  • Man, I miss Murray...

  • Lmao just like webber

  • Wow he could have wiped out the team management of several teams!

  • And if you press 3 you have Street Fighter Ryu combo

  • Comment removed

  • keep pressing '2'.. its quite funny

  • @TheFowlyetti1 Age of Empires 2?

  • @THEMAN080 pressing a number key takes you to a part of the clip. It just happens that pressing 2 takes you to just before Murray sounds like he's being shot. It might be a bit childish, but its quite amusing.

  • @TheFowlyetti1 The sound is very similar to the sound someone makes when they die in the game :)

  • @THEMAN080 Hahaha! AoE II was awesome =D

  • I thought that was between Prost and Senna... :D Almost like Mark Webber though..

  • happens

  • Hunt hated Patrese with a passion. Hunt has always claimed that Patrese was responsible for Ronnie Petersons death in the 1978 Italian GP due to Patreses reckless driving at the time. Thats why he's sarcastic.

  • Patrese invented a new sport! Motor Basketball!

  • Comment removed

  • What bloody awful judgement from Patrese. What were you thinking, lad?

  • @FrodothePuppet interasting ro see you criticizing f1 driver lol its easy to say "what was he thinking" looking on youtube but when you are in a car going 250kmh or more and on limit its not that easy!!!

  • Even with only 2 wheels left, no rear wing and front wing, it looks amazing

  • The way James Hunt calmly says 'Oh Dear'..... he hated Patrese with a passion!

  • 確かこの時はパトレーゼ怒ってベルガーに「テメー,オレを殺すきか!!」とかいってたはず.ベルガーも謝ったね.

  • Murray Walker : F1's voice.

  • I think Patresse was trying to do a basketball slam dunk with his right front tyre :D

  • Can you imagine Jonathan Legard's reaction to this:

"Oh no! Patrese's gone right up there! That's not what he would have wanted..."

  • @MadGaz85 Ha ha very good comment! Well done.

  • @MadGaz85 Very good! :D

If it were Vettel, Alonso, Webber, Hamilton or Button, he would say "That's crucial for the championship"

  • Red Bull gives you wi... oh, wait, wrong video LOL.

  • @zionravescene - or, as Webber found at Silverstone, Red Bull takes your wings away...

  • That could've been so much worse.

  • 懐かしいね、鉄人パトレーゼ!

    マンセルにはない冷静なドライブは今のトゥルーリだね。

  • Lol Murray "Ahh" Hunt "Oh Dear, Oh Dear" after Murrays like tired xD

  • lol, webber and kovalainen did exactly the same thing today

  • This is from Mansell & Williams 1992 VHS?

  • @djdavedoc Yes it is :)

  • Well, at least the McLaren made it in to the pits alright.

  • He could be the luckiest man alive great cars, beautiful life, beautiful wife and the luck of the Irish to boot. Ricardo Patrese is a god

  • It s similar with Fittipaldi s accident in 1993

  • haha murray... his scream is sounds like a ghost in the background! haha!

  • Different reactions:

    Murray - AAAAAAH!

    James- Oh dear, oh dear

Murray's scream always cracks me up

  • davvero fortunato ad uscire indenne da un incidente di questo tipo, la macchina stava letteralmente prendendo il volo ed e' atterrata sulle ruote posteriori rimettendosi miracolosamente in senso di marcia

  • Wow

    =O

  • So on this mentality it was "satan" who caused the crash, but "god" also happened to be watching over this F1 race too so he could intercept the move. Wpw! This seems to occur regularly in F1! "god" and "satan" must be big fanss!

  • AAAAAAAH!!

    Oh Dear!

    Oh Dear...

    HAHA ;)

  • he cold be DEATH lucky one ! GoD was with him !

  • How exactly was "god" with him? If "god" was with him he wouldn't of had the crash and gone on to win the race.

  • LOL. God doesn't seem to have anything better to do than watch over our F1 heroes...

  • palmares rispettabilissimo nell'era di mansell,prost,senna,piquet (all'inizio lauda).

trovami quanti altri piloti oltre quei 4 hanno fatto meglio di patrese. 1-2 forse. c'è berger credo.

  • Berger, Arnoux, Keke Rosberg...

