this game is fucking insane, i finished it on emulator but still it took me a lot of time. in certain places you lost lives like shit, even if there is a saving mode, still it's a tough and a nightmare game. i can't imagine how it could be beaten on NES. one of the best games ever, but one of the hardest as well
