  • i find this easy to masturbate to

  • What if they're not wearing baggy pants?

  • Doesnt he supposed to hold your arm while doing triangle choke? If yes how it will work?

  • @dlvt79 You have to use your own strength for that. Make sure you're already gripping before you grabs your arm. Don't wait for the choke to sink in before you attempt an escape.

  • @hMpP32 Yes but there is no escape if thereis no triangle choke.Sory for my ignorance but i am beginner in grappling

  • @dlvt79 Wait what are you talking about? Are you asking how will the triangle work or how will the escape work?

  • @hMpP32 Basically the escape will work if the triangle will not work? When u say escape is stopping his technik?Or after do it try to escape?

  • @dlvt79 No I mean the technique is an escape because when you use it you can escape. As the guy in the video shows at the end of the technique you can either go back in his guard or push his legs off and go to side mount. Okay so when the guy tries for a triangle choke you use this technique (A.K.A. escape) to escape his triangle.

  • @hMpP32 ok!Thank you.

  • i'm gonna try using this tommorow for sure

  • why do u say its locked when it isnt locked at all?

  • I will try it in training session of MMA with my mate dressing just shorts.

  • You'd never be able to lift ur head up if bottom guy grabs his own right shin as soon as he locks it..

  • Either tap or escape. I like that. hahaha

  • That triangle choke is not realistic, there is never that much space with an opponent who is experienced.

  • great escape. respect for giving moura the credit for the move.

  • Props for the video, but there are better triangle defenses out there.

  • this is a good escape --ty

  • My neck thanks you, this works freakishly amazing. Been doin it all week on people

  • good shit, now my defence stronger. thank you

  • Hello, I'm just wondering how much of this technique is strength? I think this is definitely doable if he hasn't already shifted to the side to tighten the triangle like its shown in the video... But if he does shift to the side to tighten it would it still be doable as well?

  • you sorta look like a beefier more badass ben stiller hopefully you dont take that the wrong way haha but thanks a lot cant wait to use this escape on bj penn :P this is helpful keep it up

  • nice

  • i love bj.com sounds like my kind of site!

  • Tell your student to put that right leg on your neck! looks sloppy!

  • i think anyone could escape from a triangle like that

  • Is that Ben Stiller?

  • great videos Ken....Thank you

  • I learnt this 10 years ago when I first started

  • He kind of looks like Ben Stiller.

  • thank you

  • a very good escape indeed! thank you ken for sharing to the world!!!

  • i know its only a demo but for a blue belt he put you in a shit triangle choke

  • what if he underhooks the outside arm or has wrist control of the inside arm before you get your grips in?

  • I like it

  • ken all your videos are really helpful everytime im stuck on a positon i come to your youtube channel! haha thanks and keep the great work up!!

  • Awesome gi escape

  • He didn't really have it locked it.can you show one where they have it actually locked in tight.

  • Howcome nobody uses the step over? He could stand up and step over the guy on the bottom with is left leg. His arm and head will pop out.

  • What if the other guy is bigger and has heavy legs, already has the foot locked with his other leg and is pushing you down towards him in a no gi situation? I have a hard time posturing upwards to escape.

  • "Alls Im gonna do" laughed when I heard that.

    I was hoping for No-Gi escape(s)

  • blue belt is grabbing his foot then hes tightening his triangle. he should be grabbing his ankle. at least thats how i was taught.

  • @manarinb i know! why does everyone do that? it makes no sense

  • Comment removed

  • @dcureman123 all the strength and athleticism n the world won't help him if he doesn't know what he's doing my dude.

  • Ken, It doesnt matter if You can beat Mike Tyson or even Bruce Lee on the ground...NEVER ANSWER the question...or, just delete these guys posts afterwards. Shouldnt waste your time with petty stuff like that. Enjoy what you do and keep training.

  • ken would waste tyson, doesnt matter how ATHLETIC or strong ,or god like talent he is..all are the same size when on the ground,,he can resist with all his power, but if his positioning is wrong and lack of knowledge of leverage,it does him no good, anyone that disagrees is a keyboard warrior thats never felt the pressure of brazilian jiu-jitsu..i wont waste anymore of my breath on hopeless posts.

  • @playboyrichards

im not knocking kenny at all but all fights standup good luck taking tysen down itd b way more difficult than u think because since tysen is so athletic and strong he would never b on the ground

  • @freeewaste I agree if he got him to the ground it would be game over for Mike.

