  • Well I dont need to worry, because Maryland where I live doesn't issue concealed carry permits, and it sucks balls.

  • @les4lifepaul

Yeah man its fucking horse shit.

  • this guy got fired for using a government credit card to buy gas for personal vehicles for quite some time. I'm from UT and it was all over the news

  • police...be it city or county, have a job to do.

be a decent person, and show proper respect to the law that protects you.

that you will EXPECT heroic actions from

to save you, your family or friends

    most are not bad

    but,not all are good

the turn question is? do "YOU" want to be judged? BEFORE the person judging you knows anything about what kind of person YOU are? no?

there's a lot of awesome officers out there! so, Please

give them the respect that they will, undoubtingly give you, in return.

  • @heidibug69 Thats the problem with people in this country. I dont expect ANYONE to save me.Although, I agree with your statement otherwise.

  • Shitty cops. Best method to notify a police officer you are exercising your second amendment duty is by putting your gun to their head and not hesitating to kill that pig.

  • @derek8171 well your arrgument is invailed. its a right not a duty first. second according to your profile and comment history you appear to be a "angry hippie/ liberal who must be weak minded because of the need for illegal substance use." IE Weed, mushroom, Lsd. and i think you'd be better off stating "... kill that police officer." instead of "... kill that pig." i really havent ever see a pig driving a police car. and if it was you wouldnt want to kill it because its intelligent

  • @derek8171 and it would be intresting to study a car driving talking pig. and also get the police their cruiser back

  • @derek8171 Go clean a toilet asshole.

  • "...he or she will take the appropriate measures as they see fit..."

hmmm... That's an interesting thing to say.

  • @Miata822 Yeah, you'll be dead.

On the other hand, if you're respectful and simply keep your mouth shut, chances are the stop will come to a happy ending.

  • @voogru, I could be wrong, but I think you meant to reply to the other guy.

  • Cops are legally allowed to lie to you. So how do we know this cop is giving us good advice?

You know what a lawyer once told me? Cops are not lawyers.

Keep your hands on the wheel, be respectful and polite to the police officer, and only provide required documentation. That’s it.

Keep your damn mouth shut otherwise.

Oh yeah, and don’t ever lie to a cop. Only they are allowed to lie. They’re special. Don’t want to answer a question? You guessed it, keep your mouth shut.

  • Good advice... except about the knife. No one cares about a knife.

  • how do i tell a police officer to go fuck himself?

  • Comment removed

  • bacon gets fried round here

  • Screw telling them anything I don't have to tell them!! Trusting cops gets too many people killed lately for my liking!! Let them wonder if I am not obligated to let them know!!

  • @Gman6755 Some states have laws that require you to inform a LEO during a stop that you have a CCW and if you are in possession or not and where it is located.

  • @The009 That is true. My state, New Yorkistan, does not require me to tell them so I would never mention it. Best to avoid cops in my opinion.

  • @The009 And those laws are a violation of your 1st and 5th Amendment rights. Just like the government can’t prevent you from speaking, the government can’t pass laws forcing you to speak and then punishing you for not speaking.

  • @voogru even though that is true the law is the law and if you don't follow it such as here in OHIO you can lose your CCW and go to jail and wind up with a Felony Change.

Just because it isn't right doesn't mean that you don't have to do it.

Personally what do I care if an office knows I have it. I would rather them know and not shoot me then find out later and be trigger happy and kill me over something as simple as not telling them.

  • @The009 An unconstitutional act is not a law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; it affords no protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation as inoperative as though it had never been passed. -Norton v. Shelby County, 118 U.S. 425 (1886)

    Live free or die.

  • @The009 That's also why I remain polite and respectful to police officers. Really, you have nothing to lose by being polite. Just assert your rights.

If they do kill you, unlawfully in cold blood, whether they get away with it or not they will be judged accordingly eventually.

  • Unless the law dictates otherwise, the best sense is to keep you mouth shut and not cooperate with the cops

  • Best advice, dont say shit....they dont need to know..because if you have no bad intentions IT DOESNT FUCKIN MATTER. DONT TALK TO THE COPS.

  • This should be a video of what NOT to do!

  • just hand them your carry permit with your DL and for you dicks who dont think you have to in your state keep in mind when they run your DL number it will tell the officer if you have a carry permit if you where going to get a warning now your gonna get a ticket if thats how he or she had to find out about it do the right thing and tell the officer even if its not the law its not like they can do anything about it by law and if they do lawsuit :)

  • @CDCraig99 They don't know by running our Florida plates. Furthermore, not all states require you to inform unless asked by an officer. I pay attention to what state I am in.

