I love this song wish I could play like him! Or a lap steel! Its sweet man!!!! He goes from playing a accustic to playin a lap steel! Personally I think Dave Gillmores' a very overlooked artist and guitarist! Guys a genius man!!!
@ceepee1000 trust me, he's made his stamp and rock history, and a lot of fans and famous guitar players know this with conviction, and has one of the most memorable solos in rock history with comfortably numb ,as voted in guitar player magazine ! oh and by the way, they were voted the only act in rock history to have a state of the art, live sound and production!..EVER!! it's like being in one giant recording studio, so you can imagine the scale of putting that together !
@nichlaus77 yeah, this song resonates. 1 of the stand-outs in their entire catalog. this song actually turned me onto Floyd after hearing them for decades. with all of the mastery in the music, this 1 got my attention.
Does any one feel the same way as I do when it ends? A feeling like you would happily give a year of your life just to go back and be there? to Experience the magnificences of Pink Floyd. Because I do. I'm 17 and it makes me feel depressed the fact that I was only 2 years of age when this happened :-( Another thing I feel sad to the fact that I'm growing up in a age where this type of music is only something of the past. If a time machine where to be invented you know where I'm going back too.
@iLLUSiiONS111 mate just enjoy i'm 39 and iwas your age when i got into pink floyd just listen to as many albums as you can it's a pure feeling man and i hope u will be saying this in 20 years time ENJOY
i was round daves house the other day he said 'lee. want me to show you a few licks? ' i said ' fuck off dave, you can just about hold a guitar let alone play it you fraud'. we both collapsed in fits of laughter.for he knew i was right.............oh shit my alarm just went off.....
David Gilmour can play any musical instrument and the minute it makes a sound you are taken to another place. This and On the turning away off the Delicate Sound of Thunder concert are my 2 fav live songs by them. Yall have got to listen to the solo from Both
I saw this tour - June 1994, Vancouver, BC (B.C. Place). This was amazing!! I have loved Pink Floyd all my life. David Gilmour opened my eyes to being a true musician and not just a guitar player. His playing shows so much emotion and passion for the music. Pink Floyd may be gone as a band (RIP Rick Wright - you will be missed), but will live on in the memories of those they touched. I know I am one
Something familier comes crawling up my spine. Sends an echoe through my brain. Like a chain reaction. Acationally ends up in the slightly steam of tears within the vacuum of my eyes.
mon beau père le foutais a fond tout les week end, je comprends maintenant pourquoi, et en plus je suis un fan de nightwish depuis toujours, qui a fait une reprise magnifique. Les 2 versions sont parfaites
How david gilmour came up with that amazing melody is beyond me. its like the guitars crying. i feel like this is the only song that truly touches my soul
@DeathForRomance Look mate, I know it's not my fight, but don't you think that most of the new stuff in the music world is SHIT??? I mean - nothing's better today when everything's not original and hackneyed.
@sikolado Everything is exactly the same, it's just that people who say it's not hasn't really paid attention.
A lot of today's music talks about love, and has a chorus, just like the older shit...Some doesn't, some does. If you talk against it you're just proving your ignorance.
Proof that today does have good music, try listening to "Silhouettes" by Smile Empty Soul. Don't judge a book by it's cover, really try to feel and understand the song.
@DeathForRomance First, I'm probably younger than you (19.5). And I don't say that new music is shit. I'm SORT OF musician myself what means that I create today's music. But you need to show some respect for the old crap, 'cause It's what made the beginning for the rest of music today.