  • @freeewaste

    .

    You fool!

    .

I would beat Mike Tyson if I took him down and I only have 2 years of BJJ.

    .

    This aint boxing, you moron!

    .

  • @SunnySide247 even if you took him down you have to know that he is still an athlete and still very strong. Im sure your confidence in beating him would fade as soon as he started resisting your transitions and fighting back.

  • I don't understand how this is suppose to work considering your doing this with triangle choke so loose that it could be considered a top lock and it doesn't seem like the best idea to extend your arm in any way when your in a triangle because if the person has trained BJJ even if it's only for a couple of months one of the first transitions you learn is to transition from a triangle to an armbar or omoplata.

  • I liked more than the regular because with big guys you not always can step over and fall into side control, I cannot see very well in the video but you put your knees under his butt??? Thank;s

  • Thanks for the tip. Couldnt remember quiet how to do this, butI will definitely see if I can use it as my primary escape, assuming as you said, I don't the choke get set too deep.

  • the triangle is not deep to begin with

what happens if the triangle much tighter

  • Seeing you both in that position with you saying: Now he locks is up REAL DEEP okay? made me just laugh. :)

  • Thank you, this is a great escape. Must try it next class!

  • Ken do you think you could beat up Mike Tyson in a fight?

  • @krnaxe probably, if i took him down it would be over.

  • @kenprimo but could you get him down without being caught. He seems liuke he was a street fighter and. I heard he wrestled in high school somewhere.

  • @kenprimo

Tyson in his prime? or Tyson now are two completely different things. I have been training bjj for 8 years as well as wrestling and muay thai for 14 and I ain't stupid enough to think I would want to go face to face with a prime tyson. The guy was a different type of fighter.

  • @kenprimo i dont think so...

  • @TropicalJiujitsu u dont think what

  • @kenprimo i agree with ken mike tyson is overrated and if it stayed on the feet ken would be done but on the ground ken could play with mike like its no problem

  • @youngdrumma Tyson (in his heyday) would completely dominate any fighter in a no holds barred match. It would be like fighting a chimpanzee made insane by taking Xanax. Try it out yourself by fighting a good heavy weight and tell him he can bite.

The fight would go like this: Mike would throw a flurry of punches as the grappler trys to tie up. If not already knocked out, Mike would then immediately commence to savagely mauling the face, taking out the nose, eyes, and throat.

  • @kenprimo but if you take him to the ground he might bight your ear

  • @kenprimo he doesnt understand the concept. ofcourse you would win against mike tyson. in boxing only . NO. but bjj is alot more and mike tyson probably doesnt know anything about grappling and choking and stuff^^

  • @TropicalJiujitsu my money would be on ken if he took him down....iron mike goes sleepy time

  • @TropicalJiujitsu He didn't say standing up..he said if he takes him down. What knowledge does Mike Tyson have of the grappling? Nothing.

  • @TropicalJiujitsu I think every blue belt bjj guy would tap tyson if he got taken down... Take tyson down is another story :p

  • @TropicalJiujitsu Why don't you ask if Ken can beat Superman, Spyderman and Batman in a fight??? This is an instructional BJJ video, so watch and learn.

  • @TropicalJiujitsu he would easily submit tyson if he took him down. that's the question, ken is a great wrestler but tyson has INSANE GRANITE HANDS, he could ko anyone youve ever meet in your life with a few punches, if not just one

  • @TropicalJiujitsu You don't think so? are you stupid? Mike Tyson is a boxer, once hes taken down to the ground, like kenprimo said, its OVER. Once on the ground its all about technique, not strength. Your name has "Jiu Jitsu" in it yet i don't think you know the hard work and training and disciplin it takes to learn jiu jitsu. and just to get out of a submission or passing gaurd or any of that is fucken hard. take some jiu jitsu class or take off the "jiu jitsu" in your name.

  • @simonleeboy91 Tyson was also a HS wresler I believe. So with his strength and power he could probably get up. You see people with minimal grappling get up in MMA against top level BJJ if they jsut focus on defense and getting up instead of ingaging. SO it's def possible for Tyson to win especially witht aht upper cut to punish on the way in and plus streetfight Mike TAyson is crazy.. ... He will bite.