  • they'll know i have a gun when its in they're face :)

  • @JuLiUsCeSaR00 cool! be sure to send me a postcard when u r in jail

  • @BurnYourSelfProds easy man its just a joke

  • @JuLiUsCeSaR00 thats a good idea. one less loser on the streets killed by a cop. Idiot.

  • @the1antichrist wow wow there it was a joke get a sense of humor dude

  • @the1antichrist no need to call anyone an idiot some people have feelings jerk

  • This is for people who have a concealed carry license. If you had one you wouldn't mind telling the police about it, and that shows that this applies to none of you. You people who said you might need to use it in self defense against a cop are plain retarded and need your guns taken away. An officer is not going to pull you over and try to kill you. Its never happened.

  • @LSjeans4 I guess you aren't familiar with officer Dan Harless and his stunt that got him fired in Canton Ohio.

  • @LSjeans4 Cops have killed seriously injured unarmed citizens that had burnt flesh all over their bodies with blood everywhere, while they were sitting down bothering nobody waiting for emergency services.

    Because they were a threat.

    Google Fouad Kaady.

    Have a nice day.

  • better yet why not have a sticker or badge id on your car that shows you have a weapon on board? that way little jerk offs who think their playing need for speed and try to flip you off think about it twice.

  • Informing an officer about a concealed weapon is not only a courtesy, but a good idea as well. When the officer sees your weapon when reaching for a wallet or seat belt, the chances of your face being literally melted are reduced when the officer knows you're carrying.

  • the job of a police officer is to catch you fucking up by any means nessicary without violating your rights. even if that means misinforming, deceiving and even rule-bending. the best defense against arrest is NOT fucking up for they WILL throw the book at you every time. if you do fuck up your best bet is to invoke your 5th amendment right regardless and ask for a lawyer. keep in mind that some cops care about your rights and some care about a good conviction rate.

  • “Citizens may resist unlawful arrest to the point of taking an arresting officer's life if necessary.” Plummer v. State, 136 Ind. 306. This premise was upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States in the case: John Bad Elk v. U.S.

“An arrest made with a defective warrant, or one issued without affidavit, or one that fails to allege a crime is within jurisdiction, and one who is being arrested, may resist arrest and break away. lf the arresting officer is killed... involuntary manslaughter.”

  • Why would I surrender my arm to an officer, who is just as capable of a violent criminal offence against my person, or persons as they would allege myself as? Never surrender your arm to the police, its an abrogation of your right to KEEP and BARE arms as soon as they take away your weapon, and violates their Oath of Office, and your unalienable rights to self defense or offence in thee defense of others. Who knows you may actually need to defend your self from the police with that gun or knife.

  • That guy's advice is plain dumb but why would I be surprised? Tell the half-brain donut-eater who can't really handle the power he was given that you have a gun? And what? Then he attacks you and in court he'll say you threatened them? No thanks.

  • How do I tell an officer theres a dead body in my car?

  • @skellens42 Officer, please don`t get a warrant and open my trunk.

  • @skellens42 The same way. Tell him right away, how it's packed, where it's located.

  • "best way to tell a police officer that you are armed put your hands where she can see them..."

"She"? Since when is police officer a woman? As though it's not fault enough to be a woman, she must also add to it by becoming a police she-officer?

  • very wrong advice

  • of course this cop is trying to get you to not use your rights

  • @6muffinstuffer9 How is telling a police officer that your armed, suspending your rights? what does it infringe on?

  • @6muffinstuffer9 How is telling a police officer that your armed, suspending your rights? what does it infringe on?

  • @6muffinstuffer9 ..of course .. its COP! working for FED and bankers to protect them from people.

  • If you have a concealed carry permit that means you are legally able to carry it, not a criminal so if you tell them they will automatically search you violating your rights.... Does not make sense!!!

  • The fact that the US laws vary so much from state to state, sort of renders this advice invalid

  • Always let the gun do the talking.

Wave your pistol in front of the cop and loudly yell, "I've got a gun! I've got a gun!"

He'll take care of the rest.

  • In Alaska it is a crime not to tell a cop that you are packing. Remember, in Alaska you don't even need a permit. Anyone eligible to purchase a gun is eligible to carry. If a cop pulls you over or otherwise stops you, you simply say, I am carrying a weapon. He will usually ask you for it. He will take it and hold it or put it on the hood of the car until he is done with his business. He will then hand it back and that is that. A cop has no way of knowing if you are a threat or not.

