  • "Diffrent injury, diffrent illness every day..." Maybe recruiting for medics, but not exactly good advertising for any other rating!

  • Cameron twat has knackered the Navy. When I say "Navy" I mean the navy. Like Coke, water, trains. Part of life. The British. Invented a global navy. This chef, losing their jobs. Fuck the cool female PR. Bring back the Home Fleet.

  • To the British people:

You say the word and the Royal Danish navy will be there,

    Even until the end.

  • Loving the PR woman getting all colloquial. "Kip", "shut eye", "24-7".

  • what is with all the music we need to hear the people talking

  • its Charlie Sheen! 4:51

  • If 4:51 wasnt Simon Cowell, he has a twin brother...

  • Simon Cowell at 4.52

  • I don't think that girls should be on Naval ships. If we have separate facilities, there must be less room for the weaponry. We should stay at home and look after the children. Let the men do the war stuff, and let us look after the future heros! Daphne.

  • @tacsandamps if girls want to and are good enough they shud be allowed to for example MA Kate Nesbitt who recieved the military cross for heroism in afghan

  • @dantimmy Yes, quite right. We can be just as brave as men....good point. What about if we had ships that were just for females, and other ships just for men. That would be more efficient, and leave more room for the weaponry. A serious point. Daphne

  • I think you are wrong. Women are just as good as a man can be.

  • does the royal navy have any special forces like the US navy does. or is the royal marines good enough? there pretty bad ass. oh wait the SBS?

  • Can't wait to join the royal navy. Going as an officer hopefully. For now the Sea cadets will do for me :)

  • i am hoping to be a Warfare Specialist in the navy by the end of this year :)

  • me seaman specialist

  • @mikomijay I'm thinking of joining as that, do you enjoy it?

  • @mikomijay do the seaman specialist stay on the ship or do they battle on land to that might be a stupid qestion but i dont know lol

  • @mink08 no. the marines and army battle on the land.

  • @kaine180 Pal, dont be a dabber, (warfare spec) You will get all the shitty duties and be mugged off constantly, trust me, go for a dental assistant, (i forget the name of it now) but you will get like 4 years ashore in a nice cabin of your own with en suit bathroom and a real bed. No crappy duties at sea where you are working your ass off being mugged off still and you only spend about a month at sea. Going to sea in the Royal navy isnt sunbathing and cocktails lol. Make it easy on yourself pal

  • Looks like they have great grub.

  • I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Royal Navy for their efforts in Afghanistan at the minute. It seems to be the whole thing is centred around the Army, but people lets not forget the other people that are out there and will be away for christmas fighting for our way of life.

    Thanks

  • annoying use of stereo audio, and annoying corporate video music. Interesting programme though.

  • is it just me who actualy likes the type 23? lol

  • @massey6663 Nah, I've got a soft spot for the type 23 too

  • looks very claustrophobic and crowded with people.

  • then the navy isn't for you

  • Did she say the engines were in the Bows? haha, thats not correct surely.

  • She said bowels,

  • think she meant bowls as in the bottom not the bow

  • Bowels!!

  • Bowls of the ship.

  • so are what they weiring the royal navys utilities. they are way diffrent than ours, the us navys. we gettn cammies soon so hooya to that!

  • Duke class are still in service at the moment - 13 in the fleet at the moment. They may well be wanting to replace them at some point though.

  • good acting

  • somebody told me at the moment hardly anybody is based on ships and its all ground based operations. SOme people think they will be staying safe on a ships but in reality they will just be joining ground troops in afghanistan.

  • Nice to know what the chiles are doing with it

  • navy opted outta a joint european frigate programe to focus on the daring class. idea is the duke class is gonna be phased out middle of next decade. ive been lucky enough to go onboard a duke class HMS Marlbourough

  • I wish you could hear what they were saying... Awesome vid anyway! ^_^

  • So what happened to this ship? Was it decommissioned due to being out of date or what? Looks pretty awesome to me.

  • November 8th. H.M.S Raleigh. Phase 1 Training. Cant wait. (By the way, loving the drum n bass backing track to this vid!)

  • They don't need to be replaced yet, the last was built only 10 years ago

  • there getting fsc and could be getting the fremm aswell but upgraded

  • this one was commissioned in 1997 and sold to the Chilean Navy in 2007. Must have built too many huh?

13 of these Type 23 frigates are in use at the moment. Along with 4 of the older type 22 frigates and a handful of destroyers.

  • Just be thankful your not on an aircraft carrier as a cook, you will be hating life guranteed.

  • They aren't being replaced - most of the T23 are not that old (mid 90's) so have plenty of life in them.

The ship in this clip however was sold to Chile

  • Oh, and the 23s are a bit more than "very fine" - they're only about the best ASW frigate in the world! I say that without any concession to patriotic feelings or nationalism. Still think the Leanders were better looking, though, and the 22s definitely have the edge in roles requiring comms, elint, datalink, surveillance, etc.

  • Just that individual ship that's out of the fleet. Sold to Chile. The Type 23/Dukes are due to be replaced by the FSC (Future Surface Combatant) programme but not for some time yet. Hull hasn't been decided yet, but it could well be based on the Type 45/Daring form given the cheapness of steel and the success of large frigates like the 22s. Policy now is to build big with room for updates. The lessons of Type 42 Batch 1 (Sheffield) have been learned!

  • We still have them, it's just the ship shown in the clip was sold to the Chilean Navy.

  • Rainhamendgill....we need to talk in blues rock m8......UTG

  • To rainhamendgill........Dont do it brother. Im a gills fan myself......I came out medically 3 years ago. If u do go in , make sure you come out medically !!!. Free money for the rest of ur life lolol. I live in spain now....happy days. But if u wanna meet at blues rock when im back...ill tell u all about it m8. UTG

  • im hoping to an aircraft handler in the navy

  • good luck wiv it, that what im doin, only got 3 months left before raliegh

  • good luck m8

  • hoping 2 be a chef in the navy i cant wait

  • ouch i heard that was one of the worse jobs?

  • same here i love get in as a chef

  • erm...yeah. Don't assume you'll be working on a specific ship, you'll work where you are told to work, be it a minehunter or a carrier, it won't be in your hands. Make sure that you are prepared to do whatever work the Navy tells you to do.

  • i wanna join the royal navy as a chef. maybe upload a video on them? please. lol

    Good video tho! Many Thanks

  • HAHAHA his name was Matt Tew

--> Matt Tew --> Mattew --> Matthew = cruel parents

  • haahahaha, thats funy

  • Nope t

Musafa Peah - MusafaPeah - Must have a pee - fucking cruel ass parents

  • Funny how the MEO suggests at 4:50 that the only compartment to be manned 24 hours is the ships machinery control room. I guess modern ships don't have bridges, ops rooms, comcens, etc.

  • She means when the ships out of routine there will still be one or two people inside the room. This is as far as im aware.

  • Its team building. With your constant winging and moaning, it's a f*cking good job you never applied for the Navy, because you'd be out on your arse by now. I mean for gods sake, get a life... if you don't like / agree with the Navy, thats fine, but why waste countless hours posting comments on nearly every Navy video on youtube? Are you really that bored? Maybe try a hobby or sport, such as football or rugby?

  • i agree wiv u mate ive left a similar comment, when the rn protects this country and there are sad ppl like this guy! check his profile, kid got issues!!!

  • Hmm the first person to talk on this vid is on my ship- CHEWEY!

  • Good vid, well done lads and ladies! Thanks
