@TKing677 i believe the reason for the ira attacks on british citizens was to convince the british to leave Ireland before anymore casualty's has to happen. And it was the ira that decided to end the war itself once they figured that violence wasent going to push the British out so in a sense they knew the british wasent going to go away and the ira knew there was going to be more innocents killed (both irish and british) so they signed a peace tree to stop the war for both sides.