  • @krnaxe Yeah but you also gotta think about the techniques bjj's can use on tyson to make him tap real quick. There are submissions that takes very lil strength and is very quick. Stand up of course Tyson would win but on the ground he will have no idea what to do. And for Tyson wrestling, the only wrestling hes ever done was those "profession" wrestling, aka actors putting on a show for the crowd like WWE or some shit like that. but yeah..Tyson would probably bite off some1's ear on the ground

  • @simonleeboy91 yeah but a real life situation is verrry different people. trust me. its not a jiu jitsu match or an mma fight. people are trying to hurt you. i worked in the prison system,as a bouncer and have been involved in other situations. yeah the jitz has helped tremendously but you still hit, kicked, bit, etc etc..when you deal with people with so much rage in them. its pretty hard to stop em. theres no 3 months to get prepared for a fight. one day to the other shit happens

  • @sequalofdecay lol..no disrespect man but can you actually read my comment first instead of just skimming through it cuz you're talking about something TOTALLY different from what im talking about. like i said once again...i wasnt talking about a street fight situation bro. you just commented on me the first time about street fighting and i told you i wasnt even talking about that, and you bring that shit up again.

  • @simonleeboy91 sorry i was just putting in my two cents about a street fight. not necessarily just aimed at your comment. i replied cuz of your comment but i went on about my own thing. thats why i rambled on about personal experiences. just a quick reply to your comment then just a little bit of my own 2 cents. no disrespect meant at all

  • @simonleeboy91 it was aimed more for other people that read our stuff who seem to think that jiu jitsu makes em invisible. i just hear alot of people talk about how effective jiu jitsu is but have never been involved in any type of real life situation to prove it for themselves

  • @simonleeboy91 and many people that start doin jiu jitz or any other martial art start to believe they are invincible. in one of my altercations i coincidentally ended up getting into it with a fellow martial artist whom i later learned was full of himself. And he picked a fight that he was not gonna win. Martial arts and training for competition does not mean you are ready for a street fight. veerrry different cuz once you are threatening my health and well being I am coming at them alot harder

  • @sequalofdecay yeah but i wasnt talking about street fight. what i was talking about was basically a grappling match. like i said, standing up tyson would most likely win. im not trying to say ppl who learn jiu jitsu could fuck up everyone in a street fight. i have respect for every fighter out there who trains hard and has respect for themselves too.

  • @krnaxe you see nobody with minimal wrestling get up off the ground, they all wrestle for hours every week. Its almost impossible to hit someone on the way in if youve never sparred mma extensiely and have decent wrestling.Tyson never set foot in a high school or any other wrestling room.He made a complete fuck up of his life due to his mental problems and lack of education.

  • @kenprimo

    or even pulled gaurd

  • @kenprimo

probably lose an ear in the process haha

  • @kenprimo He would just rip your ear off with his teeth though. Then it would be over for you.

  • @kenprimo The thing with locks is... If a dude is 3 times your size and much heavier. It's not going to work much...

  • @iOliverful lol 3 times your size? brock lesnar is twice the size of bruce lee, what kind of encounter are you talking about? yes a heavier person as skilled as you are will always be tougher then someone your size with your skill, what are you trying to say you have a better idea if someone 3x your size does that? lol

  • @dukeslaps You're not getting what I said. And comparing Bruce Lee into this is something entirely different, because Bruce doesn't do locks... I'm saying, if you try to choke a guy like that 3 times your size, he will for example, just lift you and smash you. Putting a huge striker up against a grappler your striker is going to win...

  • @iOliverful dude i was joking around just saying fighting a guy 3x your size usually doesn't happen i was comparing the fighters sizes not skills, and my whole point was if you got a better escape then post it

  • @iOliverful

Thats what Dan Severn told Royce Gracie.

  • @kenprimo watch your ears while fighting Tyson!

  • @krnaxe i would beat tyson easily IF i took him to the ground

but standing up i got no chance

    boxing sucks big time

it only works on people who know nothing about martial arts

we all saw what cotoure did to toni

i felt sorry for toni really

he just realized how USELESS his boxing is when he faced a true mixed martial artist

  • @krnaxe what a stupid question! how old are u? already passed elementary school?

  • @krnaxe ken would crush Mike Tyson in a fight bjj > boxing

  • I think is very difficult get scape from a triangle when is totally locked

  • if one's showing a triangle choke escape, he should first be in a triangle choke. In this video, I didn't see anyone escape from a choke, I saw an escape from an ATTEMPT of a triangle choke.

  • best escape= vigorously and repeatdly bash onto his testicles with your elbow

  • @WillingToPooNvm I'm sure that would work

  • Hey, thanks man !

