they're double bouncing that way they can concentrate on doing the trick rather than trying to always be getting maximum bounce.

Also the longer you have you trampoline out in the weather, whilst still using it, the more tempered the springs will become which will enable them to travel further distances with breaking. The further they travel the more bounce there is to be obtained each jump.
