so this Tim Fernholz has an elevator in his home in case a disabled person comes to visit, a brail telephone in case a blind person needs to borrow his phone. It would be nice if we all had an extra couple hundred grand to build our homes and businesses for everyone. Make our doors 6 ' wide for the bubble boy. Handy cap accessable washrooms in every home, no one allowed peanut butter for ppl allergic. Does his Gay strip clubs have female stripper for when straight males visit?
Because of the colour of their skin, Palestinians live like dogs on their own land because of the colour of the skin of Mr Fernholz's people. So when he talks about 'double standards' in this clip you can't help but fall from your chair in a fit of laughter.
fuck ron paul, if he ever got elected it would be a disaster in the U.S. he uses the same tactics that Hitler used before he got elected........ listen to his son speak for five minutes the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, their both racists
Did you know that Dr. Paul was AGAINST the 1964 Civil Rights Act? Do you even know what that law is all about? It was a landmark piece of legislation in the United States that outlawed major forms of discrimination against African Americans and women, including racial segregation. It ended unequal application of voter registration requirements and racial segregation in schools, at the workplace and by facilities that served the general public. He is STILL against it TODAY!
@thenewmike2012 I understand why you bring this up and I am not completely endorsing his idea on the bill however he explained it through a Constitutional viewpoint. The whole reason he voted against it was because property rights.
@xx8visionSxx The Constitution DEFENDS the Civil Rights Act. What Dr. Paul is missing or rejects is one of the MANY things it did was put an end to those "Whites Only" storefront signs that were EVERYWHERE back then. Lets say you open a mom and pop grocery store and put up that sign...well you own the store yes, but the electricity, water, gas, trash removal services, etc. Come from the city/state that ALL local/state taxpayers (including Blacks) pay for. Thats the problem with Pauls' argument.
@thenewmike2012 Yes I know and I understand but I was only defending Ron Paul's record because people try to say he is a racist when he truly is not. His heroes were MLK and Rosa Parks because they practiced libertarian principles and civil disobedience.
@xx8visionSxx Thats perfectly fine. Im just pointing out some reasons why Dr. Paul is not a realistic candidate for President this year or in the previous 2 times hes run. Add to that, his position on pulling ALL US troops around the world. The GOP would NEVER nominate him because the GOP LOVES wars. They are blood thirsty people and always have been. They simply CANT nominate Dr. Paul.

@omarlives Im not suggesting that you are illiterate, but where in my comments did you read me saying Dr. Paul is racist? Additionally, in your comment, you resort to calling me names like "ignorant" & "repugnant". Why? You present yourself, in your comment, as angry & crude. Its unfortunate that you dont comport yourself with the same class and dignity as the Presidential candidate you seem to be supporting. You are a discredit to REAL Dr. Paul supporters. Thank You.
@thenewmike2012 You didn't say it. That's what you are implying! Is it not!? What a coward you must be. Own up to your own views. You know you think he's racist. You don't have to spell it out for us, for us to get the message. It's called reading between the lines. What a scumbag you must be in the real world if this is how you conduct yourself online. Fucking, wuss.
@omarlives Wow, LOL, maybe you REALLY are under-educated after all. You seem to feel the need to resort to foul language & insults instead of using your education/intelligence, to express your thoughts & opinions. The ONLY reason Im still responding to you is to show YouTube viewers on this page what an intelligent Dr. Paul supporter DOES NOT sound like. Again, Thank You,
@omarlives Or could Dr. Pauls' position on the Civil Rights Act, mean that he has his own "unique" interpretation of the Constitution? One that I happen to disagree with. Understand this, my friend...In America, we ALL have the right to believe as we choose. However, when one of us decides to run for President, those beliefs come under great scrutiny. So, PLEASE dont try to "read between" the words of my comments, as you clearly are not educated well enough to do so. Thanks again.
@thenewmike2012 Or when you say, "He is STILL against it TODAY!", with emphasis on the words "still" and "today" and an exclamation point at the end, it obviously means you think he's racist, because what normal person says that and then implies, "Dr. Pauls' position on the Civil Rights Act, mean that he has his own "unique" interpretation of the Constitution?" You're not smart enough to contend with me with this "logic". You are losing epically. Stick to watching football.
their customers. Summarily, that racist company WILL go out of business in lieu of another company which was willing to provide services to blacks. Does that make sense to you?
