I'm a Rap Hip Hop Beat Producer here in Atlanta and currently looking for 10 investors to invest in the Reactable Live with me to release it this summer here in Atlanta. Let's get some BANGING beats on the Reactable Live!! message me (serious inquiries only)
I BET you someone will end up being a total master with one and blowing our minds :D .. I've already been looking for something that would blow my mind, but no-one has still mastered it well enough to make full songs. But I BET it's possible and will happen.
To interact and create in such a intuitive way that it's accessable and understandable for a large group due to it's great usability?
The options are infinite and I hope we will see a spin off of this device in music, VJ-ing, therapy for authistic kids... ew I just overreacted, didn't I?
and to the guy that was looking for the word 'Mobile' (at least that's what we call the dangling things you hang above ur babies head) and thought it was a bit simple:
isn't THAT just the great breakthrough and USP of this system?
yeah I really c the potential of the reactable: live DJ-sets, a more simple version for your mac to jam online with other users, use of it in management-trainings for a better understanding of each party and a better and more intuitive collaboration between co-workers..... and so on... and so on...
That one works with information and fiches, also really cool. And also because it works as an interactive system. different people can add information, withdraw it etc etc... but I was talking about this fantastic device.
I am really in the 'camp' of the 'believers' here.
Think it's a great tool for more then one reason. I saw the reactable first when I visited the Bjork concert here in Amsterdam last July. Was immediately curious about the 'device' when I saw one of Bjork's bandmembers, Damian Taylor taking it away on this thing. It reminded me of an invention by Philips I came across some some six years ago called 'living memory' at the E-Culture Fair.
Man you got the point. This is NEVER for pure professional studios. I would rather put every note on the piano roll, rather than just use these blocks. Though, if these things are used for dynamic line swapping(topological graphs... let one block mean one line, then you can switch between lines using these... who controls whom can also be modified). this will simplify the production.
I actually disagree... I think that this interface may contribute with creativity from another point of view. We are too much attached to the 12-tone keyboard while electronic sound offers you much more.
yea, here we go again! But I think its time that someone takes the table home for a month or so and creates reproducable routines: what about something short, yummy, impressive and handsome beside all the cool improvisations? Your table rocks anyway!

I believe this has the ability to become a well produced social instrument.
I can already see collaborations of friends and strangers gathering around to see who can make the best beats. Those who can`t cooperate move on.
I fear it`s destruction.
Or a lackluster gimmicky party trick that grows stale through missuses and a lack of proficiency.
I believe in this product but I will never have the capital to purchase it.

Why dont you guys train to make an unique entire music, or try to copy a eletro music that we already know, instead of doing only small parts?
A song with this would be great. And you already have all the instruments and combinations needed!
