  • People quit complaining about the framerate...I'm on a dual core Acer laptop with Intel graphics card. I get 20 frames per second on "Original" settings.

  • now i need a 4k res 85inch flatscreen

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks i7

  • lol those waves were barely surfable.

  • The perfect internet speed test. Went from 10MBPS to 35.

"Hey internet, I know you used to struggle with 1080p but I need you to load this 4K footage"

    "No problem, boss."

  • Vimeo HD looks WAY better than youtube 4K

  • Looks compressed. I'm watching it on my 2560X1440 display and it just looks like the video wasn't uploaded too well.

  • IPod touch 4G Retina Display with A4 chip can plays this fine :)

  • @joeyswichzerg That's because you're watching it in 720p

  • 1080p was never quite good enough.

  • @evanjames93 1920x1080 is actually considered as a low resolution with a computer. it's all about 2560x1600 for now.

  • @gainpro yeah almost 5% of all computer monitors has that resolution. Besides, you mean 2560*1440, because the 1600p monitors are 16:10 aspect ratio which is history.

I have a 2560*1440 iMac which has stunning display performance, and I have to say all those youtube videos look awfully compressed.

At the time of writing, <= 1080p users aren't really missing anything.

  • @h4x0y most 2560x1440 monitors are used for color and lighting accuracy(which i can guarantee you will not find with mac products, generally their ok, but they're for the masses) and is in the 16:9 media standard. as for the res i mentioned, it is the max res for dvi, and is the highest available for the masses, and also offers the 16:10 standard for all computing tasks, which offers more real-estate.

history? or a ratio that doesn't fit your needs? considering the imac, it's ratio not for you.

  • @gainpro apples 27" display is great for prosumers. Higher quality displays are only needed by specific professionals, and cost some grands more than apples thunderbolt display.

Generally all 16:10 displays are being replaced by smaller, higher pixel density 16:9 displays (30" 1600p -> 27" 1440p, 24" 1200p -> 21" 1080p). The industry is moving towards 16:9 and you can read as many articles as you want about it, prove me wrong. >1080p is still a tiny percentage of monitors at the moment.

  • @h4x0y no monitor a tv above 1080 is going to be interlaced.... you don't have to put "p" cause i'm pretty sure i'll know it's progressive... anyways the 30" 2560x1600 is the same pixel density as it's 16:9 counterpart, hence why it's at 27".

here's where your probably confused. the industry your talking about, is the media industry, in fact it is them who started the 16:9 ratio as a standard, now what i'm talking about... is the computer industry, and the two ratio standards are 5:4 and 16:10.

  • @gainpro 5:4 is mainly the 1280x1024 resolution which is hard to find these days. and 16:10 WAS a standard until about 2008, now all leading companies are striving towards a consistency that all monitors are 16:9 (whether media or computer indrusty), you can have a look at their websites to see their current products. Density is higher on the 27", if you do the math, it's 109ppi for the 27" and 101ppi for the 30" with 2560x1600.

  • @h4x0y oh you right about the pixel density, well what ever it doesn't matter, the main comment was about max res and as of this date, we can get 2560x1600, -and considering how far off topic we got- that's that, end of discussion, nough said, sayonara, will not read next reply, done with this ridiculous shit. o/

  • @gainpro sorry bro there were 4k resolution tv's at ces this year(3840x2160) lg 85 inch

  • @BOB1BERSERKER cool story bro. where do you buy one? nuff said. "bro"

  • @gainpro thanks bro...

  • @gainpro yeah, just wish i had the set up for it.... I've got a monitor that supports 1920x1200P but thats as close as i'll get for now.

  • My Vista computer hates me now......

  • ATI Eyefinity with 4 1920x1080 monitors arranged in a rectangle would play this at native res.

  • It's not 4k on youtube, I tried original and the 1080p setting seems better (bear in mind, im on 2560x1600 with double the pixels (4million vs 2million) of full HD so I can notice a difference.