  • if its a traffic stop,he dosent need to know that im carrying a gun.

  • If I have a gun in my glove compartment and they ask to see my vehicle registration, I will tell them about the gun. If I have it in my console or some other place I don't even mention it.

  • This is bad advice, period. If an officer stops you & goes through the motions, the first thing he/she will tell is why they pulled you over (ie: speeding). He/she has no right to blatantly ask you what's in your car. That's not the nature of the stop. Unless your gun is w/ your registration, you can respectfully refuse to answer that question as it is not their business what's in your car. If your gun is w/ your registration then tell them to avoid getting shot by an overreacting cop.

  • I say "My legs, My legs.....hahahaha heel !" heheheehe

    Booooo Yaaaaaah

    ^..^

  • I think this is bad advice, unless the local laws require you to declare you're armed. Unless you've committed a crime or a serious traffic offense for which you maybe arrested, it's no one's business that you are legally carrying concealed.

  • I have talked to cops about this very question and since carrying I have been pulled over twice. Both times I handed over my cpl along with my license and reg. That way the cop can initiate the gun question in a non-threatening(to officer) way. THis is the way cops have answered the question when I put it to them, in a social setting (ie not in the act of being pulled over.)

  • well... if your not white its a automatic jail sentence

  • @karazze0285 dont get mad because most non whites dont have a CCW bro

  • Can't go wrong either way. Let them know up front or don't tell them unless asked. Depends on what they pulled you over for right?

  • There is no Constitutional law that says we have to have Police whom are not elected by the people to arrest or detain the people, This is what a police state does not a Republic. The real Law is the Sheriffs they are elected to protect the public by swearing an oath. BUT the Sheriff has drop the ball and has allowed themselves to be comprised of penal codes & Statutes from the Feds to the State law makers undermining their Oath of Office to the public.

  • So the officer can take appropriate actions to protect themselves? That is very disingenuous, as if the fact someone is carrying that makes them dangerous; by that logic the officer is dangerous. So tell me about the training, or other things that make police officers have more rights then the other citizens of there respective states? Also remind me about all the times when police kill innocent citizens because the are just people who make mistakes also.

  • @jomo766 It's about information. The cop knows you have a weapon in the glove box, holstered to your leg etc and as long as you don't go lunging for it they will be reasonably relaxed. They are trained to always assume a traffic stop could go wrong, and it's psychologically easier to know what you're facing. Besides, a CHL shows you are a responsible gun owner who is following the law. There are parts of the country where it's still legal to have a gunrack and rifles in your car without a permit

  • Officers have a tough job... I get it. But, somebody please tell me exactly how anyone telling an officer that they are armed makes the officer safer? Do you think that the guy who WOULD actually shoot an officer is going to say, "Pardon me officer, but I have a gun that I plan to shoot you with." I'm thinking not.

  • @lowdown068 I'll tell you how it can make it safer, if for whatever reason that cop finds the gun and you 'didn't' tell them about it, they can get real ugly real fast because they feel like you tried to get the drop on them. Imagine he asks for registration and you open the glove box and he sees it, or you get patted down and they find it, or you wait until you're getting patted down to tell them, it can be tense.

  • @ A cop has no reason to pat me down.

  • You got to love them chargers.

  • The interesting part is that by informing the police officer of the presence of a weapon in a state that does not require you to do so. Does this not open you to a "Request" for a search, all for officer safety? And everything they find is admissible due to the exigent circumstances?

  • What if you have a pocket knife for self-defense ?

  • When pulled over by the police it's always best to show respect for the law and obey the officers commands. If carrying concealed at the time of the stop obey the law of the state regarding traffic stops and concealed weapons. The life you save may be your own.

  • @JPBill2 Doesn't respect for the law then mean that I shouldn't tell them, because the law says I don't have to.

  • I don't get it? Why not just pull it out and show him?

  • @NihilistsSuicideClub Because pulling a gun on a cop is not a very polite move, I dare to presume.

  • I dont feel like we should have tell the cops anything, becasue they wont tell us anything in return <From my one experience with an officer.

  • My dad was a deputy sheriff for ten years. He told me to have both hands on top of the wheel where they can be seen, turn my head toward the officer and tell them straight off "Officer, I am armed there is a BLANK and is loaded/unloaded in BLANK." Then to do what the officer instructed to show them the weapon and make it not a threat to them. Been pulled over twice while carrying concealed, did it both times, the officer got nervous but never abused their power.

