I bought almost the exact same car in 1981 new, but it was a firebird, T-tops fully loaded, with silver interior and seats the same as this, but I had the prismatic plate on gear shift also, and I had a built in power booster factory, which was not included on the TA's for the most part. Only thing I didnt have was air, but I had the T-tops. Looking at the car with the T-tops off, it looked like a space ship :) It had a 305, and was faster then my buddys Formula 350, because I had the high cam.
@RamblinAround Thanks!, it was my favorite of all cars. I use to drive some 240 kilos from work to my hometown every 2 weekends. I would leave at midnight after my shift, on those hot nights, take off the T-bars, and sour down the QEW highway here in Canada, when no one else was on the road, with that old rock music up loud. It was at that time the last of the muscle car firebird style, in 1981. 1982, was a totally different car which I was not fussy on. Be nice to see the classic return :)
Its hard to tell from the video, but the t-tops looks like smoked versions. The original had silver mirrored glass. Tires aren't correct either, should be good year polysteel radials. I'd like to see the engine and vin code to know more about it.
The Shifter know isn't an original. The original was a black knob with a red/silver 4spd insert on the top. I bought this same car new and I also changed the shifter knob to the hurst alum version - original digs into your hand when you use it.
Shifter is a hurst chrome stick. I had to bid on mine against 3 other buyers, it wasn't for sale. I think I paid 5k over retail to get it.
I just saw one of these last week that is still with the original owner. Total miles on the clock.....34(thirty four). Not 34,000. 34 miles. Perfect all over and under.8/2/11
Yeah I do mean one of the 60. I'd love to know the vins of the TA's that were in it. Do you know if the pace car sticker kit is still available?
The 10th Anniversary car already looks amazing but with the Daytona pace car kit on its unbelievable!!! Really has to be seen in person to appreciate it
@fragglevooper Do you mean a pace car that was actually used at the race? I'm not sure how you'd verify that. I would think someone has the Vin numbers logged somewhere.
omfggggggggg i saw that LS1 camaro SS in the background! that trans am is cool as hell, my brother's friend has one in black with gold stuff n junk. sure does make me hate my life. i could live without the nascar decals but still awesome. were you right under a speaker or did you add the music?
I want one of those, im looking for a nice one, and obviously i want it cheap. But paying 25000 dollars for that is almost stealing it! In my opinion, the price should be two or three times that, for a survivor rare muscle car.
@RamblinAround like i said just joking Jeff ! the pontiac trans am is the most iconic usa car that i know off along whit the mustang maybe. that were the first usa cars here in holland that i can remember as a kid ! awesome !

The things I would do to that car. :<

It would be better if it had a 403 auto with no t-tops. Also, I think it's sacriligious to have a '77-'81 TA in anything but black and gold.

@TheMKEWERBY I really like black and gold too. Thanks for checking it out!