We don't need the government to force rules and regulations on people. Contrary to the ideas that are hammered into everyone's head, in a REASONABLY ordered system, where education and communication are prevalent, most conflicts of interest will be resolved virtually on their own.
kind of racism without creating laws that infringe upon people's freedoms? It's quite simple. Boycott.
If a business refuses service to black people based on their race alone, it follows to reason that they lose all of their black customers. It follows to reason that they lose all of their customers with black friends. It follows to reason that they lose all of their customers who are not racist, all of their customers who are minorities, and generally all decent people who might otherwise be
I mean, the man in the video says the same thing, so whether you agree or disagree with the principles of Rand Paul, -no- one can reasonably decided, based on his statements, that he is a racist.
Now, to address the main point, should a private business be allowed to discriminate against other races? Absolutely. In a free country, a private business should be able to refuse business to whoever it wants, for whatever reason. I agree that such a practice would be wrong, but how do we prevent this
Should be legal for a business run by blacks to refuse service to whites, so it is a two way street. If Rand Paul truly FELT that his comments were inspired by racism, then he wouldn't utter them. He'd keep them to himself. He is willing to make those statements because he KNOWS they are not racist.
The thing is, a lot of politicians are racist but you don't know it because they don't say racist things. If you ask me, this goes more to show that Rand Paul isn't racist. He's willing to go out and say that he doesn't support ASPECTS of the Civil Rights Movement because of the intrusion into individual rights that it constitutes. He makes a statement that may sound racist but, in fact, has nothing to do with race. It's purely based on liberty. By the same token, Rand Paul would argue that it
@He101A yea thats cool if it a PUBLIC PLACE. but what about your house? thats private property. what if the government passed a law saying you had to let illegal iimmigrants stay in your house. Or lets go back to before the american revolution when king george forced the colonies to serve and provide room & board to british troops. THATS NOT RIGHT! if you privately own something you deserve a right to decline service or entrance or whatever to it. bc its yours! and i'm black.
Go back to "Republican roots?" I suppose he doesn't know history. Republican "roots" are defense of civil rights, regulation of business, and support of the middle class. Of course, this was before the great platform shift of the early 20th century. In other words, the platform of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt's Republicans was actually more like that of the Democrats today.
If YOU own a business, you should be allowed to run it the way you want to. I wouldn't want to go somewhere where I was not wanted anyways. Ron and Rand are NOT racist. They are about all about freedom... A lot of people just need someone to blame for something.
Large portion of my family is black and they love Rand and Ron paul, they know that they are libertarians which means that they are as anti-racist as possible. They believe all people are the same irregardless of color, religion, citizenship, culture, the point is that we are all human beings first.
Let's turn back the clock. Women should not be able to work - stay at home cook and fetch slippers when the man gets home. White people shouldn't be allowed to rap - they talk about stupid shit anyway. Rand Paul could lick my left nut, my right nut is reserved for you phony ass bigot Christians. Now these days, Conservative Republicans = Incognito White Christian Bigots. And you had to recruit an uncle Tom negro Herman Mcain - worst than Clarence Thomas.
Many Liberal Democrats act just like Conservative Republicans, stretching out facts, indenting assertions and misquoting all over the place. Ideologues are ridiculous no matter what side of the plate they're batting on.
If you believe in race, you are a racist. Race was created by elitist Europeans to divide the poor, create conditions for slavery so the people would be too busy looking at each other than the politicians and bankers who bleed them dry. If there is any hope for the USA, race most become obsolete and never used. ...if not, you'll fall right back in the same hole. ...or maybe cause another civil war. Race is not science, it's a lie.
"To see our brothers the same way." Don't forget our sisters, also. And as for your assertion, that (political?) ideology is learned from our parents and peers, is no more than a tautological statement. My reading of free-market economics, and of classical Liberalism, not radicalized, cultural Marxism, has taken me far on my road to greater personal freedom and dissent of statism and its advocates!
Much in the way of liberal-progressive legislation has done more to continue negative discrimination and a posture of dependence on a paternalistic state. Take a look at affirmative action, among other pieces of "progressive" legislation, that has done more to abridge private business rights than that of redressing social wrongs. I am well aware that the well-meaning aims of liberal legislation winds up confounding any meaningful discussion of the Constitution as the Supreme law. Esoteric? NO!
Racism is wrong. Everyone is a free individual/has the right to their private property. One is a subjective moral opinion. The other is an objective fact. As soon as we take the subjective morality of society and make it into objective law (the private title of the civil rights act), then we've destroyed the Constitution and instituded "mob rule". Period.
