I read Matthew Henry's bible commentary on 1 Corinthians 15:35-50 from christnotes(dot)org. A part of the commentary states "The bodies of the saints, when they rise again, will be changed. They will be then glorious and SPIRITUAL BODIES, fitted to the heavenly world and state, where they are ever afterwards to dwell." Coffman's commentary from searchgodsword(dot)org clearly states that it's a spiritual body in verse 44. Biblical commentators supports your argument. Salam

Those verses are referring to the Quran as Gods word that cannot be corrupted. It does not mean that the bible at that time was not corrupted, because the Quran already it was corrupted in Quran 2:75, Quran 2:79, Quran 3:77.

I am curious, Mr Islam, of your defense of the Al-Isra. Using your logic, the event isnt viable since there was no one recording the event at the time. Likewise, using your logic that Josephus was getting his story from Christians (which you do not know as fact and can not prove is true), then how could the night journey have occured since there was only one muslim reporting it, Muhammad himself. When he relayed the story (as the only witness)tell us how the Quraysh reseponded?
We'll Muhammad never benn to Jerusalem and he was asked about it's features in detail and he answered with remarable detail . His proof was his knowledge of Jerusalem Sir
Muhammad detailed the mosque but this was all accoring to HIS own writing. According to MrIslam, you need eyewitness to verify that it actually occured. There is no one else other than Muhammed who supposedly witnessed the Al-Isra. In fact, many Quraysh left the prophets teaching when he told of the night journey. I would also ask, was this a jounrey of the body or the soul?
Well, even the Muslims at that time did not believe Muhammad regarding Al-Isra, which was why Muhammad honored his friend Abu Bakr so much and gave him the title As-Siddiq, the one who acknowledges the truth, because Abu Bakr believed it without any proof. Until of course, Muhammad said so-and-so caravan would reach Mecca at so-and-so time, because he saw those caravans while he was flying past them on the way to and back from Jerusalem.
The topic is not the night journey, so what are you bringing it up for??? Trying to introduce an irrelevant subject that has nothing to do with the topic of this debate , just shows you cant defend the point. So you have to try and switch it around and make an issue of the night journey, which is not the question of this debate.
No sir, I am just using your illogical premise that because of no eyewitness reports, Jesus' ressurection couldnt be real. This isnt a red herring. I illustrate the night journey as an example of your failed logic. What ancient writing was EVER written in the form of an eyewitness account?
Again, using your logic, since no one ever wrote about Muhammed being the messenger of Allah, EXCEPT Muhammed and muslims then its impossible for him to be anthing but an ordinary war monger, who came to power by battle after battle.
Again the topic is not muhammad, so your just using this as an opportunity to attack him, while not addressing the issue of the debate in the video, therefore, your an ordinary hate monger, and bigot.
LOL, look at the double standards. This guy uses the argument that there is not one document document that says that Yeshua rose from the dead, so therefore, we should reject that claim. But NOTICE THE DOUBLE STANDARDS: There are historical documents that say that Yeshua DIED ON THE CROSS, yet Shadeed dismisses those. Lets use your rhetoric: There is no historical data that Muhammad ever existed outside of the Muslim documents. So, using your logic, therefore....
That debate was not about muhammad, and my opponent was the one who was resting his every argument on so called historical proof which there is no such historical proof. So look at your silly standards. LOL
You are usisng a 21st century writing technique and placing into history two thousand years ago. Of course, unlike the writings of Muhammad, whose source was from one man, there are many extrabiblical references to Jesus, for example Josephus.
I refuted the josephus claim in this debate. Josephus writing about jesus have been shown to be fabricated, and historians clearly admit Josephus wrote from HEARSAY, he was not an eye witness, so sorry, that does'nt hold up.
Well your Josephus argument, just like all others, were historically incorrect! ( what do muslims have against history?) scholars despute that Josephus wrote that Yeshua was the Messiah and that he rose from the dead. But NOT the statement that he was put to death under pontius Pilate. So go do your himework. You rely on one lone scholar and just disregard the consensus amongst the major scholars. I mean compare Bagent against Ehrman, Crossan, Ludeman, Lapide, Habermas, etc. Need i say more?
We have nothing against history. And your wrong , they say evidence is there that Josephus never mentioned it at all. And erhaman himself has debated against Jesus death and resurrection , so why you included him as one in favor of it,is strange. So do your homework and let go of your christian theology and myths.
Ehrman NEVER debated against the cruficixion. He debated against the resurrection. The reason why I quoted Ehrman is because muslims like to quote him against us. But the fact is that there is no reputable historian that denies the crucifixion of Yeshua, as David had already pointed out in the debate. Yet you just dont want to listen. Because Islam tells you not to, that's why. All these people that I put in the post are superior scholars to lil ol' Bagent.
What reputable historians?? Name me one NON christian reputable historian that says jesus was crucified and rose from the dead. Plus you ignore jesus own words about the sign of Jonah. Its you who doesnt want tolisten because Christian manmade doctrine told you not to. Your instructed to just believe , regardless of what evidence is there.
Mr Debate the Hate, i heard your debate and like Paltalk and Youtube viewers your looked upon as a Fraud and Lacking in your debate skills by your Muslim Brothers and Sisters and Christian Scholars.
Cockeytown your an ignorant bigot. Your a nobody. You haters are the ones with no debate skills whether on youtube or paltalk. As you see from the comment, my muslim brothers and sisters support me . So give it up .
Lewis, the one thats a NO-BODY is the only who trys to twist Gods True Spoken word like yourself. Look at yourself in the Mirror Lewis. You seriously look like the NO-BODY right about now. David Wood made you look like a desperate little silly punk!
