Personally, I don't mind some of the various revists to FF7. It IS one of the most popular ones in the series, with a lot of fans being the ones that demanded remakes of it. I'm not one of those, but I still consider them a lot better than "Straight corridors interspersed with cutscenes and fights" XIII.

@Seiga Just because most of us hate how Square-Enix has been only because they only focus on making other final fantasy games which is a breathe of fresh air when they keep away from the 7 Franchise, But what most people hate how they would remake 7 but not Chrono Trigger or even this incredible game from our beloved past. Final Smashes:

Geno's could be something akin to star beam from Paper Mario, but with the star pieces instead of star spirits (Seeing as he most likely is a star spirit himself)

Smithy could have Sword Rain, Arrow Rain and Spear rain all at the same time.

Mallow could have Star Rain/Snowy/Shocker (More powerful thunderbolt) for all enemies, all at the same time.

The reason we havent seen any games with Geno in it is because Squaresoft (now SquareEnix) own the rights to the character Geno. "If" we ever saw Geno in a game it would have to be allowed by SquareEnix first. So I guess anything is possible but idk if SquareEnix even has interest in doing something like that.

Because SMRPG is made by both Nintendo and SquareSoft/Enix. Square owns the rights to Geno, but Nintendo owns the Mario franchise, so if they were to make a direct sequel to SMRPG, they would need to partner up again with Square, and for some financial reasons that hasn't happened yet, or Square just doesn't have any interest in doing it. Anyways, you'll just have to be satisfied with the Geno cameo in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

Square-Enix however is more concerned with the on-going FF7 and future Final Fantasy sequels that could give a rats ass about their other classic games and gathered such a nasty attitude over the years that a group of people was making a fangame called Chrono Ressurection and Square-Enix sent threatening letters that they'll sue the people if they didnt stop (Cotinued)

Unlike Sega, which I think searches the hacks and such for new talent for new Sonic games, Square-Enix has a vast supeirority complex that the only people allowed to make thier games are them. Which is understandable but they havent made a single good game because all they care about is freaking Final Fantasy 7 dont believe me look up the entire Final Fantasy list and you'll see as well. Sorry if that sounded mean