Ho detto che non era un gran pilota, perchè le auto forti le ha avute, ma in campionato è arrivato una volta secondo e due volte terzo..

  • I remember this one. Berger was going into the pits and lifted off as pattrese was sliptreaming

  • lol at 0:06 ''...aaaaaaaah...'' lol

  • Atleast he scored the goal with his wheel :P

  • Looks like Fittibaldi's crash in Monza

  • Yeah love the difference between the two reactions of Murray an James. You can tell which one used to be a driver themselves.

  • James Hunt had a strong dislike of Patrese, that may also explain his muted reaction to the accident. James never forgave Patrese for a start line crash ( in 1979 I think ) which claimed the life of Ronnie Peterson. James and Ronnie were good friends and he felt Patrese had been responsible for the crash.

I'm not suggesting James wished Patrese dead or anything that extreme, but it might explain his " oh well never mind " reaction to Patrese's accident.

  • 1978. James was one of many drivers who tried to get Ronnie out of his burning car that day. It was a black day for Formula 1 and motorsport in general.

  • Yes, back to Monza 1978 Hunt would blame Patrese as responsible for the crash, but was Hunt itself who collided with the poor swedish Lotus, not Patrese, and this is a fact. Quite easy for the hotheaded british 76 World Champion to charge a fresh deb with that disaster

  • Peterson died because someone fiddled with the medical equipment, not from the crash itself, according to Sid Watkin's book; "Life at the Limit", so none of the drivers were to blame. Shame that Hunt probably still blamed Patrese all the way to James' death in '93.

  • Yes, the crash wasn't deadly, Ronnie came out with a badly broken leg and some other 'minor' issues. The fatal mistake has been done at the hospital, where the doctors decided to operate too soon to reduce main leg fracture, pressed by Ronnie itself and his manager who wanted his driver ready as soon as possible for the end of the season, sadly.

However imo the worst thing remains the doctors misjudgment, and a real shame the general higyenic conditions of the hospital. And I'm italian :(

  • he didn't die bacause of poor sanitary conditions. he died as a result of a fat embalizm because of the fracture and the doctors failing to recognize that.

  • @penske13 - wasn't it a bone marrow embolism?

  • @theeviltwaz you may be right about that. i heard it was a fat embolisim.

  • @penske13 They're essentially the same thing. Bone marrow got into his bloodstream from the multiple fractures which caused fat build up around several organs.

  • yeah.both -patrese and hunt - were involved in peterson accident. James was trying to avoid hitting riccardo when he pushed the poor ronnie into the barriers. that explains why he always had a bad opinion about patrese after 09/78.

  • Listen to Murray he was terrified for a second or two. YYYEEEOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH well let us hope and pray Riccardo Patrese is alright.............................. Love Murray miss him so much

  • Mais quel tâchons ce BERGER !

  • I have to laugh at James Hunt's sarcastic "Oh dear"

  • lol, & murrays reaction was quality, sounded like he had been shot or something

  • unique murray walker !

  • @chlillis

Murray's reaction is priceless. I'm glad no one got injured but I almost fell from my chair laughing at Murray's howl. I replayed many times and laughed for about 5 minutes.

  • you and me both :)

  • Yes interesting. I think Murray would be genuine but James Hunt always wanted Patrese dead and probably got a bit excited here as he thought the time had finally come.

  • Comment removed

  • @cjmillsnun are you implying that james hunt wanted a fellow driver to get hurt or die?

yes we all know the story about monza 78 but i think after 14 years, he was sincere and not sarcastic here

  • @flipsidedogchop Agreed, he was less harsh on Patrese during his later years.

  • @cjmillsnun I don't think that James intended to be sarcastic, not in that circumstance.

  • @tor378a it wouldn't surprise me if he was being sarcastic because James Hunt did not like Ricardo Patrese as he blamed him for causing the crash that killed Ronnie Peterson at the 1978 Italian Grand Prix. Hunt would often make disparaging remarks about Patrese whenever the Italian was on screen.

  • @tor378a yes he did. He couldn't care less.

  • @tor378a I agree, he doesn't sound sarcastic. actually he sounds quite serious to me. that's just how a (upper-class-ish) english accent sounds. maybe some people can't detect that (-;

  • ooo that was close

  • those cockpits look very tiny, doesn't look very safe in them

  • Lucky his car didn't land the other side of the pit wall.

