I was not impressed and didn't really have then money to fix it or replace it and after just buying it didn't want to put more money into it. So I looked up what the problem might be on-line and then found your you tube video. Bought a $20 belt watched your video and voula. It made me feel like super women fixing my own dryer. Woo hoo. • Thanks. This was a great help. Just finished re-belting the dryer. Piece of cake thanks to your video. Only difference I found was the tension pulley was not a wheel on my Kenmore, but a rounded half-circle that belt just slides across. But I got the belt around it and it's drying now. (My wife's pretty happy with me.)

  • @104tom Great, thanks for the comment.

  • Great video easy to follow, but you make it look so damn easy to put the belt through the pulley and around the motor. I've been working on that step for over an hour and I haven't come any closer to getting it, my arms are on fire I feel like I've been working out for several hours. Is there a step I'm missing or is this an easier way of doing this, or are you just Incredible Hulk strong

  • @MPeluso386 It helps to use both hands if possible. Sorry I'm late with the tip and hope all is well.

  • Yo! Yo! Yo! Thank You sooo much for the handy video! My dryer works again now! Heck Yea!

  • @lisadodds2008 Good to hear that.

  • Thank you! Just finished putting a new belt ($20) on my older Kenmore dryer, and I'll bet I get another 10 good years from it! You're right about having two people, much easier...I'd also add that while you have everything apart, give it a quick vacuum...I can't believe all the dust that was in there!

  • @Donia65 That's a good idea. Thanks for sharing.

  • thanks awesome vid it helped me. im a first time home owner figuring out problems as i go. the belt wasnt broke but the tensioner came off and made a heck of a noise. i think it came loose cause its an old dryer that came with the house and its all coming apart and missig screws causing to much movement of the drum

  • @dakenhowlett Glad the video helped.

  • @runninonempty32 Good deal!

  • Your video was perfect, but I would suggest putting the models this applies to since there are so many different dryer repair videos on here. My idler puller just fell off the mount somehow and I could not figure out how to route the belt, your video was great for my brand new Roper dryer. Thanks

Thanks for that great video. I used a piece of twine through the two holes at the front top and under the drum to hold the drum in place when putting the belt through the pulleys and putting the front back on.

  • Thanks for posting your video on line. It was as easy as shown, and saved me from a dreaded service call. Do you do one on changing a heating element?

  • My tension pulley was off too.

I was spinning the drum by hand while cleaning a piece of gum that was stuck in it.

I have spun the drum by hand on numerous occasions without any problem

This time it knocked the tension pulley off it's mounting.

    Thanks for the great video!

  • @press8151 If you spin it backwards there is a good chance it will come off. I'm glad the video helped.