  • With both hands on the wheel..."Sir / Ma'am, I have a CCW and/or a firearm in my car or on my person."

    That is all it takes.

  • heh, it's open carry legal where I live. 8^) concealed carry is a worry for me.

  • Well you gonna pull them pistols or whistle dixie?

  • I have been pulled over 3 times since I started carrying - I notified the officers immediately each time that I was carrying: I have never been asked to surrender or even show my weapon. I have never gotten anything but a positive response because of my upfront notification. When they run your plate they will see that you have a CPL: It is best to avoid the mystery & bring it up yourself.

  • People, I live in a family of LEO's and this is what you do....DO NOT tell them you're packing unless you want to be face down in the dirt with their gun pointed at your head!! Only tell them if you're being asked to get out of the car. NEVER NEVER NEVER tell them you're carrying on a routine traffic stop. There is just NO need to open that can of worms on an everyday routine traffic stop.

  • No!

  • you should already have your carry permit and drivers license in one of your hands, both on the steering wheel.... then tell the cop if you have one in the car or not.

  • Tell him right away...so he can TAKE IT?? and make a simple traffic stop take all day?? Wait til it becomes relevant to the situation. How many times have you actually been more than just ticketed and on your way?

  • @KnivesAndFireArmsUK .......document?

  • @SaneReviews Nine Politzie! Nine!

  • @briansomethin oi, little help here, I can't find my comment.

  • @briansomethin you misspelt "NEIN" ya dumkopf...

  • In my state I don't have to tell them I have a gun so I won't. The real question is, how do I tell a cop I have rights? They never seem to understand that one.

  • @smalltownrudeboy Letting the cop know you are armed can stop your ass getting shot if the cop happens to see it while you're fooling around in the console/glovebox.

  • @jcmomo1: apart from what MOJONIXION wrote? Maybe because there's a non-zero number of coppers caught on videos (you'll find some easily on YT) kicking handcuffed women on back of the head, pounding on incapacitated arrestees, using unauthorized deadly force (read: shooting at people without warning or sound reason), giving elder citizens cardiac arrest with tasers etc? And since you're not obligated to - why give a window of opportunity to a possible bully?

  • luckily in MN we relieved our cops of knowing who carries gun and who don't ( after they sold gun permits exclusively to gangsters and to felons for years). MN statute 624.714

  • wrong advice. Officer has to initiate the gun conversation. For example: Sir, do you have any firearms in your vehicle?. Otherwise - 5th amendment right.

  • @wwaalltthheerr Not in Ohio if you have a ccw. If you are carrying you have to tell them right away. If you are not carrying, you dont have to say anything.

  • @wwaalltthheerr in some states youre obliqued to inform the cops if you have CCW on you.

  • @DudeNumberOnePlus Correct, is some sates you have to inform and in some you don not unless asked. In some states, they can't tell by running your plates.

  • @wwaalltthheerr thats the wrong advice. in wis. its required by law and per your ccw permit that you inform an officer you are carring. same in alaska and most other ccw states. people, if you hold a ccw permit, DONT LISTEN TO THESE PEOPLE COMMENTING ABOUT NOT TELLING THE POLICE! they r the reason we get fucked with all the time!

  • just wave the gun outside the window as the officer approaches.

  • Why is everybody saying its so bad to to tell a cop you have a permit and a gun?

  • @jcmomo1 you're inviting harrassment.

  • Why not just tell them you have a gun?

  • good to see a police officer doing some good as opposed to all the brutality vids on here

  • @ehow Thank you, thoes links would be great because i play on a daily basis and I would love to not wind up behind bars or in the ground because a police officer shot me.

  • Better off not rolling your window down and not talk to them at all.

  • Some states have laws on the books mandating CCW permit holders to tell police, immediately, that there are armed. In those cases I'd say that this video services as good advice. In states where there is no such law I wouldn't volunteer that information unless asked directly, if the gun is in the glove box which I need to access, or if I am asked to step out of the vehicle.

If the weapon is exposed on your hip or somewhere else in plain view I'd probably tell them upfront too.

  • Laws in the mid-west requires you to do this.

  • 1:03 "He or she will take the appropriate measures as they see fit."

Which basically means the cop will pull his weapon on you, force you out of your vehicle and conduct an illegal search inside your car.

  • @GracieTriangle1 yup. i couldnt have put it any better.