  • My 4 year old gateway with an intel Q6600 at 3 Ghz plays this fine.

  • ha, my laptop cannot play this video smoothly. GT540m here

  • So i can run two windows of this playing at the same time. But if i open a third it gets all chop :(

  • Typical eastcoast skunk session. I know(jerzey surfer). Wot does he do wit black bag? Would like to see the true trip wit 4" snow, 36F air, 38F water, and pumping winter surf.

  • Finally a use for Eyefinity Resolutions.

  • more resolution than the reality ....

  • If I had a dollar for every pixel in this video, I'd have $4000

  • @wtfisitpjur Nope, 4k resolution = 4096 × 3112, which then equals 12 746 752, therefore if you had a dollar for every pixel in this video you'd have $12,746,752.

  • those are some small ass waves.

  • A macbook air 1,6 dual core plays this fine :)

  • @wouterdeleeuwecht yea it really does

  • In soviet russia 240p is HD Resolution.

  • con la calidad original no se ve nada en mi humilde integrada Intel G31 de 256MB :(

  • kk a minha é geforce 6200 kkk nem aguenta full hd 1080p

  • People have a misconception with resolutions. Yes, none of our monitors can't pump out anything close to 4k. But the pixel density is far higher than that of 1080p, so videos will seem clearer even on a 1080p monitor.

  • That awesome moment when you can watch 4k videos without lag.

  • should a checked surfline

  • my graphic card can't stand 4k

  • the only way this would be more impressive than a 1080p video for instance, is with a MASSIVE, probably 3D without glasses, pristine detail TV or Monitor.

  • Comment removed

  • high definition

  • Nice graphics quality, but video is boring -.-

  • Damn this quality, I used to watch 240p, but then I took a 4k to the knee.

  • @Rabbitto09 so fucking boring

  • lol i'm loading this 4k video with 45000-50000kb/s

  • Core i7

    Gefore GTX 480

    8 GB of ram

Wtf do i need to watch this perfectly o.ô

  • @Eizt3e update your drivers, runs fine 2600k 8gb mem gtx275

  • PC ran it perfectly, no lag, and no buffering =0

  • my computer can handle it :D trifire 6620G + 6750m

  • 2600k stock clock with 8GB Ram and Geforce 560ti has this handled

  • There are no fucking WAVES???? come to California geez

  • I just got pissed on by a reindeer.

  • Damn my pc can hardly handle this.

When playing this video in 4k:

Amd Athlon Dual core @ 3GHz- 100% usage

    4GB ram- 1408 free

Nvidia 9800 GT 1GB- 6-8% GPU Usage. Driver fault?

But in 1080P its up to 22% usage.

    0% Video engine load?

    Driver Version: 285.62

    Bandwidth: 26Mbps+ down

Overall video experience: Lots or Lag

  • lol tried on original computer just shit all over it's self. i'll just stick to 240p because i have a mac

  • solid 24fps on amd 960t 4ghz and 8800GTX

  • streaming this in original quality no problem. Upgrade your internet noobs

  • It Lags!!

  • This movie sucks.. he never even surfs!

  • Comment removed

  • I don't even know why I'm watching this in 4k, it's not like any of us actually have a 4k monitor or TV.

  • @CynicalVision split this video into 4 parts and watch every single one

  • @CynicalVision looks beastly on a 2560x1440 monitor though :D

  • @CynicalVision Its to test the power of our computer.

  • @CynicalVision ha u actualy need a4k monitor wtf is 4k anyway

  • @idan124

    I think it's 4096 × 3112.

  • @CynicalVision True that!

  • @CynicalVision It is still sharper, fact. :D

  • @CynicalVision I've nearly got it. 3x1080P... Not quite 4k vid, but close.

  • @CynicalVision the simple reason to watch it is, even on a normal 1920x1080 screen a 4k video will always look better then a 1920x1080 video because a 1920x1080 video is compressed and not necessarily using all the pixels, but a 4k video willl use every last pixel on the display, so it looks better, thumbs so everyone can see this plz!

