@theoracularpig Yeah! I bet 50% of all views is by people searching for "gay" "drunk" or "fat". Hahaha! I actually forgot about those funny tag words! :D
Great playing ! I just started playing blues, plz check my blues jam (@ my channel) and tell me what you think about it. It would help me alot. Keep the blues alive!
@foofightersforever18 First of all - I don't think theorethical when I play. Secondly - use your ears. I just follow the chords - simply put... If you try to analyze what I do you will see that it's mostly ordinary minor and major scales mixed with pentatonic ones... and some notes in between... Plus alot of slides and bends.
You know... I don't think much about it, I just play. Sounds cliche but that's the truth.
@CedricIII i was just curious because i never really learned theory but i think im a pretty good guitarist i much prefer to play whatever im feeling at the time it seems to work for me
@foofightersforever18 If you have good ears, then that's the way to go I think. However, it's never wrong to have a good technique and knowing the theory behind what you are doing...
@ravenshield56 Yeah, thanks! You know, I'm so glad that I decided to keep that take, makes me laugh every time! The string breakage unleashed my fukkin fury! LOL!
@FingerLickinGravy67 They are in tune all the time more or less, because I play all guitars almost every day. They need the attention or else they get mad at you and breaks strings and stuff. Guess that's what happened with the Les Paul. I never played it... it's just hanging on the wall, that's the reason I traded it with the Parker Fly - which I don't play that often either, but I like it more than the LP.
You gotta tell me what scales you're using man! Are these the modes or what? I'm trying to improve myself outside of my circle as a blues guitarist, and would like to get somewhere remotely close to this level! :D
@airronic I wish I could tell you what scales I'm using, but I really don't know exactly what I'm doing.
I guess it's mostly minor pentatonic mixed with minor/major scales and some notes in between.
I don't think in scales, just playing whatever comes into my head. I like to bend alot, not just the notes that you usually bend. All notes can be bent, LOL. Whatever note you hit-it's never more than ½ a step away from a note that fits, so if you play the wrong note - bend it to the right place! :)
@HoboJones10 No need to worry about that, cause I got rid of that piece of unplayable wood... Actually I traded it for a Parker Fly...
But, a month ago, I got myself a new guitar (again...) This time a SG Standard, Cherry red. Much easier to play, weights just a fraction of a LP and is way more rock'n roll than any other guitar! Thanks for watching, dude! :)
man i hate it so much..fucking youtube is full with videos like that but when you go into a club or a bar there are only a few musicians... wish i was in the 70s or 80s where musicians played together on a stage and not only on youtube...
I bought the same amp thaks to this, even though I play metal and not blues :) Awesome playing. And the part where you broke the string was hilarious :D
that was top notch man.. i really gotta get out of the pentatonic/blues rut.. all i seem to ever play over a blues progression are those 5-6 notes.. while it sounds good and all.. too much repetition makes it a little stale..
how do you follow the chord changes? are you using anything fancy in terms of scales?
i need an amp that has a good blues tone and lots of distortion for thrash ect. dont really know what to get, thinking about a tiny terror or a marshall. could get one like this but spending 300 plus on an old second hand 1 is risky or are they easy enough to fix if they break? or could get more of an entry level marshall on a small budget about £300-420/ $500 been using a practise amp since i started playing 4 years ago.. would appreciate any suggestions to look at
Dude I love it! But you have to find out what the mod is - that's what brought us here. Oh and like what time in the early hours did you do this? I bet 2am? If you could have borrowed the amp longer perhaps you could have made a new vid without the string snapping. Great responsive amp with great feel playing mostly.
@macman8680 The guy that I borrowed the amp from sold it just a month after I returned it to him, so I can't do another vid with it... As he told me the mod was to get the EQ to do more, also channel two got two different volume and gain knobs, so it was practically a three channel amp, or a two channel amp with a separate boost function. It didn't add gain, just reduced the non boosted channel two so that you get more in solos - or the normal amount. So, this amp has nothing special to it...
@sudeki009 Well, my playing isn't really complicated. It's mostly ordinary minor and major scales mixed with pentatonics... Stick with that, follow the chords, make sure to learn those scales in all positions so you don't get stuck. The trick is to hear it in the head, cause it's not technically hard to play. Also what I do alot is to play scales in a horizontal way rather than vertical, if you know what I mean. Bends and vibratos are also crusial...
@CedricIII Thanks! I have been sticking with vertical scaling for awhile now just to get used to the fingering and position and I think its time to take it to the next step using horizontal scaling. I also have to get used to the other positions in the scale like you said. Thanks for the tips and I will send u a PM ASAP.
Hi, I have just recently been interested in the marshall amps for my blues sound but forgive my ignorance, but what is the mod. 4210? This is the best sounding jcm 800 i have heard and awesome playing.A+
@paramedic6801 4210 is the model number. It was also modified in some way, I don't know what has been done inside the amp. I just borrowed it from a friend for a couple of days, so I really don't know anything more about it.
dude, at the begginin I was like: well.... a gibson, a marshall and blues, already seen this before, alright.... but dude... YOU ARE FUCKIN AWESOME!!!!!1!! I am amazed, you rocked the hell out of this amp :D keep kickin assess
hhheyy bro....great playing man!!! you get that tone from that combo? i heard that style from a record before...i cant remember now....yuo got Page, Gary Moore,.....
I love your note selection and phrasing! great tone and playing! I've got a question though, I looked for this backing track and it's not there anymore :( If you still have it could you please send it to me? or tell me where I could download it? I really wanna improv over this track. Either way, your playing is great, and that was the smoothest string-break transition to another guitar that i've ever seen haha.
@MrBluesound Yeah, people keep telling me how much they love my wallpaper! LOL
The amp was really sweet sounding and inspiring to play on, but as I've mentioned before - a little more bass, gain and eq-controls that actually DO something would be highly appreciated.
YUM!!!!!!!! those licks have emotions in them, you got talent bro many musicians lack they have speed but no emotion in their notes but this is amazing
@stevespeeder Thx! I tried several Les Pauls this weekend and as a matter of fact - I miss this Les Paul that I use in this video. I traded it for a Parker Fly a year ago, but I keep getting this second thoughts all the time. Gotta have a LP... The broken string was so funny. I didn't even like what I played, but decided to keep the video just because of the string breakage! LOL. Rock on!
@natrat51 To be honest... I never listen to them, I don't have any music by them... so any similarity is highly coincidentally... BUT I have listened some to Gilmour's stuff because people tell me about hearing some influences from him and I can agree to that. At the end, all it's about is melody and feeling. It might sound like Knopfler, Gilmour or whatever, which doesn't really matter... I take it as a big compliment any way and thank you for watching my video! Cheers! / Fredric
@CedricIII Hello, I really love the way you play the blues, something between power blues and rock with not common stuff and lots of feeling and verry expressive playing. I frequently watch you video and try to do the same thing ... without succeeding. Congratulations. I think it doesn't worth to ask you if you can give a tabulation of what you play in this video.
@fedemiglio No, I don't remember, but I think the bass was on 10, because there was so little bass in the amp. Gain was also at 10, but the rest... I don't remember.
Hey man i love your videos! I am learning guitar and i particularly like bluesy type music. I was wondering how you got to be so good? Was a lot of it self taught or did you take lessons? Have you ever heard the song Last Call by Dixie Witch? IF you haven't you might want to check it out i think you would really like it.
I'm mostly self taught, but had lessons both when I was like 12-13 but also when I was 17.
I think my "skills" has developed during all these years of playing many different styles and also playing in different bands. You need to play a lot to become a good guitar player. Of course being musical and have good ears helps ALOT! I guess my ears are good. You can train them by copy what you hear. That's the only way I could do it in the 80's cause there were no tabs... ;)
@CedricIII Hey, just thought I'd ask: are you using any particular scales or are you just really familiar with the guitar and what strings are you using cause you make your bends and vibratos look really easy!
@LewLewBRFC Thanks, man! I'm not thinking in scales. I think in melodies. Of course it helps to know scales, but as long as it sounds right then you're right on track, lol. I know a lot of scales, but I don't use them like scales, I play across the strings, but also along the neck if you know what I mean? If you listen to it, it might sound like a regular minor pentatonic, but the way I play it depends on where my fingers are in that moment. It takes years of practice... thx 4 watching! :)

