  • Newspaper is coated with plaster and safe to use. Acylic paint is used and is lso safe.

  • looks good but what is the news paper for and is any of this plaster or anything safe to make inside because i now some fish tank glew is like it and it is bad to do it inside and also is it just paint for the dirt and stuff

  • This is great, i want to do something like this with my scenic ridge set

  • howw u make the layout with buildings and roads cars, tress?.

  • xcellent

  • Nice layout, lots of action, too! Looks like you also included industry and other reasons for the railroad to exist. Overall, GREAT JOB! Judging by the speed your trains go around, you must have done a wonderful job on making sure the track & trucks are in great shape. Love the scenery, too. Cheers!

  • very nice work. i had one before it was donated without my knowledge. $500 worth

  • this is so boss

  • nice row of pinball machines!!!...

  • God, I'm crying... my old man died making an N-scale railroad as we'de always modelled N-Scale and he never got to finish it. nothing more to be said, but by god i'de wished i'd helped him finish it.

  • woodland scenics makes a nice, quiet foam roadbed... i install the WS stuff onto a grade-level substrate made of flexi-foam (from micheal's craft stores) layered over blue wood-laminate floor-silencing foam (home depot/lowe's). the two substrates have different dampening characteristics and combined with the woodland scenics stuff make for a quiet-running bench, even if it's all foam. airbrush-applied urethane for ballast instead of a wet white glue solution helps keep things quiet, too.

  • before i get hate e-mails from katophiles i want you to know i dislike ALL sectional track for creating and building layouts in n scale. EZ track, unitrack, power-loc are all reliable track products that are great for a quick setup on a coffee table or carpet, or for introducing kids to the hobby, but if you're into the designing and creation of a layout you'll be disappointed with the use of sectional track. layouts built with flex are easier to fix trouble spots and do upgrades/realign...

  • if you're that concerned about noise you should avoid using unitrack or any other sectional track.....unless you like the noise (which sounds nothing like real wheels and rails). i bought a bunch of blemished flex from life-like at 35 cents apiece and it works as well and looks much better than unitrack. unitrack stifles track plan flexibility/creativity and precludes the use of spiral easements- important for reliability with sharper curves in finer scales. its only good for temporary pikes....

  • 5:00 thats 1 hell of a train how did you get it to turn the corner without tipping?

  • the cost is more like 3500

  • Awesome layout, I have the woodland scenics layout that is shown in here. How did you come up with the plan to extend it? Do you have a blueprint by chance? I want to extend mine but have no clue as to what or how to do it

  • Nice layout. congratulations

  • How well do n scale models work, they seem too small but I've never seen up close. How small is n scale compare to ho

  • Awsome layout.

  • looks good!

  • I used 3 types of track. Regular snap, Flex and "Kato" brand track. The Kato is nice and easy bute very costly. I do not recommed mixing Katoi track with regular track.

  • @wallyrussell Great Job! Amazing!!

  • Did you use any flex track or is it all regular snap track

  • There is a HUGE difference between a "model railroad", and a "train set" layout.

  • very nice mountains but you might want to weather the buildings

  • It cost plenty. My guess $2,000

  • wow, love it

    how much did this cost?

  • i don't really like N scale that much cuz it's a little small for my liking i have HO scale but i have to admit this is the best N scale layout i've every seen nice work!!

  • Nice layout. wish i had a bigger one.

  • AWESOME....This is very nice and huge layout. I was wondering how long it tooks you to make the layout like this.

  • I take it you weren't going for realism or scale in your layout?

  • n scale is the best

  • @wallyrussell What about Z scale?

  • @wallyrussell There is no "best" scale. each has it's advantages and disadvantages. Though n is my fav as well.

  • wich are the most common scales used for building domestic sets??

Im getting started now and im not sure what to pick.

  • Congrats on the layout completion!... but one question where do you get the plaster cloth?

  • veary good

  • veary nice!, u could of used dirt or sand for a better look, but it lookes great so its just an option. u did a good jod.

  • Wow...great work.

  • The first minute of the song sounds like a sample of Coldplay's "Clocks" song.

  • how much track do yu want, jeese

  • you got to teach me how to make this layout and did you use kato n scale sets

  • to make layout is just by chance and lots of time trying different loops etc. Used some Kato, but do not recommend combining with normal track. Use ALL or none (Kato) Kato is the best.

  • @wallyrussell I have space for a 27" X 37" inch layout, and AM using Kato Unitrack....what radius curves should I use ?? Can you suggest any track ideas ? I want an oval, but can I double track in that space ?? Thanx in advance.

  • Another "no road" railroad. All that effort to make scenery and include autos but they use a teleporter or something because there isn't a single road on the whole layout. Amazing.

  • @587den007 Hey man, not everyone is a rivet counter

  • @Patricknows What does a lack of common sense have to do with rivets? For that matter why have scenery at all if it has no rhyme or reason? What is the effort for?