  • Ok so what if your going to the shooting range do they want to know that too?.

  • Uhh patriot you didn't know that police are armed? Were you attempting to be witty? You should probably just stop talking.

  • Funny how police don't tell us they have weapons.

  • @patriotofliberty1776 That's because you can usually see it right there on their hip...derp.

  • lol eHow... baaaaaaaad advice!

  • Never offer ANY information to an authority of the local, State or Federal government. Provide only the information relevant to the activity at hand and then only when queried.

  • New title how to get shot: the easy way

  • I just carry the damn thing on my hip. If a cop stops me, then I tell him and hope he doesn't freak out like that one ohio cop.... O.o

  • I usually just fire a couple of warning shots. Seams to work quit well.

  • This is horrible advice I told an officer i had a weapon once and he literally no joke took it as a threat and pulled his gun on me and made me get out of my car and then searched it without asking

  • @GODSWORD47 In a sense they should because you went through a back ground check and many would want to keep their cars and family et al --- but I for one would rather have everyone LAWFULLY armed to it's fullest measure with a Christian directive being obeyed --- better to have a majority of Christians with all of Gods laws in their heart exercising their God ordained right for protection than JUST ANY ONE with NO judicial law of righteousness in their hearts making a judgment call

  • hello sir may I see your...... I GOT A GUN!!!!

  • @Dogmeat1950 LMAO!

  • The first rule I always tend to find success with is to never give them a reason to pull you over. Don't speed, drive aggressively, have burned out lights, out of date stickers, California stop, or look at cops funny when they drive by. If you really are a responsible gun owner to begin with, be just as responsible about your road behavior.

  • @mobieus7 HAHAH that's the problem too a TRUTH issue - because the roads ore for commercial TRAFFIC not an individual exercising the liberty of the way in a normal conveyance of the day.

  • @ChristianArmorOfGod You need to read the letter of the law again. See how prevalently the word TRAVEL is used. Many states also go as far to define what they mean by travel. Stop confusing opinion with fact when law is concerned.

  • @mobieus7 It's already been established - you should support the facts of the matter instead of an agenda to push.

  • I laughed while listening to this video. It's so ridiculous.

  • That's mandatory in some states but not mine ..

  • that's what they do...they take your sidearm and run the numbers everytime...so your 15min pullover time has now gone into 45min.

  • Never volunteer information like this.

  • Don't listen to advice from someone who's job most of the time is to ticket you for more money.

  • don't tell.....don't volunteer anything

  • NEVER ever follow this advice

  • @ChristianArmorOfGod not sure why you would say that. As long as there is not confrontation and it is a "regular" traffic stop, should not be a problem, correct?

  • @Lean540 Because of the fallen world we are in - Not wise… the police in general are gaining too much aggression and hatred for truth and don't know their PLACE - they are NOT the master and they can not MAKE LAW up just because they desire --- I could go on - so in short - if the cop is respecting his role and my authority - and does not step over his lawful mandates - then HE does NOT have anything to WORRY about. However if he does cross the line - his blood is upon himself.

  • @ChristianArmorOfGod I couldn't agree more in almost every aspect. The only way I would alert the officer when stopped is if it was on my person or, If I was legally required to do so, for the very reasons you state. You can see more than a few videos here on yt of serious harrassment once alerted the gun was there. Communicate only what is legally required. These days the bad cops, unfortunetly, are extremely bad and the good stand by as they seem to be outnumbered or, don't care.

  • Although I did have a ball emptying my pockets on the cops hood once. 4 guns, 2 knives, and 200 rounds later he told me to pick it up and get out of here. Still had 50+ rounds and another gun to go. Nothing like traveling lite sometimes, not even a ticket.

  • He'll find out if he pulls his the old fashion way.

His safety is irrelevant he can leave, MY SAFETY is paramount.

But if it makes him feel better he can have one, and I'll keep the other till I get it back.

Now if he tells me he saw the gun driving and it is a suspect, then I will not help the accused flee from justice.

But for utah, I would maybe try...

"It's in my other wife's purse"

  • Why do I need to tell an officer I have a gun? If I am just being pulled over for an aledged moving violation doesn't mean I even have to give that officer access to me or my vehicle. I only need to crack the window in a manner that always for the conversation and to hand my license and registration. Other than that I have the right to remain silent.

  • Where I live I'm not require to tell anyone that I am armed, under any circumstances.

I have no obligation to tell anyone, and I don't.

Legally speaking my gun in none of LEO's business.

