When you say don't kill living beings, how do you feel about bacteria, fungi and or viruses? Those are things that our body kill naturally, or attempt to on it's own. Was there any knowledge of the "micro organism" when the don't kill dogma was born.
absolutely marijuana helps, marijuana brings me much deeper into my mind and when i repeat thinking over and over the deep seeded negative emotions and feelings i have fade away and im left feeling much more assured and at one with everything.
when i meditate without marijuana my mind wanders and cant settle, im far too much of a thinker usually, i have it in my head that there is a benefit of stressing and overthinking everything. For some of us atleast, marijuana is wonderful
im interested in knowing more about your stance on sleeping, I'm very interested in dreams and the enlightening effects of DMT, as well as our minds need for sleep. You said that with meditation you find that you need much less sleep, which seems logical to me and i'd really like to hear more from you about the Buddhist thoughts on the topic
Is it OK to smoke pot before I try to meditate? I do not consider pot a drug, it is natural, & im not talking about excessive use. Please dont judge me I take this very serious.

I think it is wrong to say that marijuana should be avoided. If that is what you truly believe, then you yourself have not mastered the ability to meditate while high AS FUUUUCCKKK!
Dear friend, I have two questions and would be really thankful if you could answer them : 1.) I listen to some really enlightened beings and gurus and I understand something but somethings I fail to understand as to why did they say this and that leads to a lot of confusion and hence suffering. Now if a layman says something it's easier to let go but if a guru says so then it becomes difficult to remove it from the mind. How to go about it ?
@TehGuezt he said dont get involved in sexually harmful relationships, like adultery. as long as it doesnt harm anyone else then it shouldnt harm meditation
When I try to be mindful of body, it is making it awfully slow. I can not imagine someone really being mindful of watching the traffic in front, in the back, in the neighboring lanes and eating breakfast, applying brakes, pressing the pedal and drinking coffee, showing middle finger to next driver, etc. Forget about killing squirrels on the way. Instead of being mindful of minute things, we should be mindful of "I am alive today", etc. Otherwise, you will end up in a cave giving lectures.
@yuttadhammo Your videos are a gift to us all. However, I disagree with what you said about marijuana/drugs. If drugs are used in ritual, only as a tool with which to commune with Spirit, then they are not "bad" for meditation. Quite the opposite, in fact! My path is such that I reach sabikalpa samadhi on a regular basis several times per week using marijuana or ketamine. I know eventually I won't "need" them to reach that blessed state, but for now it is fine - more than fine.. Divine!
@yuttadhammo Dear friend, I have two questions and would be really thankful if you could answer them : 1.) hey man, I have practiced your technique but I go through periods of hopelessness and at those times that is all that comes to my mind and I just want to lay down and quit. Have you ever felt hopeless and overcome it by meditation or do you know anyone who has overcome hopelessness by meditation?
@bahram7986 hopelessness is fine... hopes mean clinging to the future. When you are truly present, there is no need to hope for anything. Probably there is some sadness or displeasure in your mind that you are labeling incorrectly... look and see whether you like or dislike the state of mind, and you should see some disliking. When you do, say to yourself, "disliking, disliking", etc.
i am new to meditation and was wondering how long a day should i meditate and what time of day do you think is a good time for meditation....also is it a good idea to listen to calm music will meditation??....thank you
thanks , i had been mindful of my breath throughout all those activities you mentioned , but i think it may have prevented me from direct contact with the activity itself. can you clarify if this is correct or if being mindful of my breath during an activity such as walking is ok. thanks again.
The Buddha said, "when walking, one knows 'I am walking'." It is important to come to see the nature of the reality in front of us. Watching the breath during walking would take you away from the action of walking. It would be difficult to focus on either with any precision. Better to separate the two exercises.
hello, i enjoy and absorb your videos greatly... i am confused about one thing, the saying of the words in our head are we saying it like really saying it in our heads or are we just acknowleging it...
We're saying it in the object, not the head. When your object is the stomach, you are saying it in the stomach. When your object is the foot, you are saying it in the foot, etc.
thankyou very much for these videos, iv recently been troubled alot, and after finding your videos iv now been able to calm myself and feel at peace and happy again, these are very helpful, but i was wondering would it be rude to ask how often you meditate and how long for ? thankyou again for everything you have done for me, much love :)
Hello, dont you see that is immature and ignorant ?
toxicants gives you the boost to be aware of what is around you like high meditation states, yes it does, but it's artificial, is not you who are doing it, something (chemical) is doing it for you, your are not discovering yourself like that. When we look back to hard objectives we had in life we can see and be great full how difficult and hardworking was it, you get me?You will find sooner or later that psychedelics is not it
Thank you very much for this video. It is good that you illustrated the fact that in order to do effective meditation, there are some unwholesome actions/desires/habits that one must give up. Too many people jump in to meditation without practicing the "moral" side first and give up because they have too many distractions and cannot meditate effectively. This, in my opinion, is probably the most important thing besides meditation.
What if you were to break one of those five things you mentioned in the beginning of the video? Would you still recommend practicing meditation?
Also was wondering about this: when you say that one who is not attached to anything will not suffer much.. does it also mean that one who is not attached to anything will not enjoy much? In that case i would rather suffer much to enjoy the things I like.
Anyway, thank you for your videos. I find them really interesting.
You can enjoy whatever it is that came to be, in between those should be what you already do enjoy. So you'll basically add things to the enjoyable list or refrain from labelling others as 'bad'. Or as 'good'. They simply are, and are perfect as such.
