Ohh Did you know that you can get these robes from a house in Bruma

go to J'Ghasta's House In Bruma its Left of Bruma East Gate you'll pass Olav's tap and trak first

Break into the house and go downstairs

look for the ale Keg and when you hold the cursor over it it should give you the option to pick a Very Hard class lock

Pick the lock and inside there will be the Black Hand Hood and Black Hand Robe

I found this by happy accident while i was looting houses lol

good things about doing this quest you get armor you get cool ring cool boots cool necklace fancy clothes item that boost some stats and makes you unpopular simple way to become a vampire better armor the quest has cool characters and by the end you will have alot of money infinite money!! :D bad things your sword will be almost broken killing so many people :D wait thats good

@CHEESY6789208 sufferthorn- it's good if your a low level, kills guards in 3 hits. Shrouded armor, also good if you're a low level. 10k gold in all, not to bad. Rose of sithis, Shadowhunt (isn't that great, but i like the name.) It's well worth it if you do it. If you want to be a noob and do this, be my guest though.

The robes are amazingly good for a mage, they give you an endurance and blade bonus, gives the mage more health and makes him do more damage with his side weapon. if you were playing a stealth character, then you would be wearing that skin tight armor that you get when you join the guild.

Or you can immediately go to Bruma. Rob J'ghasta's house who is never in the house (well he is in the secret basement) so he won't catch you. Pick the lock on the wine keg in the basement (mostly a Very Hard lock) and you get the same armor

What you do is go to Bruma and go to J'Ghasta's house (or whatever his name is) and go through the trapdoor. Kill him if you have to and look in a cabinet and voila, free black hand robes. :) Hope this helps.