  • awesome layout but go slower its hard on the trains but nice job anyway

  • awesome layout but go slower please its hard on the trains

  • Просто заебись

  • I don't even wanna know how long it took to cover all that track with tape...

  • Don't go too fast now,it might fly off the track and smash on the floor.

  • how do you make plaster cloth or do buy it if where?

    great layout!!

  • i am making a train set at the moment and u know the stuff you put under the track is that so it dose not make as much noise.

  • yes and for looks too but for reducing noise sure thing.

  • good job.....but slow the trains down..lol

  • nice expansion of the scenic ridge kit....I am putting it together for my kids for the past week or so.....

  • how much did all that cost? looks real good :) nice job

  • Boy , He really has the speed torked Heh!,

  • I have an N scale layput. Yours is sooo good thought

  • Nice job!!!

  • Corny as Hell, but nice job on the scenery.

  • AWSOME!

  • have u tried leopord spotting your mountains? :D i've found it to look more realistic \. give it a try if ud like

  • Dude how much did this cost? cuz imma make one of there bitches!

  • One of these bitches eh?:P

  • Just the track and controls alone for this layout were probably $500+

  • WOW!!! amazing job! congratulations!

  • other than the trains going like 200mph its very nice

  • Its a great video..

I see some trains on the same loop. Are you using DCC?

  • that is beautiful i cant believe it its so cool

  • Wow, great video!

  • Lol, i like the quotes around finished. I love the layout. I wish i had that much space for my layout!

  • you may want to paint where the buildings are grey, so it looks like road. but your choice

  • lol 4:02 North Korea's favorite train!!!

  • lol

  • that so bad, but hilariously true

  • I see what you did there.

  • iran's too

  • @nickizxool HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHA

  • this video answered all my thoughts, 5/5!!!!

  • Nice lay out it I am drawing up plans for a N scale layout in my garage its kinda U shaped lay out basically going to have three table one is a 8' X 6' 4" then a 6' 2" X 6' then a 9' X 3' 6" one side is straight and the uther kinda U shaped. Im going to butt the tables up against the work bench and use it too. The work bench will be a steal mill the 9' x 3' 6" will be a city with a yard the 6' 2" x 6' will have a power plant highway and triple track main then the 8' x 6' 4" will be another city

  • why do you think it is a massive failure? I think it looks great.

  • hello, im just wondering but the locos you had pulling the train at the end of the video, one was a Providence and Worcester one...well at least it looks like one...what engine number is it? just being curious...i love the layout by the way...i have a smaller one of my own with mostly Providence and Worcester engines. Very cool tho! The video shows a lot of patience on your part!

  • Yes you are right. there is one Providence and Worcester engine. I have 16 total engines and 135 cars.

The engineS are a mix of CONRAIL, LMX, BNSF, MILWAUKEE, AND UNION PACIFIC AND A OF COURSE MY SUPER DOOPER Providence and Worcester.

  • nice five star!

  • good detail

  • very skillfull im impressed i wish i had you patience and modelling skills

  • That's quite a set-up you have there, I'm impressed with it.

  • where is ur track plan i want to steal it

  • some of this musci iis in gargeband on macs

  • My compliments! It's a great work you have done!!!! I never posted a comment till this moment so you dan immagine how I feel to do it for the very first time right now!!!! WOOOH!!!!!!

  • what companies do you use? i personally use kato and atlas for the most part.

  • that is one of the best ever layouts i have seen for a N scale train

  • You have "nuke carriers". lol

  • WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT AT 4:33 ??? Sounded like Godzilla attacking the city.

  • You have very good ears ... Yes that was really was Godzilla ... getting chased by a train.

  • LOL - well, I enjoyed it just the same!

  • what were all the songs you used?

  • it also happened at 5:03 and at 5:24 lol

  • very cool. i need to build my layout

  • me too. im starting, but im not anywhere close to being done

  • i have a n scale layout in the making its pretty cool im gonna upload a video soon

  • would you know what catagory nscale trains falls under.

  • Amazing how much track managed to get run here.

  • HI THEARE like it thats N SCAll you can put a lotfore N hek HO TO graet job happy holdays WKJR

  • my train set is kind of like that but i will get there

  • VERY nice. My layout won't even come close but, with very little room, I'll do the best I can.

  • wow! did you make that all by yourself? it's really good! :)

  • you did a great job.

  • put brown die in the plaster so mif you chip any of it it is not white.

  • I love the skiers

  • you should lay a grasscoat over the plaster instead painting to look more real but nice layout even tho

  • That is an awesome video showing the train layout being built in stages!!

  • that layout is so kick ass. you are quite the modeler. You know you should send in a picture of your layout to model railroader. if they like it they will send you 25 dollars if they post it in their magazine.

  • Rowan says, "that's awesome! When can I come see it?"

  • awsome i shoulda used n scale not ho

  • I saw it in person, its awesome!

  • that is really good

    what make are the trains