  • Love the new MacBook pro! Runs this like it's nothing :D

  • My graphics card just bursted into flames!... =O

  • if i get a penny for every pixel in this video i would be RICH!

  • Original = 4k reso?

  • @PakkiNakki yes it is :)

  • @PakkiNakki

    Yeah :) Raw video

  • @PakkiNakki yep

  • i didnt know about the original

    woooow sweet

  • studio XPS

    i7 - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670

    runs gr8 , but buffering alot .

  • my computer buffers and plays it perfectly, and its a laptop!!

  • @TheAndroidNerd That's because you had it on 360p

  • @JMacMarketing uh no, lol im a computer guru and I think I know how to select the quality and change it to original...I just have a good laptop is all and not a piece of shit one :) :P

  • Comment removed

  • what was the 4k quality reco with, a microwave?

then a you see is some other guys video with 8k quality and it is like 3the 360p

  • Runs fine on AMD Bulldozer FX-8150 and HD Radeon 6970. Weird seeing this quality on Youtube :)

  • Looks like a computer game lol.

  • fake

  • kkkkkkk travo tudo \o/

  • video without lag!

    nice run!

  • how many time did you wait for upload this video?!

  • @mjfaak 10 sec

    speed internet 55mbit/s

  • I want to punch him in the face

  • running great on my HP ProBook 4530 s.

  • why show 4K video when nobody has a monitor to watch it on? (except some hollywood studios)

  • Watching this on a 2560x1440 27" screen. Looks awesome.

  • @AleksandrsLV imac 27?

  • @OscarBPmusic if so I know what you mean

  • @OscarBPmusic yup

  • @AleksandrsLV i7 or i5?

  • @OscarBPmusic i7, 16gb memory

  • shit man. i used to have a nvidia gpu which left my cpu usage on this video at 5-10 %, now i have a onboard radeon x1200 which lets my cpu do everything resulting in just as smooth video as before but 80-95 cpu usage on a phenom 2 x6 3,2ghz

  • Runs smooth as butter on my Q6600 oc from 2.4 to 3.4 ghz :D

  • muuno

  • Comment removed

  • Yay for taking forever to load on a prety beast machine... cant wait till 2035 when this is the normal quality for videos xD

  • I looked in my taskmanager, and it was on 20-30% CPU useage, and when i pressed play it increased to 96 % haha

  • There goes my bandwidth.

  • 8fps in Original 4K setting, 25fps in 1080p setting!

  • cant see the 4k option? what wrong?

  • @warezakias1admin Can you see the "Original" option? Original is 4k, which is the "original" resolution this file was uploaded in. Then Youtube downconverts it to 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p, and 240p.

  • @talldude123 I can see only the 360p, 480p and 720p. thanks for your interest.

  • @warezakias1admin

    It is called "Original"

  • @IchDerComputerFreak i can see only what i noted below: 360, 480 and 720p.

  • all that effort they get there and the surfs shit.... bummer

  • My system is not top end and I can play this in 4k without a problem.

    Intel i5 2300k

    8 GB's of ram

    Nvidia GT 420.

  • Comment removed

  • Since I don't have a 4k display the resolution obviously isn't affected, but the increase in bitrate makes the video look a lot better than 1080p mode.

  • One pixel is like the size of an atom

  • What was this recorded with a banana?

  • Even in 1080p this still looks nice.

  • It is working normally on acer aspire predator G7700

  • This is what my GTA IV looks like.

  • 4k will never make it, cause we'll have 8k by then, cant wait to play GTA in 8k.

  • @eric04050607

I too suspect the possibility that 4k is going to be leapfrogged.

Largely because the public is only just catching up with 1080.

Small adoption for 4k? Hopefully sustaining interest. Next phase of mass assimilation?

    8k

  • oh, I cant watch in 4K my flash doesnt play :/

  • @TheDantonable You need an IMAX screen to play 4000p

  • @doug905 no, I mean, my flash cant render this in 4k, my pc freeze, and reboots... poor graphic card...

