Ainu's D (YAP) is an old haplotype and brother to E and it is found among the people living in the Middle East and the Mediterranean Sea too. I didn't (nor does any other scholar) say that Japanese people and Korean people are exactly the same. What I am saying is that modern Japanese person has some Korean DNA (25%). Another thing to add here is that the Ainu and other Austronesians (the descendents of the Jomon) come from the same racial stock as the Australian aborigines. If you look at "pure" Ainu today and compare them with Australian aboriginals they look quite similar facially (except that the latter are more darker skinned).
This means that the heavy mongoloid features of the modern Japanese must come from somewhere. That somewhere has to be from Korea (and ultimately Siberia/Central Asia).

I have no nationalistic feelings towards either Japan or Korea, since I'm a Canadian, but I do hope some of the Japanese here bashing the Korean guy realizes that scholars have established the genetic connection between Japan and Korea.
It is true that a lot of Japanese have the unique D2 haplotype but they also have a lot of O2b (Korean) and O3 (Chinese). Modern Japanese are a mixture between the Yayoi people from Korea (Altaic) and the Ainu/Jomon, whether you like it or not.

Japan is a society where one must blend in thoroughly to be accepted. While traveling through Hokkaido years ago, I found that Ainu people were quick to talk to me, because I was clearly not Japanese but could speak Japanese. They talked of discrimination, and the difficulty of people with Ainu ancestry getting good jobs in their own homeland, which is thoroughly controlled by the Japanese.

I didn't (nor does any other scholar) say that Japanese people and Korean people are exactly the same. What I am saying is that modern Japanese person has some Korean DNA (25%). The Yamato people mostly came from Paekche and mixed with the Jomon/Ainu/Austronesians. Today's Japanese people are mix between Koreans and Jomons. You're not 100% Oceanic people. Another thing to add here is that the Ainu and other Austronesians (the descendents of the Jomon) come from the same racial stock as the Australian aborigines. If you look at "pure" Ainu today and compare them with Australian aboriginals they look quite similar facially (except that the latter are more darker skinned).
This means that the heavy mongoloid features of the modern Japanese must come from somewhere. That somewhere has to be from Korea (and ultimately Siberia/Central Asia).

I have no nationalistic feelings towards either Japan or Korea, since I'm a Canadian, but I do hope some of the Japanese here bashing the Korean guy realizes that scholars have established the genetic connection between Japan and Korea.
It is true that a lot of Japanese have the unique D2 haplotype but they also have a lot of O2b (Korean) and O3 (Chinese). Modern Japanese are a mixture between the Yayoi people from Korea (Altaic) and the Ainu/Jomon, whether you like it or not.

@kaisermuto black current is one of roots and yes, okinawan might come from this root. the others are china root, korea root and sakhalin root. i think ainu had come from sakhalin root and in fact, my ancestor had moved to hokkaido from sakhalin at ww2. russian ainu had moved to japan at russian revolution in 1917 and ww2 in 1945. so black current is only one of japanese roots especially for okinawan.

Japanese have more tropical features because of Negrito-like D2 influence. That's why they have more Austronesian DNA (3-5%) than Koreans. Japan is a society where one must blend in thoroughly to be accepted. While traveling through Hokkaido years ago, I found that Ainu people were quick to talk to me, because I was clearly not Japanese but could speak Japanese. They talked of discrimination, and the difficulty of people with Ainu ancestry getting good jobs in their own homeland, which is thoroughly controlled by the Japanese.
