Looks like Pep Boys and their scooter supplier, Baja Inc. are finally being penalized for their questionable scooters in the largest Clean Air Act case ever. The complaint alleges that Pep Boys sold over 241,000 illegal vehicles and engines (45 models!). Hopefully this publicity will spark an NHTSA investigation (the Clean Air Act action ignores the safety and road-worthiness of these vehicles.)

The Pep Boys mechanics do not fix scooters period. Now they have the potential to do it and yes a company with 600 locations can probably set up some of the best repair centers in the world they have the money to do it, but right now no big box retailer in the USA does that.

They dont fix what they sell when it comes to Powersports. They dont care to. You can get quality products from China ( Taiwan and Italian Scooter brands come from there now) Just not at Pep Boys.

yeah and all those scooters are shit. i work at one of the stores, and i have seen almost 80% of that shit come back because it does not work. then the best part is you have to send it back to the manufacturer for repairs. do yourself a favor do not buy this shit buy a honda or suzuki if you want a dirt bike. not this china shit.

Ok, I work the other side no big box retailer shows up at an OEM and says I want the best scooter or kart.

They ask ok we want drum instead of disk, we want cheaper mirrors, cheaper packaging, so yes the video is accurate. The big box retailers cut corners.

Show me a 6mm bolt that should be an 8mm. Show me a cracked block that was made from shotty metal. Show us the proof.

This may come as a surprise, but the consumer has no obligation to the retailer. If you want them to PAY YOU a higer price than a big box, YOU have to SHOW them why.

Otherwise you just sound like a guy who can't compete.

I agree with you . I did not hear one thing that makes me want to go to a dealer.Too pay more. He said , yes its a Hammerhead. Its a little less quality, look at the price. Its not going to be the same finish ? Then he says its the same engine. WTF ?

the pep boys that i live by the knew what they were talking about when i got my scooter from them. it depends on the store if they know anything about the scooter.

Well,so far, no problems,myse150 I bought from Joes sports,assured me that they have local numbers for a few repair shops in town that do work on baja motersports products,I only plan to keep my scoot a short time anyway,I plan to get a Honda silverwing touring scooter!!!

I do get a lot of complements on my se150!!!

no parts or service its junk i had to give one away when it quit running exactly one day after warranty ran out 91stday witch didnt matter because nobody will work on them.
