Well done, Serge. You really caught the picturesque beauty of Place Royale and its distinct character. I can imagine the pioneers walking on the cobbled stoned streets. Bonne Fête, Québec. Happy 400th Anniversary! We can rejoice. It passed the test of time.
An oooold europeen town. Yes. But in other areas of Quebec, Montreal and the Eastern Townships, you have some very english architecture.
FYI, the city of Montreal was founded by British, French, Irish and Scottish immigrants. There's been an italian and a chinese community here for generations.
So the influences are often europeen, but everybody brought something from home.
Well done. You really caught the scenic beauty and the spirit of Quebec. The city has retained its picturesque appeal. We practically feel the presence of the pioneers. Bonne Fête, Québec. Happy 400th! I'm glad that people are caring.
Hey, did you guys know that Paul McCartney slept at the Chateau Frontenace (seen in the video)last weekend?
This was filmed/photographed on Monday, and the night before (July 20th) he gave an free outdoor show not far from the Chateau Frontenac. Fans stood around the Chateau to get a glimps of him coming in.
The whole city was psyched. 200 000 people showed up for the free show.
I was there only a few minutes, heard some french, some english, some spanish and some other language which was possibly north-europeen but I couldn't tell. LOTS of tourist.
And I've been seeing NY plates, Virginia and Washington plates in my streets. Screw the price of gas, huh? rofl
touchant!

It doesn't. I had trouble posting my response to the Clooney video, and now I can't UN-respond.
Two of my videos are linked to it.

Did you see the show?? That would be Sweet!

Negative. I knew what kind of crowd would be there.
All day, I was in Quebec hoping the folks wouldn't get any rain. Low and behold, the weather held and they had a perfect evening.
A stelar even no matter if I was there or not. I'm so happy for the people of Quebec City, they deserved nothing else.

Joy, thanks for the comment. I'm not sure why I had to approve your comments, you should be on my friend's list... I'll check.
And yes, it has a special place in my heart. My first visit was in 1981, school trip from the Saguenay, three hours drive to get there.
