logo, and library under license from Paramount.

  • Don Red Barry made some 29 features for Republic studios during the 40's yet this is the only movie available to buy. Who is sitting on all of those great B-Westerns he made during the 40's at Republic and why won't they release them to the public at large ? This guy was a top 10 movie cowboy.

  • :O Leap of Faith 1:12

  • Don Barry didn't really want to play the RR role because he was too short and looked foolish wearing that big floppy Stetson. Republic prez Herbert Yates said "Do it or else" so Barry took out his frustration on the crew. Bill Witney said he was impossible to work with. Tommy Cook who played Little Beaver was also the actor who did it for radio. Years later Barry tried to cash in on his frame by asking for donations from his old fans to make a new RR series.

  • Wild Bill Elliott was my favorite Red Ryder. He made 16 movies of this charactor. He hadd a catch phrase I still remember. Before every violent scene he would say, "I'm a peacable man." When he said it you knew it ws going to hit the fan so to speak! LOL Berry commited suicide at 68 years of age. Ironically his "little Beaver was Robert Blake who would go on to beat a murder rap in 2001.

  • @downhill240 Yeah, I remember the spisodes at the movie theatre. He used to step out of a large book with Little beaver.