Oh please , now your a righteous christian who knows Gods true word?!! When did that happen? Most of the time your on pal talk spewing your low life bigotry, and you got the nerve to talk about twisting Gods true word. If your an example of what is supposed to be Gods true word, then it is truly sorry. But the fact is your not, your just a bitter anglo amerikkkan bigot! Take a hike loser!
Christians should concede the fact that there is NOTHING miraculous about the time factor in the sign of Jonah. The miracle or sign is that Jonah was ALIVE. THAT is the miracle. So, when Jesus says he will be like Jonah, he is surely referring to Jonah's state in the whale's belly.
since the Quran says that Jesus' death was "made to appear so", the very fact that historians think he died is proof that the Quran may be right (such a statement does not contradict history, though does not provide ultimate proof to non believers), if God made it to appear so how would anyone know the truth at the time? as in islam we believe that it was a miracle that Jesus was taken up body and soul, such miracles cannot fully be explained through historical evidence.
Do you really think this was well done? It was a complete distortion and misrepresentation of what the Bible says about "the sign of Jonah". That doesn't bother you? Don't you really mean he supported your cause? The argumentation was terrible. He kept saying "as Jonah was...". Well, as Jonah was what? " Three days and three nights in the belly of the fish...". It seems that you guys intentionally misrepresent others and then congratulate ourselves. This is really pathetic. Pitiful.
Gladly, Jesus said "as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the fish so shall the Son of Man be three nights in the heart of the earth." I think anyone who reads this can clearly see this. The exception would be someone who is either dishonest or unintelligent. I don't think Mr. Lewis is that unintelligent. However, you just can't help but question his honesty. Why don't you describe in your own words the meaning of the above quotation. Isn't it really clear? Yes it is.
I understand why that seems strange. It has to do with the way the Jews count a day. However, my problem is with Mr. Lewis's continued repetition of very bad distortions of the text. Your question is valid. His assertion is invalid and dishonest. When he says, "as Jesus was..." repeatedly and then tries to make the illogical connection to Jonah being alive after the fish, well that is just really inexcusable. There are a lot of good Muslim apologist, but this is not one of them. True.
I do believe that his argument is valid. The word "as" in this context could mean time spent, or state the individual is in. So, I don't think he was off course.
I will try again. Jesus said... what? What is the clear meaning? If you can read and have a grammar school education you can understand this. I'm not being critical of you or anyone else. "As Jonah was three days..." and so forth. Not just "as Jonah was". Otherwise "as Jonah was "thrown overboard in the ocean so will Jesus be thrown in the ocean"? Is that what the broad teaching is? I can understand you. Can you understand me? It's really not difficult. Unless you have an agenda.
"for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."(Mat 12:40)
This is what I read, and the two possibilities can be applied... time reference and state. Especially as we know that Jonah was alive. Imagine hearing this as a contemporary of Jesus and knowing that Jonah did not die. What will you think?
Okay, I accept that you're honest. You have posted the text. Now, I will start the verse and you tell me the next word, "as Jonah was..." three days, correct? Three days. Why is that hard to understand? The number three is what is being emphasized. Not, "as Jonah was thinking about a hamburger so I will be thinking about a hamburger...". If you really can't see it then maybe it's a problem of comprehension. I am not being disrespectful. We all have our strengths and weaknesses.
I think I have presented my argument well enough. Whether "three" is the emphasis or understanding of the statement in context is what it is, I as a Muslim still have two reasons to doubt. The time reference and state do not match the reality of what the Bible says.
I don't see how this can be misunderstood but I can accept the fact that you don't understand. The time reference matches exactly. The state was never intended to match. If you want to force that you are misusing the rules of grammar (which I believe you're not doing intentionally). If I misunderstand what your scripture says and I force a false conclusion upon you will you disregard the clear meaning of your text? You would know better. Same here. I know better. Have a good night.
The amount of days was not the sign as I showed Matthew 16:4 and Luke 11:29 does not mention any amount of days. If the days was important ,than it should have been stressed in these other places as well but it was'nt. Thus the amount of days was not the sign. Even further Mark 8:11,12 says NO SIGN SHALL BE GIVEN. Thus you have an even bigger problem.
That is a very weak reply. If you're saying because the "three days..." was not mentioned in the other accounts you have to extend that logic to your argument, which would be obliterated. Very inconsistent thinking here. You have an agenda and you are going to try to interpret anything anywhere to support your claims. You're missing the clear meaning of the text (or intentionally misusing it). Unbiased readers can see through this type of poor attempted scholarship.
Again, there is nothing miraculous about a time factor. Jonah was ALIVE three days and three nights and Jesus was ALIVE "three days and three nights".
"After his suffering (passion), he showed himself to these men MANY convincing PROOFS that he was ALIVE." -Acts 1:3
Keywords: "proofs" (not possibilities) and "alive" (NOT ressurected).
"38Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, "Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you."39He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." What was the sign of Jonah? Three days. I hope you will be honest about this
Does anyone really believe this diatribe? This would not convince a second-grade child. I challenge someone to post the entire Bible quotation for "the sign of Jonah". I'm sure someone will accept the challenge since all of you are very honest people. I will wait for the entire text to be posted. Then you tell in your own words what is being said. This should be really interesting. Remember, the entire text. Not a snippet or partial quotation. Let's see who is truthful here. Anyone?

