haha i do the same thing with my iPhone, i keep it next to my pillow.  who knows what abuse it gets at night (though i barely sleep) i use the same alarm (for my weekend ones, default for college mornings) i have to use a usb extension to get my iPhone to be useable when its charging otherwise it keeps pulling at the cable =P.