"Actual freedom is being allowed to achieve things..." This is just one variation on the time old socialist equalitarian argument that government must mandate equal outcomes for people of different abilities or means.
Mr. Fernholz should read a little Hayek and discover the difference between freedom and power. What he is advocating is that certain classes of people be given access to power, via government force. Freedom means freedom from coercion, not everyone being treated the same.
@purplepamphleteer But for many Liberals, the state, in its beneficient wisdom, can redress wrongs. And as your valid argument shows, such redressing means force not voluntary consensus.
Rand Paul is against the government using force, with federal laws, against poeple. the civil rights act, ect. is FORCING people to give money, or force folkways on people that use thier liberty to conduct thier own lives and prefrences. we shouldnt be forced multiculturalism, its government violence against our people. and every other people in the world.
@Zomboid1000 It's a violation of human rights. Article 7
"All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination."
@Zomboid1000 "Exclusive" night clubs are sued constantly for discrimination, but since their restrictions are so vague they get away with it, but that's really straying from the issue. The simple fact is that allowing someone open up a whites only grocery store that discriminates against minorities is a violation of human rights. Period.
@Zomboid1000 I understand your idea that people have the right to refuse service, but don't go saying that it provides "Individual liberty for everyone no matter their race, sex or sexual orientation," when clearly people will abuse that right to discriminate based on race, sex, etc. I would love to live in a society where the free-market and boycotts would keep racists out of business, but as history proves this is not that society. That's why we need things like The Civil Rights Act.
The SPIN ON THIS SUBJECT IS EFFED! The GOVT has no right to tell a private biz what they can do...the good intentions of people, who do not want be in a RACIST establishment, do dictate policy. People are good... the GOVERNMENT is not your moral compass. TRUST YOUR HUMANITY.
If some scumbag wants to say no blacks allowed he should be able to....And I should be able to organize a group to protest and expose the RACIST BASTARD.
@poppanolan If people were really so good than we wouldn't have ever needed something like a civil rights act. But history has proven that there are enough bigoted people out there where this is important. Racism and discrimination is very prevalent in our society even today, and that's something that the free-market can not stop.
@powertothepeaceful2 You make a valid point... But look deeper. I am not saying you are wrong, but hate is a learned behavior. And most people learn from the television. The TV is always teaching us to hate the Dems Hate the Repubs...hate the Muslims...the terrorists. The TV is controlled by the bankers who control the currency and control the people. Thank goodness we have the Internet and the ability to talk to one another. People want to be peaceful and loving. Our monetary system is fascism.
@poppanolan And you don't think segregated, tribalistic behavior doesn't occur on the internet? Yes, the internet gives many the opportunity to vent, and to air his views, however, it can also be a venue for divisions!
@whiff1962 People follow an ideology learned from their parent and peers. And fight dying to be right. When right and wrong have very little to do with it. Free or controlled...that is what this is about...you and I want the same thing... we all do... we to be free, prosperous & healthy To see our brothers the same way. Please watch a very important lecture on Youtube. We have one party system with two wings, THE RIGHT & LEFT... Both designed to control & enslave us. SEARCH- Renaissance 2.0
"If we want a free country we need to allow private groups to discriminate against people". WELL DUH... that is just common sense. The only people against this idea are the braindead statists such as this Tim Fernholz fellow.
A man who will stand up for others when no one else will! the date is set nov 2nd @ lulu.com The planetary patriot is coming! he will not only say free palestine he will free palestine!
@brad238899 Unless a private business owner doesn't want you to have those rights, than it is the owner's right to discriminate against whomever he or she wants? Hmm, this libertarian ideology seems rather circular now.
Wow having to stoop to calling him a racist. Saing someone hansnt been discriminated against is a absurd assumption. It appears this guy is the racist. i do like how the topics raised were never addressed just by passed. Typical of a person arguing with the truth or simple logic. If you cant beat them distort them lol
We don't need to protect people from being discriminated against by businesses because discrimination is the kiss of death for that business. if there is a business that discriminates against certain people, and i know about it, i will not spend my money at that business. and i think many Americans are like that. i think in this country many of us have a sense of civic duty to our fellow citizens to not allow businesses that discriminate to survive, fiscally, by simply not spending money there.
@rockcreek811 definitely! if you want to be a stupid racist and not let certain people into your business because of dumb bigotry, go right ahead! you are well within your rights to do so. but you will not see one thin dime of my money. simple as that, no government intervention necessary.