  • Brother just want to say this is awesome keep it up i trained for three years and now im kinda on my own but i find new stuff on ur viedoes

  • What about no gi?

  • Hey Kenny i was just wondering if this escape will work if the opponent already has a tight triangle choke put on you. I know the best escape for a triangle is to not get put into one in the first place but let's just say on the rare occasion he does throw one on you will you be able to use this escape before it's too late.

  • ok now i feel prepared to escape from werdum's triangle choke LOL.. i wish.

  • @flamekidnw10 dont get in it

  • @kenprimo its from the fedor vs werdum fight. victory by triangle in the 1st round

  • @flamekidnw10 if your referring to fedor's loss you should know that Werdum didnt really do anything special to get that... fedor screwed himself... if you watch the fight closely you will see that fedor left his arm in between werdums legs while he was punching him.. all your really have to do to escape a triangle.. is like this guy on the video said... get both arms in or both arms out.. which is what fedor didnt do... plus werdum was also using an armbar to control fedor and keep him in

  • @Wrestlefan1 well fight is all about skill and LUCK.

  • @flamekidnw10 that could be true.... but if you have the skill that usually outweighs the luck...

  • @Wrestlefan1 yeah but sometimes as i believe you have seen before some people get rushed for the whole fight and then they come out with a lucky hit and knock out their opponent right there. true storys my friend.

  • Yeah, I agree with ECMarine6. Your doing gods work kenprimo, keep it up!

  • Nice.

  • good video for jujitsu/judo but would you push the ground in a no gi spar?

  • But how do you escape once it's tightly locked in?

  • @azarazar007 once the triangle is fully locked in and the guy has a good angle on the choke your probably going to have to tap. but the hand that is trapped with your head in your choke is the key. while your in the choke you can put the hand that is trapped in the choke with you on your ear or on your head above it. it is called talking on the phone. it will by you some time because you can breath watch travis lutter vs anderson silva. from there you can work escapes.

  • im not tryingto hate on the vid but he doesnt even got that triangle locked in

  • @yamaboy519 lol how is he going to give instruction if the triangle is fully locked in and he can barely breath lol... that wasn't an intelligent comment to be completely honest.

  • Haha, thanks... my nephew tapped me out recently for the first time because I couldnt escape his triangle choke.. but now I know it!

  • That was the first technic I was taught to defend against the triangle. Nice video.

  • not to be a downer, or a complainer, because this was EXTREMELY helpful.

BUT, the way the guy in the blue gi, at 58 seconds, took his arm and grabbed his foot, isn't that basically asking the person to pull out instantly? shouldn't the hand grab the calf muscle and put his forearm against your next? making it harder for the person to pull out? just a suggestion.

  • @depredatewarrior It was for instructional purposes, lighten up!!

  • Ben Stiller!

  • love your stuff ken! I even bought a black mundial gi cuz u look so sharp. im in s.d by the way.

  • I have a question, at 0:51, when your hands are outside, what's to stop him from using his legs to choke you? (I'm a beginner at Bjj so don't mock me if its a stupid question)

  • @MyBass0wnzu because both of your hands are outside of his guard u can just pass into side guard. the most he can really do is clamp down and try to stall, but in reality if u just stack him he wont be able to hold the lock and will be forced to let go.

  • @RAWchokeout nah most bjj guys who have been in the game can lock onto the locked triangle they build a tolerance agaisnt how uncomfortable it is. i can hold onto a fully stacked triangle it may make your breathing a bit harder but it is going to make the guys stacking a lot harder. plus stacking a triangle is asking to get swept then you end up stuck in a mounted triangle. you can get flower sweeps on people when they are stacking. it will work on people with little experience though.

  • @carlsongracieteam well yes thats true for a triangle but he asked about when both or ur arms r freed, what prevents them from just squeezing theyre legs and strangling you, i was just saying that u can easily move into a double underleg pass no matter how hard hey squeeze

  • @RAWchokeout oh sorry bout that yes as long as u suck his hips into you whether he is grabbing with his legs you could easily do a stack pass (double underleg pass). nice point

  • @carlsongracieteam no worries. thats actually one of my personal favorite passes, especially with gi cuz u can grab the lapel and put pressure on his throat better to make him wanna open

  • @RAWchokeout yeah and if he doesnt allow you to pass and defend that choke then you can even submit him from there. i guess that pressure on the neck is kind of like a modified ezekiel choke?

