  • Governments should NOT be the ones who are responsible for censoring the Internet BY ANY MEANS! They have their own agendas and this method is not democratic and is open to abuse. The print media has carefully thought-out press codes to regulate harmful media that includes images and content that may be harmful to children. The Internet should clearly have the same Ombudsman to censor and filter harmful content on the web and a press/media code needs to be written up and consistently updated

  • And this is what we should be funding money into a actual police action and force that would get some real results rather then this ill thought out and ineffectual censorship.

  • I will not vote for Labor again. Greens are my guys.

  • When I was a child my parents where responsible enough to make sure I didn't visit sites or look at magazines that I shouldn't be seeing. Parents can buy software that blocks certain websites, so if it's really the children thats the issue isn't this a better solution? Censoring our internet will quite obviously slow it down a lot and we already recieve slower internet than most western countries.

  • I havn't seen one pamphlet or letter from the government informing me on options for protecting my (non existent) children, but this would be a much cheaper and more effective method. Parents just need to know the options they have of protecting their children. Its not up to the government to filter what we see because thats a breach of my and your rights.

It's time for Parents to take responsibility of their children.

  • why cant I comment?