Rand Paulis not a fucking racist, the media is trying to make him look like a racist because they all work for obama and the bankers that control the fucking country.
Companies hire out of certain ethnic groups so as they seem to not be discriminatory and cannot be sued.
Uncle Sam telling the kids who have nothing in common to play together and like it.
Kinda stupid, if a company did discriminate against you because of race you should have evidence. If you don't then fuck off, if they where racists then you probably don't want to be there, I get shat on by my employers some of the people I work with are assholes just going to send some BM their way. ruin em
Rand Paul was right, Freedom trumps your sensibilities about discrimination. And he hasn't back pedaled at all you moron. This Tim Fernholz is really stupid. He conflates concepts and confuses things without shame. Amazing.
The picture of reality that you have is completely inside your own head. We don't plug in into a collective single reality. It exist as a manifestation of your intellect that is disconnected from everyone else's. Nothing overlaps into the other. It is contained within your own existence
It's a catch-22. If the government doesn't enforce anti-discriminatory laws then everyone isn't being treated equal, thus, it's not technically a free society but if the government dictates to the private sector how they have to behave towards other ethnic groups, then this isn't technically a free society either. Kind of a paradox.
@giggins not true, the government can enforce anti-discrimination laws on a FEDERAL level. no one is arguing that. but regulating "racism" with laws, doesn't eliminate racism. it just whitewashes over it. it's like the argument of censorship vs. discussion. we should counter racist attitudes with discussion and facts not simply saying, "you're not allowed to be that way" it just makes those racist idiots more incensed and indignant.

He doesn't come from a background where he has been discriminated and uses that to dismiss his reservations about the CRA of 1964 and the ADA. He resorts to clear circumstantial ad hominem. Nevermind that Rand Paul has reservations about using force to commit an unjust act of violating one's property rights to bring justice to another issue.
Time will tell if he is ready for prime time though.
Being opposed to affirmative action does not make anyone a racist. Being opposed to part of one of the 10 major components of the Civil Rights Act, basing your opposition on ideals of equality for all and forced redistribution for none, just makes you a principled person.
Rand Paul is not a racist but just like most conservatives and many libertarians he holds many views that are widely unpopular amoungst African Americans. Hence the reason why democratic presidents have receive between 88-95% of the black vote for nearly 50yrs.
GO RAND GO CONSERVATIVE GO STRONG STAY STRONG U.S.A MADE stop selling your country down the road by moving business over seas to save on your bottom line (put me out of work) stop buy japan cars, stop buying made in china, (look and see where it's made before you buy > pay a little more for usa made SUPPORT YOURSELF
If your going to be a politician, first join the military or lawyer, become a mayor, govenor, state sentate, & then become a U.S. sentate! Being a doc first is jack shi-t.
John King on CNN asked 'hypothetical' questions to Rand Paul like 'would you have voted for the Civil Rights act" Rand Paul said 'yes' to this theoretical (imagined scenario) question.
Next segment: John King praise Chris Byrd for being one of the 'all time great' speakers and a Congressional 'lion'.........even though this guy 'filibustered' the Civil Rights Act!
this guy is a fucking idiot i cant take these stupid fucking people anymore look asshole do you own your own property or not this fucking guy dosnt even understand what rand is saying
rand paul is a disgraced to MD's. These tea party-afrikaner-weerstandsbeweging-anglo saxon racists are finally crawling out from their putrified cave of pure hate & hypocrisy, revealing the soul of america; an abominable soul nurtured upon pillars of slavery, lynching, genocide of Native-americans, napalm bombs baptism of Vietnamese children & etc. The "times of the gentiles have been fulfilled" inviting swift judgement from THE MOST HIGH YHWH against demonic america . Peace & Shalom,
my best friend is Asian, and it would absolutely piss me off if a business told me that minorities could not eat at a specific restaurant, and you better believe I would boycott them and not allow them to have my business. 2010, I don't think businesses would deny minorities anyways. BUT I don't think it's racist to say the federal government doesn't have the right to make that call. Rand+Ron are statesmen, constitutionalists. Individual states make their own law about civil liberties.
@jkfromcincty He said he abhors racism & advocates for private property rights & you interpret this as he is a racist?? Did you not listen to the interview?? He in no way advocated racism only personal property rights. No shirts no shoes no service, ever see the sign? Is it discrimination or a neccessary biz policy! Free markets dictate how biz should be run better then gov. mandates!
