@456japs sidewindercomputers(dot)com sells them not sure what other places sell them, just search PFB1212UHE in any search engine, you should be able to find other places.
@super6plx sorry, didn't work out....when i first tried to buy them on ebay i was twenty seconds to slow and it ran out with 0 bids :D second time i didn't bid enough, unfortunately. but that would indeed have been pretty interesting to see 15 of those killer-fans :D
You're nuts for turning that thing on unmounted. I saw the white in your thumb holding that thing.... lol thanks for the demo. I will not be purchasing anything this big.
I was playing around with my Delta Fan Model AFC0912DE. It's so efficient, I tried running it at 12v=1A but it goes & stops for some reason. 12v=0.8A is the butter zone. But I was a goof to see if I can stop it with my fingers, Then they slipped and the blades broke off. All I'm left with is a bloody finger. I was going to post a video too, I ordered the same Delta Fan AFC0912DE because there is no CPU fan in my DeLL now.
has anyone had any experiance with this and an adjustable speed controller ? i wonder how much that helps to reduce the sounds. i really want one of these!!!
I bought one just for the hell of it, and the video+ more bass is basically how loud it is. (btw, i also got a fan grill) put a kleenex into it, and it made kleenex snow ;P
Too bad these cost around $35 a piece. I would dare someone to stick their finger in it. Well then again, Delta has a 6000 RPM fan (QFR1212GHE-F00 or QFR1212GHE-PWM). It "only" has a 210 CFM rating but it would make an even nicer effect on your fingers.
@tet5uo if you want to build a jet pack, there are brushless electric ducted fans which are used in r/c jets that can spin over 40,000 rpm and produce way more thrust than even this delta fan...lol
I wonder what temperatures you would have if you replace the stock cooling fan on a water cooling radiator and replace it with this one? Probably 8'c!!
Thanks for this video! I appreciate your talk in the beginning since it's then possible to set the volume properly to usual conversation volume. The only thing I can say... Insane! RROD on the 360 would go to BROD. Blue, as freezing. ;-)
@quasardz I was just sitting here thinking how those things should have a mesh cover on both sides because I remember how a ordinary fan skinned the tip of my finger.
mow many amps are needed for that cooler?

Are those standard ATX 120mm or 140mm mounting holes? Who would put this in a PC unless they were deaf or didn't mind becoming deaf? :P
nikanj 8 months ago
You gotta be fucking nuts to pick that up with your bare hand. If the fan blade even nicks you, you'll be losing a finger tip.

For the sake of total correctness, it's not centrifugal force - it's gyroscopic precession. :)

lol if you're at the point where you need this much CFM in your PC, I'm not sure what to tell you. Invest in hearing protection.
I'm going to build a jet-pack out of 30 of these. I'll let you guys know how it works out.
