It is great to hear that the Ben Webster/Flip Phillips/ Zoot Sims thing is being kept alive. Scott caught some $hit early in his career for being "too derivative". Scott sounds like Scott, which is fine with me. If you think you can do better, try to sit in with your suckass Cannonball Tenor and get your ass kicked......
My late brother regarded Vache as the great trumpeter of the 1980s-This is the first time I have heard him and am duly impressed. Hamilton is wonderful but I
prefer him on ballads where he ranks with Webster and Hawkins.