It is hypocritical for a private business owner to want to pay less taxes to the government and use tax credits to help it run, but doesn't want to follow federal mandates that say it can't discriminate. If that is the case the business should be left to its own devices.
He has repeatedly said he’s against racism, and would not support anyone that did, by even talking about this you are giving credit to the smear campaign that has been waged against him by the corrupt people in the government who are shitting themselves that this guy may get into congress, I think he is ready for the media, it’s just that he dos not spew lies like the rest of them, that’s refreshing?
@utesonline These people know he isn't there spreading these lies only to further their own political parties growth. Lies & deceit are the tools of contemporary liberals.
the truth of the matter is this...if a company went out and did that they would quickly be buried by another similar company in or around the same area...they would be obliterated! Would you then say that the government has to bail that company out because some crony big business destroyed their competition based on moral standards? I REALLY think most liberals are truly terrified of people being able to make up their own minds about things. Conservatives...you aren't much better!
Why doesn't someone ask Rand Paul if a white business owner exclusively wanted to sell to blacks, latinos , and asians would he support the government intervention? His position would remain the same. Don't believe the hype!
Rand Paul stated that he would not vote to repeal the civil rights act BUT he also stated that gov't should not be allowed to tell private businesses who they can and CANNOT serve.
He stated that a restaurant , for example,is a private business and they should be allowed to refuse to serve anyone for any reason.
@MrYoubrian Free markets dictate whether a business will be successful, government mandates are unneccessary. Do you really think a biz that posted a sign saying No Blacks would be successful? Ever see the sign No shoes
No Shirt No service is that discrimination or a neccessary biz policy? To call Rand a racist from his statement is simply politcal spin. --he is not a racist...
Racism is the belief that race is a primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority or inferiority of a particular race.
In institutional racism, certain racial groups may be denied rights or given special privileges or benefits, or receive preferential treatment. (forced association)
Liberals & Progressive Social-Fascists are RACISTS who use RACISM as a WEAPON to forward Statism and RACIST charges to quash debate!
By now I think it is apparent – Rand Paul’s remarks in the Louisville Courier Examiner interview – were a - _’wink and a nod’ - moment – intentionally duplicitous. Misrepresenting discrimination as - freedom, liberty, free–market …
Theoretically sounds good – but effectively-in reality it would allow more discrimination in race, color, religion, sex, and national origin
… the libertarians’ illogic !
Absolutist theory and the Hell - with who it affects !
Ignoring the REALISTIC historic needs; with specious theory !
Benefits out way –‘the costs’- ... greater civility in culture, safer food, medicine, automobile safety, etc.; Because the _’alleged free-market’_ did not protect people, and still kill, discriminate and harm people!
Just midterm nonsense … but shows the Pauls are more _’corporate defenders_’ than grassroots !
Rand defending BP – as an accident – supporting _’continued corporate immunity”- !
Rand Paul abhors racism, this guy is misinterpreting Rands views on private property RIGHTS. This is nothing more then liberal propaganda to discredit Rand.
@joe035 Great post Joe. If Rand was BLACK, people would just not agree with him...but he's white and a republican! Forget the "I abhor racism in every sense" statement (that means he detests and strongly dislikes racism, folks) that he repeated over and over.
@WildlyOptimistic1 There is a lady in Missisissipi who is black & endorsed by Tea Party folks there, I wonder how they will discredit her? The illusion of truth rather then the reality of it is an important tool for the liberal propaganda machine & the sheep that advocate it on youtube.
@joe035 Just because she is a black candidate who is endorsed by the Tea Party doesn't mean that people are automatically going to believe that the Tea Party is inclusive to all groups. White mainstream thought and supremacy cand inhabit black skin as well.
@CoolScoobydoo People are people regardless of their skin color! The only reason more black people are not involved in the tea party is because they are criticizing THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT, not because they don't agree with the over spending! The more people become aware of the problem our government has created the more diverse it will become.