  • @carlsongracieteam eh kinda, ezekiel choke ud be using ur own sleeve. that uses a lapel so if anything itd be closer to a cross choke or just a basic lapel choke. and yea i guess u could tap them from there if they didnt move, but honestly combined with the pressure from stacking theyre weight on their chest and circling around they should easily open, hell the circling puts enough pressure on their legs to force open. u just gotta keep going all the way around. i won a NAGA match like that.

  • @RAWchokeout well the nogi ezekiel utilizes no sleeve. and of course i know the pass lol. guess i should've worded my statement. do you have any traditional training ive been doing bjj for 3 years im a 4 stripe blue hopefully have my purple within 9 months. some of my favorite guards are, de le riva, x-guard, butterfly, turtle guard, spider guard, and i like sweeping from quarter guard although it is pretty risky.

  • @carlsongracieteam yea ive been training for a little bit over a year. just got my blue belt. i love the spider guard too actually. my half guards pretty strong too, i can usually get a hook flip out of it. my overall favorite position is the kata gisame (judo side guard)

  • @RAWchokeout I don't have much expereience with kata gisame maybe i will look into it I need to get a basic idea of every guard possible if i want my purple. they say purple belts know the same techniques as blackbelts. i guess a purple is supposed to be a diamond in the rough version of a black belt. i have a good deep half guard, my favorite guard is a modifed spider guard it is pretty slick i might post some videos of it.

  • @carlsongracieteam yea i like the kata gisame because it is very hard to escape once ur in it. for tournaments its very good, because it allows u to rest somewhat without stalling, and people generally expend a lot of energy trying to escape. very nice submissions from it as well.

  • @RAWchokeout sounds great i am definitely going to look into that guard thanks for the tip man

  • I did this escape!!!!! Oyeah ! Then I got the other dude in a triangel, but i couldnt choke him out.. i raised my hip and press his head down.. maybe i forgot to get his arm to the side enought :(

  • It seems there is a danger of his right arm for an arm bar when he straightens his arms out to create space... but still an interesting escape.. thnx

  • Dissapointed this is a triangle evasion more than an escape, like its good, but id really like to know an escpae from a looked in triangle.

  • There is no real counter to a locked in triangle anymore than there is a counter to getting punched on the jaw. A boxer slips and weaves rather than take it and counter...this is no different The point is that you don't LET them get the hold on - if you do it is already too late!

  • @d1maaa The Magnum Submission.

  • One look?

  • thanks for the video if you have any no gi stuff please post thanks!

  • for no gi variations grab flesh :D

  • cool technic

  • you stole my move!!!! LOL

  • good for gi what about no gi. focus on mma

  • look up the knee pry for the no gi, not sure if you want to use it for mma but it works great

and you might want to look up the sit and pry method

  • @Chinekeh lol @ meathead.

  • Not exactly sure why I am called a meathead but whatever. I look at BJJ like any martial art. I have been focused on Muay Thai for 9 years. I noticed several people I teach and train do BJJ. So I go on youtube and look up holds and positions I have seen on TV (mma fights). Like every kick their is a counter. I assume every hold there is a counter. I just wanted to know the counter to the triangle, the set up, and bait. If that makes me meathead, then I am a meathead in your eyes.

  • This is a "pure" (if there is such a thing) BJJ technique, but you can do a no gi variation if you look closely and substitute hand grips and postings for a gi grip...the principles are the same, just variation in execution

  • i thought it was great man, but wasnt it a weak triangle??

  • yeah, you tap when its tight

  • lol! No doubt! Great Answer!! 5/5 on the vid. Thanks for sharing Ken.

  • @kenprimo Nice reply!!!!

  • @kenprimo I love your response....LOL!!!

  • love it man

  • Where did you train with Robson?

  • at his school in de for 9 months via privates lessons, 2 x per week.

  • i was also a student of ricardo v's (the match I mention) for two months in brazil.

  • good stuff

  • Man I your videos are straight to the point and SIMPLISTIC. Thanks Ken I'll try it as my escape in next class time.

  • thanks brother

  • the video keeps freezing on my so its basically porn.

awesome escape, i always get caught like this.

  • awesome, 5 stars!

  • awesome

  • Nice. Thanks.

  • thanks man i keep getting caught here...now i'm free!!!

  • Thanks I really appreciate the best escapes from any position.