  • Oh man, I know it sounds bad, but I cant stop laughing at Murray's reaction. That 'yeohhhhh'. Man, he should make a comeback.

  • LOL and the "Oh GOD!" when Schumacher and Coulthard collided at Spa in 1998 was hilarious too.

  • haha, yeah i think that was my favourite because Murray was just nattering away about god knows what and then coulthard struck and his reaction was hilarious.

  • ....Gilles Villeneuve....

  • murray, simply the best

  • I started watching F1 in 1992 and this was the first real Big Crash i ever saw. Patrese was very lucky. Cheers for posting basadoni :)

  • i miss old williams. super fast

  • la colpa è di berger che ha svoltato all'improvviso

  • I was 11 when I watched this. So amazing he survived such a crash!

  • I was 7 and this is the first crash I remember from F-1!

  • I have always suspected Berger to lift early or harder than he should have. Saw this happening live too and that was and still is my feeling about it.

Could easily have killed him with his action.

  • berger was coming into the pits, , so naturally he was going to ease off so he could make the entry.

patrese misinterpreted his change of racing line as a defensive move, so followed him to get some decent tow

it was a racing incident, Neither driver was to blame

  • Exactly.

But we might be aware that this kind of crashes are used to cause victims...if Patrese had jumped into the bridge he could have died instanctly as it was the case of Takashi Yokoyama at the Old Fuji Circuit

    watch?v=DKc7fLrDSdw

  • I love Murray's groan on impact, lol he was great.

  • Murray Walker with a heart attack. *lol*

  • The "GUY"?!?! He's the GREAT JAMES HUNT "THE SHUNT"!!!!

  • Lol The Guy In the background going " oh Dear Oh Dear" Sounded Funny but Wow That Was A Big Crash Thank god he's Okay

  • James Hunt and Patrese have "history". Look up Italian GP 1978 and you see why Hunt seemed so...unconcerned.

  • Yep, he never forgave Patrese for that, even though it wasn't really his fault

  • From what i remember, it was Hunt's fault not Patrese's.. but Hunt always blamed Patrese for what happened (maybe to save himself?)

  • I don't know how Patrese could continue racing after seeing something like this. I'd have crapped my pants and had a heart attack. He's one fucking brave driver to continue and still win a few races. He's one of the greatest drivers to have never won the World Championship. I've seen him test driving a 2000 FW car when visiting Williams and still posting some decent lap times. Unbelievable.

  • lol murray walker: "Ooooh you......" i think he was going to swear

  • But it was easier to blame a roocky in 1978 than blame the race director.I saw that gp and from that day on i become one of the many Patrese fans around the world

  • Yeah true

  • television replays and modern investigation have exonerated patrese and, infact, highlighted hunt as a probable culprit. hunt obviously didn't cause the crash that killed peterson on purpose, it was a racing incident, but hunt's subsequent dislike of patrese was almost certainly born out of a guilty conscience.

  • wheeeee!!!!

  • once again murray sums it up perfectly!

  • "Riccardo Patrese should have been banned from formula one after killing Ronnie Peterson."

That's a very ignorant comment. James Hunt blamed Patrese and the mud stuck, even though an inquiry exonerated him completely. The straight narrowed and three into two doesn't go. It was a normal racing accident.

  • This brings back memories. First instinct, Paterese lucky to be alive. Secondly, how he missed the bridge, I'll never know!

  • Dumbass. The two didn't even touch in the accident.

  • Pathetic!! James was just causing controversy

  • why do you say that? Are you oblivious to fact?

Patrese was wrongly blamed for what happened at monza by james hunt until the day he died.

If it was anyone's fault for what happened, it was more hunt's fault, but it wasn't anyones doing, it was a DRIVING incident.

peterson didn't die from the crash, he died from complications brought on from the surgery to save his legs you fool.

This is one of the reasons why I pour scorn on hunt, everyone says he was a gent, he was an opinionated alcoholic

  • Do you know what exactly happen at Italia 78?

The accident is not the fault of Patresse.

The race director put the green when practically nobody have stop on the red light. Then everybody try to go ahead on all that shit, so Patresse force Hunt to go a bit on a side, witch one touch Peterson.

It's more the fault of the race director then Patrese.