racists should be able to ban blacks in their buisnesses and i should be able to ban racists in mine---its called freedom, dont like it? move to north korea douchebags
this woman is a FUCKIN LIAR....how can she claim to not be defending him after she spent 5 minutes trying her best to do just that....devil's advocate my ass....she even tries to use bullshit polls to say that he is gunna win...even though the election isn't until NOVEMBER....she was OBVIOUSLY supporting and defending rand paul's views and positions
when it comes down to republican vs democratic ideology i think that the democratic one is more beneficial for building a better society where people are happier and everyone has an even opportunity to achieve what they want to achieve ( the American Dream) where the republican ideology obviously favors big business at the expense of the little guy.. i totally understand that traditional republican ideology is different than what it is today but still
@selfrealizedexile :) well i appreciate your opinion and you might be right but i believe based on what i know and what i learned that i am right ... i might learn something else along the way to convince me other wise but till now that is my opinion
@zayadnay actually, the Republican party has strayed so far from their original platform they are hard to distinguish from Democrats. One spends and the other taxes and spends. As far a favoring big business, both parties are bought and paid for by them. Can you say "bail out"? I knew you could.Everyone in America has the opportunity to succeed if they choose to and get off their lazy a##es. Why rely on the Government to level the field..I think Marx advocated that idea.
@sprtpilot i agree with you on most of what you said.. i was merely making the philosophical point that if we were to have the democratic party's ideology as it was intended to be or as the politicians say they want it to be, key word SAY, then it would be better than the traditional republican party ideology which is as you and i said previously is not same as the way the republican party acts now
@zayadnay Eh... I can see how folks would think that. But the reality is that if we are talking about equal OPPORTUNITY, democrats have traditionally been against that and in favor of equal OUTCOME. It's a pretty big difference.
@zayadnay It's funny you mention big business. Have you looked at your local democratic nominee's campaign contributions lately? What specifically has a republican done for big business, that a democrat hasn't?
Dems and Reps seem to be in battle over one thing or another, they're really on the same side, that side is less individualistic, and more federal gov.
A liberal (now a days Libertarian) sees the regulations the fed places on business a hindrance. Be it big business, or small business.
@asleeperj you are mistaken my comments about democratic and republican IDEOLOGY with the actual republican and democratic party operating now a days. i know that both parties have been highjacked by special interest, i call this special interest big business or huge corporations because only huge organizations as such can give the amount of money sufficient enough to make deals with law makers at the federal level which policies affect every citizen of this great country of ours.
@zayadnay You may argue that corporations are to blame. My case and point, the government allows Corporations to exist. The corporation is just a government allowed entity, that gives an individual, or group of individuals the ability to invest with a limited amount of liability, in a particular fashion.
Take this anti free market mechanism away, and low and behold you have a free market system that regulates is self much more efficiently. All problems eventually come back to the government
@asleeperj i have nothing against big business if they play fair. the problem is that when you get this big you will look for better and more efficient ways to make money with less risk. and the best way to do so is to drive competition down, and how do you do that? well obviously by trying to make government give you subsidies or make laws favoring you over the competition one way or another... i believe that government has its role which is to allow for a true free market to prosper.
Yeah this is not racist just like the Civil War wasnt about slavery, it was about the south asserting its rights to own another human being, in the same why small business should be able to assert their right to be racist, an why stop their the housing discrimination act should be repelled also, you should not be forced to live with blacks and mexicans , and while where at lets ban interracial dating and return the South to its roots, Vote RAND PAUL, so really ask your selfs what would Jesus do?
all out lies to assassinate the character of a man that they fear because Dr. Rand Paul like his father Dr. Ron Paul has a better stand they who are corrupt to the core and deceived the public to keep themselve in power as they subvert the us into a 3rd world nation, parasites.
that is not being a racist, that is to let private business do their business their way.
Most people are not into hating another race and businesses that discriminate folks will lose in competition to others that doesn't discriminate. simple, liberals and neo-cons hates us constitutional freedom and loves fascist socialism= big gov.
Tim Fernholz is an annoying liberal Jew, no surprises that he want a totalitarian state since Jewry in general are against free speech and freedom of association (in particular for people of European descent).
If Fernholz wasn't a Jewish hypocrite he would be more concerned about arresting the crooks on Wall Street than showing of his "gutenmensch" syndrome, but since there are many of his fellow "chosenites" there I guess that would not be "good for the Jews".
Fuck Ron and Rand Paul! Fuck every brainwashed member of the right-wing Paulist herd. Get a life you petty Paulist pricks. Even Ralph Nader was more sensible than these douches.
@wnxsilence Now what unfortunate discussions have you been having that compelled you to lash out in this manner? Care to actually state what you disagree with and what you think is some of the ideas these people have been brainwashed with?
