Viva Hugo Chavez , Evo Morales, Daniel Ortega, Cristina Elisabet Fernández de Kirchner , Raul Castro, Oscar Arias, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, . All united against us Imperialism.
The United States purchases 60% of the Oil Venezuela pumps. The Oil Venezuela pumps is of far less quality than that of the Middle East (extremely heavy and sour, compared to Saudi oil which is light sweet crude).
The United States is one of the few countries with the necessary refining capacity to process it into ANYTHING (much less fuels)
If the United States stopped purchasing Venezuelan oil, the Venezuelan economy would collapse into a depression.
Venezuela= Hot girls, Good oil and The Best Breack Dancers + Arms= Nice Country :) Fucking Bush go to hell, nobody likes you damn, someone whose want to fight from that country maybe Bush´s friend, so...fuck all that against Venezuela, no one knows us enough from USA, bitches. Viva Mexico!, Latino America y todos los hipanos del mundo contra cualquier guevon ignorante. Peace.
Chavez a little bit crazy but with the big balls to say Fuck The USA. I have been living in Europe for over 6 years and to tell the truth all this 27 countries are total puppets of the USA government, they have no respect for themselves and are often humiliated by Bush policies. Europe countries are far from freedom by USA dominitation.
Europe is free today because of the United States and NATO.
You don't want to hear that, but that is the truth. It was not always this way, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, it was the Chancellor of West Germany that urged Kennedy NOT to concede to the Soviets.
Cuba had no say in the matter. The Soviets placed Nuclear Missiles in Cuba in order to attempt to show the United States they could do whatever they wanted wherever they wanted.
The United States didn't "Terrorize" Cuba, we attempted to assassinate Castro. Because Castro was SCARED, he shifted his alliances to the Soviets. It had nothing to do with the ordinary Cuban on the street.
wrong on both counts. Cuba accepted the missiles because they knew an invasion was imminent in Oct 1962. US was carrying out a number of military exercises with naval, land and airborne units in the Caribbean to prepare for this, such as Jupiter Springs, Swift Strike II, Blue Water, and Phibriglex. to say "Cuba had no say in the matter" just shows your ignorance. Cuban troops were even in control of the missiles initially. They argued with the Russians over who would have physical control.
Bulls__t. I don't care what his General's thought, but Kennedy would NEVER have attempted a second invasion after the disaster that was the Bay of Pigs.
Cuba was used by the Soviets and just about struck the match that lit World War 3.
It makes me have more respect for the Soviets that they were at least responsible enough to keep control of the Weapons themselves, and not put them in the hands of a nut like Castro.
"Kennedy would NEVER have attempted a second invasion after the disaster that was the Bay of Pigs."
declassified government documents show that's exactly what they were planning. in july 1961, two weeks before the missiles were discovered, the secretary of defense mcnamara met with the joint chiefs to prepare contingency plans for a air strike (Oplan 312) and ground invasion (Oplan 314,316) of Cuba under CINCSTRIKE command
We also have contingency plans for invading Canada, it doesn't mean we ever will. These people get paid to have plans for ALL TYPES of theoretical missions that will, most likely, never happen.
S__t, I'm sure SOMEWHERE there's a plan for invading Great Britain, but I somehow don't think we'll be doing that anytime soon.
In 1961, Cuba's relations with the Soviets had pretty much reached they zenith, so I'm not surprised we had backup plans, FOR JUST SUCH AN OCCASION AS WE ARE DISCUSSING.
if Canada was being terrorized daily and Marines were practicing beach invasions off their coast then they would have reason to worry. is your example even remotely comparable to what was happening to Cuba circa 1960s? No, so that was completely irrelevant.
You can twist it around all you like. Castro aligned himself with the Soviet Union for no other reason than to make himself and his tiny island into a major player in the Cold War.
The United States did not begin ANY operations against Cuba until it was obvious that Castro WAS NOT going to honor his promise to the Cuban people to bring Democracy and was simply going to transfer Cuba from one Dictator to another.
His actions and his alone are responsible for Cuba's history and situation now.
wrong again. US began bombing and strafing attacks of Cuba as early as Oct '59. the formal decision to overthrow Castro was made in March '60. this was before any contact with the Soviets, which did not happen until May '61, after US-Cuban relations were severed and the US sponsored an invasion in April. Cuba was targeted because they were taking an independent path. It had nothing to do with Cuba being a Soviet satellite - that was just a pretext.this much is admitted in US internal documents.
"The United States did not begin ANY operations against Cuba until it was obvious that Castro WAS NOT going to honor his promise to the Cuban people to bring Democracy.."
what does this have to do with supporting democracy? the US has shown they are the number one enemy of democracy. I can run down the list of friendly dictators and brutal regimes they supported when it was convenient for them. The world doesn't buy that shit anymore from you hypocrites.
Because when Castro showed himself to be a LIAR, it made him untrustworthy. An untrustworthy leader is someone who goes back on promises. You know, like Hugo Chavez.
CASTRO GOT THE SUPPORT OF THE CUBAN PEOPLE BASED ON HIS LIE OF REPLACING BATISTE'S DICTATORSHIP WITH A DEMOCRACY.
Speaking of the World, funny how it still seems they trust us more than, say Russia isn't it?
you can keep your phony "democracy" and millionaire politics, we've already seen what that means in the US and Iraq, both bastions of democracy in your eyes i'm sure.
Hugo Chavez is already the most popular figure in Venezuelan history since Bolivar, I doubt Venezuelans think he's a liar like your president or they would have voted him out already (they have recall elections in Venezuela, which is a real democracy unlike the corrupt plutocratic system in the US)