  • Very Nice, but dude there were no waves

  • smooth as silk! in 4K

    Specs:

    MBP

    Intel Core i5-540M

    4GB DDR3 ram

    Nvidia Gt 330

  • i watched this in 240p

  • What kind of camera could record this??

  • what, is that mean my 1088p HDTV is not the latest resolution out there

  • nice but...where are the waves?

  • Doesn't work. This 4k is like 3D, it's stupid, incompatible with almost every screen and computer and people don't need it.

  • ONE SECOND INTO THE VIDEO, A NOTIFICATION COMES UP. High usage by: Google Chrome

  • playing smoothly with my i3 and ati 5430 ahah in 4K, no need of an i7

  • @SuperbitOfficial

what's your detailed specs? my q6600 with geforce 9600gt 512 DDR3 VRAM and 2GB system should devour your i3, no offense to you, but it has trouble playing full screen 4K. it hangs well with 4K in smaller window.

Do me a favor, try "LUPE 4K", that is harder. I think the BIT RATE is much higher on that one...my quad-core has trouble playiing...keep in mind i am pretty sure, i have frag, registry dirt , and spyware clogging i never cleaned my computer of properly for 4 years.

  • @jackhammer10101 Lupe 4K is not smooth, some part are going smooth tho. But I find that the quality isn't that great. Anyway, it's pointless, my screen is only 1366*768, it was just testing !

  • It will be a miracle if my graphics card don't short out... I already have to use 2 external fans aimed at it just to cool it down, its fan isn't enough any more

  • 240p

  • @joseanzaldua that was hilarious

  • Stutters a little @ 4K, but WOW it this is amazing!

    My specs:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6550

    ATI HD 4670 DDR3

    2GB DDR2

  • 1 sec playback and 5 minutes buffering.

  • Wait, so i want single 1ghz mobile proccesor to run this ..???

  • If i had a dollar for every pixel of this video, i would be a billionaire.

  • not joking my computer almost died :(

  • cpu hat to use arround 90% of its power

  • 360p is like a 720p in this video

  • I did expected more quality! but thats good enogh for streaming video!

  • @zoomtko you know that you need a screen with a screen diagonal about 7,62m to play it in the real quality?

  • @Selfdestrucktion Yeah I got a Monitor 22" 1920x1080, and a tv 42" same resolution! the image is better in de 22" of course, but still not good as i spected!

  • @Selfdestrucktion besides the video has only 220 MB poor compression!

  • 54meg peak bandwidth pull on this... nice.

  • 4k on youtube looks really good on a 1080p computer monitor, youtube's 1080p videos dont look as sharp because of how compressed they are. watching a blu ray on a 1080p blu ray looks like youtube's 4k.

  • @ChillaxedJosh I noticed this myself and found out the reason why. When you select 1080p youtube only streams a limited number of Mbps, therefore giving you largely compressed footage (in fact if you zoom in close enough you can see 8x8 pixels). Whereas when you select 4k or Original the allowed number of Mbps (or bandwidth) is hugely increased giving much more detailed and less compressed footage.

    - Jamie

  • @ChillaxedJosh true...

  • I pressed play and I smelled something burning

  • @RobervalLalau I honestly did, care to elaborate?

  • Buffered in realtime, played flawlessly in Original mode... 1080p is like VHS compared to Digital Betacam.

Hollywood's not gonna dig this, since everyone needs like 15 extra layers of make-up :)

  • thank u for the fresh american dream in my london life in the autumn colours:)) thks

  • its beautiful.... even if it just looks like a bunch of photos....

  • right click your desktop and go to screen resolution. If it's under 4000P, you wasted your time.

  • @JamZ3646 Not really, it looks amazing on pretty much all monitors because of the re-size ratio being for example 3:1 pixels.

  • In 4k resolution it looks like a slideshow. Awesome.
