is this the one that crashed in afghanistan that they then blew up, and so they say forgot to secure the flight recorder so as to make sure no one knows that those rollsroyce piece of shit fire starters are just going to kill more poor bastards who just want to fly choppers anyway and not some thing that does it own thing and that prefers the hanger to the blue sky it likes to fall out of.?
@jones10395 no, Nellis AFB is in Las Vegas NV, although there are quite a few CV-22's based here in albuquerque. I see them ALL THE TIME. Plus, here in Albuquerque, we don't have palm trees. It gets too cold in the winter.
from what I hear from guys in the military, the osprey needs its own designated pilots, helicopter pilots don't like them and airplane/fighter pilots don't like them
Nice video. Hueys were easy targets in Vietnam. Based on videos I have seen, the CV-22 Osprey has slower VTOL than a Huey or Blackhawk. Looks like a better target that a helocopter.
@ostieguy That has been fixed. When you have new technology, you should always expect problems. The M-16 was prone to blow up when it was first made. Now they are fairly reliable as long as they are taken care of properly.
@TheGarog No the bullet measures were in-accurate when shot......the bullets went off inside the barrel to early due to this fact........but the problem wa fixed by making improved bullet measurements for the gun.
@The1fastrex The Air Force was the only branch that got rid of the Ch-53 or the Mh-53, the Marine Corps and Navy still use them mostly for transporting equipment to the shore for the Marines on the ground.
@jacobw992 The Air Force never had CH they were thinking about getting them to replace out HH-60 Pave Hawks but the plan failed. . . I know the Navy uses the MH-53 i think they call them Super Stallion's
"Recovery" (I.E. Launch and recovery from a carrier deck) Does not specificly mean recovery of a downed aircraft. it can mean landing, emergency landing, crash landing, search and rescue, etc etc.
Title says recovery..A recovery is the retrieval of a downed aircraft or an aircraft in flight that is out of control that the pilot "recovers" or regains control. This video is an approach for landing. In CV-22 terms, this is also called transition. Where the rotor system is transitioned from forward flight to hover. AKA "Tilt rotor"
Recovery refers to the operations at Nellis, eg Launch, and recovery. Because of the excersises they operate in launch mode where they are trying to get as many aircraft up and recovery mode where they are trying to get as many aircraft down as possible.
He refer to the term ''Coming Back'' wich you can get easily. And taking the fact that he aploud hundred of videos with the same term, its more easily and good looking put ''CV-22 Recovery'' beside ''CV-22 Approach for landing''. In my opinion.
@hcoptertx Since we're getting all technical these days, it's not called a "transition" when Ospreys are coming in for a landing... we call it a "conversion". When we take off, then we transition to airplane mode.

shadowblade145 2 years ago 17
@shadowblade145 I hear you. We launched and recovered sorties all the time in the U.S. Air Force.
Darknamja 1 year ago
@shadowblade145
it goes much further than that but you are spot on...if a plane leaves and you are on a team that sent it out...its a launch
if you are part of the team ready to debrief and tuck the plane into bed at night..it is a recovery.
plane goes out=launch
plane comes in=recovery
simple as that
destin325 1 year ago
that's true. It looks like in Fallout.
But why they put the Pave Low out of service for this? Pave Low looks more powerfull and all