Tim you are a moron!!!! From an economic standpoint it is very consistant to let the private business owner decide who he or she wants to sell to. What do you think a supermarket is compared to to a farmer's market. Isn't an organic/health nut store discriminatory against those who wish to buy non orgnaic products? Maybe there should be a lawsuit against these people.
Ow, this guy is a dumb ass. He doesn't actually make arguments, he basically throws our assumptions about consensus, and claims that, "must people think this way, therefore they are right." Then he smirks and giggles. What a joke.
so this Tim Fernholz has an elevator in his home in case a disabled person comes to visit, a brail telephone in case a blind person needs to borrow his phone. It would be nice if we all had an extra couple hundred grand to build our homes and businesses for everyone. Make our doors 6 ' wide for the bubble boy. He is STILL against it TODAY!
thenewmike2012 2 months ago
@thenewmike2012 I understand why you bring this up and I am not completely endorsing his idea on the bill however he explained it through a Constitutional viewpoint. The whole reason he voted against it was because property rights.
xx8visionSxx 1 week ago
@xx8visionSxx The Constitution DEFENDS the Civil Rights Act. What Dr. Paul is missing or rejects is one of the MANY things it did was put an end to those "Whites Only" storefront signs that were EVERYWHERE back then. Lets say you open a mom and pop grocery store and put up that sign...well you own the store yes, but the electricity, water, gas, trash removal services, etc. Come from the city/state that ALL local/state taxpayers (including Blacks) pay for. Thats the problem with Pauls' argument.
thenewmike2012 1 week ago
@thenewmike2012 Yes I know and I understand but I was only defending Ron Paul's record because people try to say he is a racist when he truly is not. His heroes were MLK and Rosa Parks because they practiced libertarian principles and civil disobedience.

@xx8visionSxx Thats perfectly fine. Im just pointing out some reasons why Dr. Paul is not a realistic candidate for President this year or in the previous 2 times hes run. Understand this, my friend...In America, we ALL have the right to believe as we choose. However, when one of us decides to run for President, those beliefs come under great scrutiny. their customers.

It follows to reason that they lose all of their customers who are not racist, all of their customers who are minorities, and generally all decent people who might otherwise be
Khayman8888 2 months ago
I mean, the man in the video says the same thing, so whether you agree or disagree with the principles of Rand Paul, -no- one can reasonably decided, based on his statements, that he is a racist.
Now, to address the main point, should a private business be allowed to discriminate against other races? Absolutely. In a free country, a private business should be able to refuse business to whoever it wants, for whatever reason. I agree that such a practice would be wrong, but how do we prevent this
Khayman8888 2 months ago
Should be legal for a business run by blacks to refuse service to whites, so it is a two way street. If Rand Paul truly FELT that his comments were inspired by racism, then he wouldn't utter them. He'd keep them to himself. He is willing to make those statements because he KNOWS they are not racist.
Khayman8888 2 months ago
The thing is, a lot of politicians are racist but you don't know it because they don't say racist things. If you ask me, this goes more to show that Rand Paul isn't racist. He's willing to go out and say that he doesn't support ASPECTS of the Civil Rights Movement because of the intrusion into individual rights that it constitutes. He makes a statement that may sound racist but, in fact, has nothing to do with race. It's purely based on liberty. By the same token, Rand Paul would argue that it
Khayman8888 2 months ago

In other words, the platform of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt's Republicans was actually more like that of the Democrats today.

whiff1962 1 year ago
Much in the way of liberal-progressive legislation has done more to continue negative discrimination and a posture of dependence on a paternalistic state. Take a look at affirmative action, among other pieces of "progressive" legislation, that has done more to abridge private business rights than that of redressing social wrongs. I am well aware that the well-meaning aims of liberal legislation winds up confounding any meaningful discussion of the Constitution as the Supreme law. Esoteric? NO!
whiff1962 1 year ago

Freedom means freedom from coercion, not everyone being treated the same.
purplepamphleteer 1 year ago
@purplepamphleteer But for many Liberals, the state, in its beneficient wisdom, can redress wrongs. And as your valid argument shows, such redressing means force not voluntary consensus.

powertothepeaceful2 1 year ago
@Zomboid1000 "Exclusive" night clubs are sued constantly for discrimination, but since their restrictions are so vague they get away with it, but that's really straying from the issue. The simple fact is that allowing someone open up a whites only grocery store that discriminates against minorities is a violation of human rights. Period.
powertothepeaceful2 1 year ago
@Zomboid1000 I understand your idea that people have the right to refuse service, but don't go saying that it provides "Individual liberty for everyone no matter their race, sex or sexual orientation," when clearly people will abuse that right to discriminate based on race, sex, etc. I would love to live in a society where the free-market and boycotts would keep racists out of business, but as history proves this is not that society. That's why we need things like The Civil Rights Act.

