i tear up everytime watching this video or hear a song that reminds me of the military, i thank God everyday what they do for us and what they sacrafice. i went to school with matt and nicole. They are amazing people. always a smile on there face. you will be truely missed by all!! RIP Matt

I cry each and every time I watch this video, Matt was a strong Man and ment so much to so many!!! Not a day goes by that i don't think of him. Catherine has turned into a beautiful little girl and she loves her daddy. She knows that "Daddy fought for everybody in our country and now he in Heaven watchin down on me and waitin for me right beside Jesus" She looks like her daddy and acts alot like him! Matthew Conley and other members of his squad were killed while on security patrol in the province of Al-Anbar.

He was a passenger in the Humvee, training the soldier who was to take his place when he returned home. He was scheduled to leave Iraq on March 6th. Matthew Conley was killed when the vehicle hit an improvised explosive device.

wow... i see these thing and tear up everytime. i knew matthew just for a very breif time. he went to school with my cousin, chris tompkins, and friend, jason isbell. everytime i hear jason's song, "dress blues," i tear up also. i know matthew is deeply missed by many around the area and many others who fought in war with him. he is a true hero in all our eyes. he is in a beeter place now. he is watching over that baby girl making sure she is safe. I grew up in Florence, AL, and was saddened to hear about Matthew. I saw the tribute to him on the ESPN website. I cannot describe how honored I am that he served his country. I have the utmost respect for Matt and his fellow soldiers. Thank you, soldiers, for fighting for our freedom. Matt, although I didn't know you, you will never be forgotten.