The Apostle John, Mary his mother, his mothers sister, and Mary Magdalene (John 19:25-27)
And Mary didnt anoint Jesus body after he died, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus anointed his body and wrapped it in cloth.

MrIslamAnswersback 3 years ago
No sir, I am just using your illogical premise that because of no eyewitness reports, Jesus' ressurection couldnt be real. This isnt a red herring. I illustrate the night journey as an example of your failed logic. What ancient writing was EVER written in the form of an eyewitness account?
ufbret 3 years ago
And NO historical document outside of what christians wrote, says jesus rose from the dead. NOT ONE.
MrIslamAnswersback 3 years ago
Again, using your logic, since no one ever wrote about Muhammed being the messenger of Allah, EXCEPT Muhammed and muslims then its impossible for him to be anthing but an ordinary war monger, who came to power by battle after battle.
ufbret 3 years ago
Again the topic is not muhammad, so your just using this as an opportunity to attack him, while not addressing the issue of the debate in the video, therefore, your an ordinary hate monger, and bigot.
MrIslamAnswersback 3 years ago
LOL, look at the double standards. This guy uses the argument that there is not one document document that says that Yeshua rose from the dead, so therefore, we should reject that claim. But NOTICE THE DOUBLE STANDARDS: There are historical documents that say that Yeshua DIED ON THE CROSS, yet Shadeed dismisses those. Lets use your rhetoric: There is no historical data that Muhammad ever existed outside of the Muslim documents. So, using your logic, therefore....
Nakdimon316 3 years ago
That debate was not about muhammad, and my opponent was the one who was resting his every argument on so called historical proof which there is no such historical proof. So look at your silly standards. LOL
MrIslamAnswersback 3 years ago
You are usisng a 21st century writing technique and placing into history two thousand years ago. Of course, unlike the writings of Muhammad, whose source was from one man, there are many extrabiblical references to Jesus, for example Josephus.
ufbret 3 years ago
I refuted the josephus claim in this debate. Josephus writing about jesus have been shown to be fabricated, and historians clearly admit Josephus wrote from HEARSAY, he was not an eye witness, so sorry, that does'nt hold up.
MrIslamAnswersback 3 years ago
Well your Josephus argument, just like all others, were historically incorrect! ( what do muslims have against history?) scholars despute that Josephus wrote that Yeshua was the Messiah and that he rose from the dead. But NOT the statement that he was put to death under pontius Pilate. So go do your himework. You rely on one lone scholar and just disregard the consensus amongst the major scholars. I mean compare Bagent against Ehrman, Crossan, Ludeman, Lapide, Habermas, etc. Need i say more?
Nakdimon316 3 years ago

Nakdimon316 3 years ago
What reputable historians?? Name me one NON christian reputable historian that says jesus was crucified and rose from the dead. Plus you ignore jesus own words about the sign of Jonah. Its you who doesnt want tolisten because Christian manmade doctrine told you not to. Your instructed to just believe , regardless of what evidence is there.

