this is a Georgian Jewish man, filled with love to Georgia and her people. he's singing Christian chant written by King Demetre 1st in 12th century to Holy Mother Mary. Great preformance! Bravo!
This is a Georgian national song. It's one of the oldest songs in the world. this person sings realy well, but this song sounds perfect sung by georgian people because this song expresses their nationality and their spirit.
Hello! I'm very happy that this song has been published in UT. But I'm searching the score of the last verse of "Shen har venahi". Have you got it? If you have contact me, please.
Tamar, I don't think that Atsaliuk said that the song is Hebrew. He or she tagged it as Georgian folk song performed by the Hebrew choir. Georgian Jews are one of the proudest people in the world and this performance is excellent as well.
such a beautiful performance, bit fast but still superb. beautiful voice.
generally the only difference between us Georgians and Georgian Jews is that we prey in Georgian Orthodox church and they in Sinagogue. The only nation never trying to steal our land unlike dear Armenian neighbours.
I am sorry but the fact that the song is performed by jews, doesn't mean it is Georgian-jewish. It was written by a Georgian king and is purely Georgian!
Hey tamari11, it's the year 2007! Didn't you know there is such a thing as a Georgian Jew. Of course the song is Georgian for ALL Georgians to sing proudly. Get out of your 15th century mentality. Nu Gatrake ra!!
You don't know who I am, why are you throwing such kind of remarks "15th century mentality". You must know that the georgians were one of very few nations who protected jews during outrages of antisemitism and I totally back this attitude. In your place I would apologize. P.S. do you even know what "Nu gaatrake ra" means, this is really rude.
I wanted to say in my message that the song is GEORGIAN, not Georgian-Jewish Folk Song as described by the person -
"Atsaliuk" who uploaded this (you can read this on the upper right corner of the page). Moreover, the anchor in the video acknowledges this fact saying in Russian that THIS IS ANCIANT GEORGIAN FOLK SONG. I commented because of the DISTORTION of facts by the "Atsaliuk". Of course everyone is welcome to sing that song.
I adore Georgian songs. Хай живе Грузія!

@kkkgiokkk not s, my friend. It was written by Demetre 1st (1093-1156), in 12th century. :) and Shah had nothing to do with him or the song.