LOL. Rock on!

I'd love to have that backing track. Can you share what it is? Great playing!

Do you like Pink Floyd? Because I hear a little Gilmour in there.
natrat51 8 months ago 22

I think it doesn't worth to ask you if you can give a tabulation of what you play in this video.

fedemiglio 9 months ago
@fedemiglio you are in clean channel?
fedemiglio 9 months ago
@fedemiglio No, it's the overdrive channel. I'm only using a delay pedal in the effects loop.
CedricIII 9 months ago
@fedemiglio No, I don't remember, but I think the bass was on 10, because there was so little bass in the amp. Gain was also at 10, but the rest... I don't remember.

Hey man i love your videos! I am learning guitar and i particularly like bluesy type music. I was wondering how you got to be so good? Was a lot of it self taught or did you take lessons? Have you ever heard the song Last Call by Dixie Witch? IF you haven't you might want to check it out i think you would really like it.
sorvig84 10 months ago
@sorvig84 Hey! Thanks!
That's the only way I could do it in the 80's cause there were no tabs... ;)
CedricIII 10 months ago
@CedricIII Hey, just thought I'd ask: are you using any particular scales or are you just really familiar with the guitar and what strings are you using cause you make your bends and vibratos look really easy!
Great Playing :)
LewLewBRFC 10 months ago
@LewLewBRFC Thanks, man! I'm not thinking in scales. I think in melodies. Of course it helps to know scales, but as long as it sounds right then you're right on track, lol. I know a lot of scales, but I don't use them like scales, I play across the strings, but also along the neck if you know what I mean? If you listen to it, it might sound like a regular minor pentatonic, but the way I play it depends on where my fingers are in that moment. It takes years of practice... thx 4 watching! :)
CedricIII 9 months ago
@CedricIII Oh cool, I'll have to practise a lot then haha! Thanks for the tips :)