Great! Very well done. You should do this more often.
webdawah 3 years ago
Do you really think this was well done? It was a complete distortion and misrepresentation of what the Bible says about "the sign of Jonah". That doesn't bother you? Don't you really mean he supported your cause? The argumentation was terrible. He kept saying "as Jonah was...". Well, as Jonah was what? " Three days and three nights in the belly of the fish...". It seems that you guys intentionally misrepresent others and then congratulate ourselves. This is really pathetic. Pitiful.
thisisreallypathetic 3 years ago
So, please tell us how the sign of Jonah correlates as the Christian story of Jesus.
webdawah 3 years ago 3
Gladly, Jesus said "as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the fish so shall the Son of Man be three nights in the heart of the earth." I think anyone who reads this can clearly see this. The exception would be someone who is either dishonest or unintelligent. I don't think Mr. Lewis is that unintelligent. However, you just can't help but question his honesty. Why don't you describe in your own words the meaning of the above quotation. Isn't it really clear? Yes it is.
thisisreallypathetic 3 years ago
Can you help with the math? Crucifixion on friday evening, and resurrection on sunday morning. That's not three days and three nights.
webdawah 3 years ago 9
I understand why that seems strange. It has to do with the way the Jews count a day. However, my problem is with Mr. Lewis's continued repetition of very bad distortions of the text. Your question is valid. His assertion is invalid and dishonest. When he says, "as Jesus was..." repeatedly and then tries to make the illogical connection to Jonah being alive after the fish, well that is just really inexcusable. There are a lot of good Muslim apologist, but this is not one of them. True.
thisisreallypathetic 3 years ago
I do believe that his argument is valid. The word "as" in this context could mean time spent, or state the individual is in. So, I don't think he was off course.
webdawah 3 years ago
I will try again. Jesus said... what? What is the clear meaning? If you can read and have a grammar school education you can understand this. I'm not being critical of you or anyone else. "As Jonah was three days..." and so forth. Not just "as Jonah was". Otherwise "as Jonah was "thrown overboard in the ocean so will Jesus be thrown in the ocean"? Is that what the broad teaching is? I can understand you. Can you understand me? It's really not difficult. Unless you have an agenda.
thisisreallypathetic 3 years ago
"for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."(Mat 12:40)
This is what I read, and the two possibilities can be applied... time reference and state. Especially as we know that Jonah was alive. Imagine hearing this as a contemporary of Jesus and knowing that Jonah did not die. What will you think?
webdawah 3 years ago
Okay, I accept that you're honest. You have posted the text. Now, I will start the verse and you tell me the next word, "as Jonah was..." three days, correct? Three days. Why is that hard to understand? The number three is what is being emphasized. Not, "as Jonah was thinking about a hamburger so I will be thinking about a hamburger...". If you really can't see it then maybe it's a problem of comprehension. I am not being disrespectful. We all have our strengths and weaknesses.
thisisreallypathetic 3 years ago
I think I have presented my argument well enough. Whether "three" is the emphasis or understanding of the statement in context is what it is, I as a Muslim still have two reasons to doubt. The time reference and state do not match the reality of what the Bible says.
webdawah 3 years ago
I don't see how this can be misunderstood but I can accept the fact that you don't understand. The time reference matches exactly. The state was never intended to match. If you want to force that you are misusing the rules of grammar (which I believe you're not doing intentionally). If I misunderstand what your scripture says and I force a false conclusion upon you will you disregard the clear meaning of your text? You would know better. Same here. I know better. Have a good night.
thisisreallypathetic 3 years ago
The amount of days was not the sign as I showed Matthew 16:4 and Luke 11:29 does not mention any amount of days. If the days was important ,than it should have been stressed in these other places as well but it was'nt. Thus the amount of days was not the sign. Even further Mark 8:11,12 says NO SIGN SHALL BE GIVEN. Thus you have an even bigger problem.
MrIslamAnswersback 3 years ago
That is a very weak reply. If you're saying because the "three days..." was not mentioned in the other accounts you have to extend that logic to your argument, which would be obliterated. Very inconsistent thinking here. You have an agenda and you are going to try to interpret anything anywhere to support your claims. You're missing the clear meaning of the text (or intentionally misusing it). Unbiased readers can see through this type of poor attempted scholarship.
thisisreallypathetic 3 years ago
Again, there is nothing miraculous about a time factor. Jonah was ALIVE three days and three nights and Jesus was ALIVE "three days and three nights".
"After his suffering (passion), he showed himself to these men MANY convincing PROOFS that he was ALIVE." -Acts 1:3
Keywords: "proofs" (not possibilities) and "alive" (NOT ressurected).
Thank you.

Three days. I hope you will be honest about this
thisisreallypathetic 3 years ago
Does anyone really believe this diatribe? This would not convince a second-grade child. I challenge someone to post the entire Bible quotation for "the sign of Jonah". I'm sure someone will accept the challenge since all of you are very honest people. I will wait for the entire text to be posted. Then you tell in your own words what is being said. This should be really interesting. Remember, the entire text. Not a snippet or partial quotation. Let's see who is truthful here. Anyone?
