  • gqb. that's a wierd number.

  • NOOOOOOOO

Never pour away your brew dude :)

  • @Unclejona This video was made a while back; but did I say to pour out? I can't remember. LOL

  • I also found that filtered water/bottled water helps with extract brews as well....an ounce of your favorite hops also adds a nice touch if you are using an extract or canned recipe.

  • Dont throw away the crappy unknown yeast...just add it to your boil...the boil will kill the yeast and it'll add a little nutrient to your wort that your real yeast can use to make yummy beer.

  • That's a piece of shit kit that comes with that stuff, if it don't come with malt extract and a quality name yeast don't waste your time and money.

  • thanks for all the help! keep brewing good beer!

  • i used corn sugar for fermentation but table sugar for priming , exactly 6 grams per 750ml bottle , do you think me using table sugar for priming will make it crap ( i just used coopers lager kit NOTHING ELSE )

  • hey i just found your video's and find them very helpful..i have been making home brews for a few months now and they havn't been turning out to great..i was wondering if you could use half dextrose and half dry malt..thanks for the vids!

  • @BenReeves88 Thanks. I am glad they are of some help.

You most definitely can use half and half of DME and dextrose. I did that with my Cooper's Aussie Pale Ale, and it turned out nice. As long as dextrose isn't more than 25% of your fermentables, you should be fine.

    Cheers

  • Here's a budget tip... You can make 'brewers sugar' if you boil equal parts of granulated sugar and water and add a little pinch of cream of tartar. You'll end up with an invert syrup of equal parts glucose and fructose. WAY cheaper than buying it.

  • cap and trade, will tax you for breathing out CO2 , no joke. Do you want that if not please stop wareing Earth shirt supporting the elites global agenda. look it up, Cap and Trade.

  • @SilentPrayingmanTis Ummm. Yeah. I'll get right on that.

  • Iron Maiden in this one PeiPete... pretty good... if i'm ever in PEI i'm coming to have a festabrew hahaa... i'm in NB

I've brewed this kit before, i'm on this festabrew now, if its as good as you say, i'll never brew anything but.

  • I hope you like it as much as I do, but I really love brown ales.

Don't expect anything close to a Newcastle Brown though, it tastes nothing like it. The one thing I didn't mention in the video is this beer needs a couple weeks in the bottle, as it starts out a little tart.

  • thanks well it was a youngs brew buddie lager kit not a well known name but i started a batch of coopers canadian blonde last night hope this one is better have you done coopers canadian blonde thanks for the help

  • I haven't tried the Canadian blonde, but I am sure it will turn out nice. You might want to change your yeast up next time (if you didn't already) for a cleaner flavour, as that Coopers yeast isn't the greatest for that. My first few batches turned out less than great because I just used the yeast that came with the kits.

If you can get them, I highly recommend the Morgan's kits, IMO they make the best canned kit beers in the world (as always though, change the yeast).

  • thanks for your help between you and craigtube my very first batch of home brew rocks and will continue to make my own beer thank you keep the videos coming

  • Welcome to the hobby! What did you brew? You should make a video.

  • Have you ever heard of using white rice in place of the sugar? Supposedly it works well and has a very very neutral flavor, obviously.

  • I've heard of rice syrup, but I have never used it. I try to keep the use of adjuncts to a minimum. I think if you were trying to replicate an American lager , rice solids/syrup would work quite well for the style.

  • Thanks for the tips! Haven't started homebrewing yet, but I've been thinking of giving it a shot. For now I've posting craft beer reviews. Check out my channel. Cheers!

  • I subscribed. :-)

  • FestaBrew kits are fantastic! It's the easiest way to make good beer - although it's not always the cheapest ha ha.
