you have to have some skills, at least of imagination.

Try to learn the pen tool, if you have a shaky hand, draw vector lines with it and then stroke those lines, you should get smooth lines .

This won't be my advice actually. Vector lines and stroke lines make your drawing look static and unnatural. It is better to keep those shaky lines, and polish those lines when you are zoomed in more, in my opinion.

well I just got my wacom tablet and i see the huge difference now...

But till now I've first drawn on pc with a mouse, free hand, then I discovered the pen tool, which made lines a lot smoother, especially curves.

I agree with the pen tool results looks quite unnatural, more commercial-looking graphics, but still more official and better than shaky curves.

You can also try to draw first with the mouse and then on remake the object with the pen tool on a separate layer, to see the difference.

And In my comment I compared mouse drawing to pen tool drawing, (encouraging so people who draw with the mouse, to try the pen tool...)

Otherwise I love the pen tool it's been 4 years I've been using it now... for logo design and line art ... but yeah, I never tried it with different brushes, say a sketchy one... it just came to my mind now.

Most of the time drawings become cartoony is because of the thick lines of black and white. Try to avoid those ''colors''.

First thing you do to draw digital, is to buy a Wacom drawing tablet ^^

After that you just need Photoshop (or opencanvas etc), and the fun can begin :)
