i started out when i was about 10, yeah it was effin awesome man, life changing game honestly, brought a lot of fun times to my life since i was more into video games and what not..... man was it hard when i first started..... i was young so i didn't know too much on how to make my char uber.... started out as an iksar warrior, tough times, but man.... were the freaking best times i've ever had in an mmo... EQ all the way

i played EQ from age 5-12. i remember starting when Kunark came out and then when i was 12 my dad and me switched to WoW and i thought and still think EQ is way more challenging and funner than WoW.

Same, started when I was 5 and had a gnome necro and Iskar Monk. I haven't been able to find a MMO that has come even close to EQ.

I playd Eq1 a little before WoW but 2004 the beta came (was like 10 then) and been playing wow ever since, wow nowadays is just boring and not challening at all...

Dude...GREAT videos! I agree with everything you're saying! I played EQ for 6 years from the beginning, and I've missed it ever since. I played WoW for a bit but I had so much more fun playing EQ. You're right btw...about why there are so many WoW videos. Another reason is that EQ came out/had its golden years when internet games weren't so popular. EQ max population was about 425,000 (according to wikipedia).

Hey man, I played and beta tested Eq and played till 2007. Its good to here someone who has lived it and can share the same thing i did. It brings back memories to those who have played this. The worse line ever in that game that would other make u laugh or freak out is Boskk shouts "TRAIN" /ooc WHERE!!!! DEAD dead dead 300000 mobs after you. Or even in the oasis with SG killing the noobs..... the good old days

One thing I remember from EQ is that halflings got an XP bonus, when I think Humans were supposed to get the bonus. Humans had very average stats, no vision bonus, no regen bonus. But for some reason, I guess the character index, the halflings got it. Some classes (and races) had XP penalties because of their advantages. So, the fastest leveling race / class combo was the halfling rogue. My first character was a Dark Elf Shadow Knight. It sucked because both DEs and SKs had XP penalties. :(