This is nothing more then liberal propaganda to discredit Rand.
joe035 1 year ago
@joe035 Great post Joe. If Rand was BLACK, people would just not agree with him...but he's white and a republican! Forget the "I abhor racism in every sense" statement (that means he detests and strongly dislikes racism, folks) that he repeated over and over.
WildlyOptimistic1 1 year ago
@WildlyOptimistic1 There is a lady in Missisissipi who is black & endorsed by Tea Party folks there, I wonder how they will discredit her? The illusion of truth rather then the reality of it is an important tool for the liberal propaganda machine & the sheep that advocate it on youtube.
joe035 1 year ago
@joe035 Just because she is a black candidate who is endorsed by the Tea Party doesn't mean that people are automatically going to believe that the Tea Party is inclusive to all groups. White mainstream thought and supremacy cand inhabit black skin as well.
CoolScoobydoo 1 year ago
@CoolScoobydoo People are people regardless of their skin color! The only reason more black people are not involved in the tea party is because they are criticizing THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT, not because they don't agree with the over spending! The more people become aware of the problem our government has created the more diverse it will become.

when it comes down to republican vs democratic ideology i think that the democratic one is more beneficial for building a better society where people are happier and everyone has an even opportunity to achieve what they want to achieve ( the American Dream) where the republican ideology obviously favors big business at the expense of the little guy.. i totally understand that traditional republican ideology is different than what it is today but still

@selfrealizedexile :) well i appreciate your opinion and you might be right but i believe based on what i know and what i learned that i am right ... i might learn something else along the way to convince me other wise but till now that is my opinion
zayadnay 1 year ago
@zayadnay actually, the Republican party has strayed so far from their original platform they are hard to distinguish from Democrats. One spends and the other taxes and spends. As far a favoring big business, both parties are bought and paid for by them. Can you say "bail out"? I knew you could.Everyone in America has the opportunity to succeed if they choose to and get off their lazy a##es. Why rely on the Government to level the field..I think Marx advocated that idea.
sprtpilot 1 year ago
@sprtpilot i agree with you on most of what you said.. i was merely making the philosophical point that if we were to have the democratic party's ideology as it was intended to be or as the politicians say they want it to be, key word SAY, then it would be better than the traditional republican party ideology which is as you and i said previously is not same as the way the republican party acts now
zayadnay 1 year ago
@zayadnay Eh... I can see how folks would think that. But the reality is that if we are talking about equal OPPORTUNITY, democrats have traditionally been against that and in favor of equal OUTCOME. It's a pretty big difference.
paolung 1 year ago
@zayadnay It's funny you mention big business. Have you looked at your local democratic nominee's campaign contributions lately? What specifically has a republican done for big business, that a democrat hasn't?
Dems and Reps seem to be in battle over one thing or another, they're really on the same side, that side is less individualistic, and more federal gov.
A liberal (now a days Libertarian) sees the regulations the fed places on business a hindrance. Be it big business, or small business.
asleeperj 1 year ago
@asleeperj you are mistaken my comments about democratic and republican IDEOLOGY with the actual republican and democratic party operating now a days. i know that both parties have been highjacked by special interest, i call this special interest big business or huge corporations because only huge organizations as such can give the amount of money sufficient enough to make deals with law makers at the federal level which policies affect every citizen of this great country of ours.
zayadnay 1 year ago
@zayadnay You may argue that corporations are to blame. My case and point, the government allows Corporations to exist. The corporation is just a government allowed entity, that gives an individual, or group of individuals the ability to invest with a limited amount of liability, in a particular fashion.
Take this anti free market mechanism away, and low and behold you have a free market system that regulates is self much more efficiently. All problems eventually come back to the government
asleeperj 1 year ago

Standingwithfeast 1 year ago
that is not being a racist, that is to let private business do their business their way.
Most people are not into hating another race and businesses that discriminate folks will lose in competition to others that doesn't discriminate. simple, liberals and neo-cons hates us constitutional freedom and loves fascist socialism= big gov.
Standingwithfeast 1 year ago
Solid points. Great job referring to this guy's views as an ideology as opposed to a philosophy.