    I'm legal, it's legal.

If I broke a law then the officer has a duty to enforce the law, but I cannot even imagine breaking a law with a gun.

The secret is --> Don't get stopped, stay legal, drive within the speed limit, have correct tags, stop at signs and lights, etc.

    This is NOT rocket science.

  • I see no point of informing a LEO if your state isn't a must inform state. All it will do is waist your time and his. If you are going to be patted down or arrested that's another story, but on a routine traffic stop, why?

  • I'm fifteen and i was playing air soft in the woods, i saw a police officer and dropped my gun instantly dropped my gun and raised my hands up saying it was an air soft gun, The cop said i should have walked up to him as well, but would that not startle a police officer? Shouldn't you stay where you are?

  • @xXRawrRichRawrXx To be honest buddy I think you did the right thing. What if he was responding to a report of someone with a gun? What if he didnt see you drop it?

I shoot pidgeons for sport and pest control with an air rifle. I leave my pellet tin open on the car hood and never stray far from it, I keep the barrel broken at all times and safety on until I see a legitimate target and I'm in position. If someone approaches me I just lay the rifle down on the bag or car.

  • @Furicist THanks, and is hunting pigeons legal? because my friend does the same thing and asked me to goth him and i was not sure if it was legal.

  • @xXRawrRichRawrXx Yes it is, so long as you are shooting on land you have explicit permission to do so and you are not firing in a way in which either the pidgeon is on someone elses land (unless you have permission on that land too) and the pellet at no point leaves the land on which you are firing or crosses over land which you do not have the permission for. You must not shoot towards, over or near any person, nor are you permitted to fire within or allow your fire to come..

  • @xXRawrRichRawrXx ...within about 50 feet of the centre line of a public highway IF this causes anyone to become impeded, injured, interrupted or endangered.

ALWAYS carry your gun uncocked, unloaded until you are ready to fire. Mine is a single shot, so I carry the pellet in my hand with the barrel broken until I am ready.

If you are firing and there is a backstop behind the target (pidgeon or other animal/target) then the backstop is where the pellet ends, so dont...

  • @xXRawrRichRawrXx consider anything beyond that as a problem so long as beyond all reasonable doubt, your pellet wont miss the backstop, go through it or ricochet off and hit someone. You are legally required to dispatch injured quarry as quickly and humanely as possible. If you allow it to suffer while wounded unnecessarily, you are breaking the law, so carry a lump of wood just incase your rifle somehow disintegrates in your hands after you injuring it. Inbox me if you want..

  • @xXRawrRichRawrXx ...any other information, I am more than happy to help, additionally, I can send you some links with the fine print of all the stuff I told you.

  • @xXRawrRichRawrXx You did the right thing. Drop you gun. Hands up. Stay put. I'm ex mil mp and I think you did a fine job. I was recently hired for LE work in corrections (not the same as police, but same team... badge included) Once I'm in the network, I'll ask a state trooper sometime what their advice would be and relay it back to the thread. I'm currently a ccw permit holder as well and plan to hand my permit along with my driver's license should such an even occur. I'll get info back to ya.

  • Handing the police officer my ID's during a traffic stop not only displayed honesty, but got me out of my speeding ticket. In Colorado, I have no problem showing the officer my ID's- makes for a smoother, quicker, experience when crossing paths with LE.

  • Jim Gaffigan.

  • I made the mistake of volenteering that I was carrying a gun in a locked glove box once and the officer took my gun while he wrote me a ticket then wasted more time while he ran the numbers on the gun. Now I carry my car paper work in a clip-wallet on my viser so there in no need to volenteer the information. If a cop asks me if I'm armed I will then tell them.

  • @MOJONIXION I had that happen to me years and years ago in Colorado (South Park no less). Driving with a holstered 1911 on the dash of the pickup & was pulled over. The officer made a big stink out of it, where was I from, where was I going, why did I need a gun...he took it back to his cruiser and ran the serial number, then came back and gave me a big lecture...to make a long story short, I sat on the side of the road for an hour before he let me go with no ticket.

  • @MOJONIXION thats exactly why I dont tell someone unless asked, and if asked I will say they do not have my consent to run the serial or to seize my firearm. In most states the mere presence of a firearm carried by someone is not PC to detain someone or mere presence of a firearm to go in and seize it. There have been cases where that has been challenged. State v Jones in GA is a prime example.

  • @MOJONIXION you pretty much surmise why this eHow advice is asinine from perspective of the law-abiding citizen.