Of course he is. He's managed to foster a bull___t Robin Hood image by stealing from those who did business in Venezuela in good faith. He had no problem with private ownership of oil fields UNTIL they started to pay off, them suddenly they were "imperialistic".
Adolf Hitler was also one of the most popular leaders of his time as well. Hell, George Bush was popular when first elected.
Being popular doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things my friend.
George Bush is a robin hood too, except he steals from the poor and gives to the rich. Ask his buddy Henry Paulson, who is still working hard for Goldman Sachs and Wall Street, except now he's the Treasury Secretary, asking for billions of your tax dollars to bailout investment banks and mortgage lenders. At least Chavez nationalizes companies that actually make a profit.
I don't consider it stealing to ensure all state activity related to oil exploration and production is dedicated to the public interest. That's just good governance. But if you insist on these childish metaphors (where anything relating to tax increases in the state = 'stealing') then I might as well turn them around and show the hypocrisy in your argument.
Companies such as ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil spent BILLIONS developing those regions (the Venezuelans sure as hell didn't have the money OR knowledge to do it to the same degree) just so Captain Contagious could run in and STEAL them the minute they start to pay off.
You don't see the Hypocrisy in letting others pay your way and then swoop in just when it's paying off? If he was so interested in the "public interest", he should have done it the minute he was elected.
those companies should be grateful they are even allowed to invest there and earn HUGE profits by exploiting Venezuela's hydrocarbons. those natural resources belong to the Venezuelan people, not these foreign companies who are lucky they only paid 1% royalties until very recently. it's only fair to raise that tax now that the price of oil has reached historical heights. I only wish Chavez would completely nationalize the entire oil industry. The people come first, not corporations.
What do you think Corporations are run by, ROBOTS!
People build Corporations so AS A GROUP they can do MORE than any one person can do individually. This pipe dream that "Everything would be great without *greedy* corporations" has been around since the days of Lenin.
You still refuse to see the hypocrisy of developing a conscience only AFTER the heavy lifting is done. This is PRECISELY what Hugo Chavez has done. He's no better or worse than those he *claims* to hate.
"What do you think Corporations are run by, ROBOTS!"
no, but the institution is what poses a danger since the corporation is an accountable, private tyranny that is morally blind and operates purely out of self interest.
"People build Corporations so AS A GROUP they can do MORE than any one person can do individually."
so can people who work cooperatively through other forms of organization.
"You still refuse to see the hypocrisy of developing a conscience only AFTER the heavy lifting is done. This is PRECISELY what Hugo Chavez has done. He's no better or worse than those he *claims* to hate."
There is no hypocrisy in a nation taking back control of its natural resources to look after the welfare of its citizens.
Humankind has advanced more in the last 100 years than it did in the last 1000 and that is in large because of the organizing principle of capitalism.
Unfortunately, people will do a hell of a lot more for money than they ever will for the good of others.
This has always been the fallacy of socialistic system. They never last because eventually people want individual freedom, including the freedom not to care about or for others.
I agree with the first part of your statement, history has shown capitalism is a dynamic force that has revolutionized production and brought progress in many areas of life, but I think you're just too cynical to believe there is another way to organize society that relies on the values of solidarity, egalitarianism, and collective cooperation (because history has also shown these are also a part of our human nature as much as greed, cruelty, etc)
The US funded, trained and organized terrorists that attacked Cuba indiscriminately under CIA guidance; they conducted a number of commando raids in Cuba, blowing up factories, sugar mills, warehouses, attacking fishing boats and merchant ships, mining sea ports, shooting down civilian airliners, sending all kinds of saboteurs, assassins, and spies to destroy their economy. There is no other word for it but state-sponsored terrorism.
the idiot Kennedy is the one who almost ushered in a nuclear apocalypse. he campaigned on a phony "missile gap", escalating the arms race once he got into power, and continued the aggressive foreign policy against Cuba that involved state-sanctioned terrorism (invasions, sabotage, assassination, etc) which forced Castro to seek a deterrent (missiles). the Missile Crisis was a mess of US's own making, just like September 11.

8 years of the Bush-Cheney-Neocon clique in Washington has weakened the USA. We have not had a true conservative government, by any stretch of the imagination. One of Bush's WORST policies has been to irritate Russia.
(missiles in E. Europe, etc.) The weak post-Soviet Russia of the mid-90s is gone. Now, it is a resource superpower that is building links across the globe, and the world is becoming multi-polar. The NEOCON model is in the trash can!
Nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced.

I wouldn't be scared by this at all, there's more nations on earth than just the US.
And they're allowed to conduct business together.

From a 5th-generation conservative American:
8 years of the Bush-Cheney-Neocon clique in Washington has weakened the USA. We have not had a true conservative government, by any stretch of the imagination. One of Bush's WORST policies has been to irritate Russia.
(missiles in E. Europe, etc.) The weak post-Soviet Russia of the mid-90s is gone. Now, it is a resource superpower that is building links across the globe, and the world is becoming multi-polar. The NEOCON model is in the trash can!

Arrogant America. Good to know Russia is extending their hand into international friendships.
