That's not entirely true Domsta. There are some borrowed words from Dutch, but the Dutch language didn't have a great influence like Spanish and Portuguese. The Aruban dialect Papiamento has more (Venezuelan) Spanish influences then the Curacao dialect Papiamentu.

Yes that's exactly who brought it there....it existed at least hundred years before it was spoken on the ABC islands. Of course it's changed overtime because of other influences, but if you compare the vocab it's almost identical . And there is no way for it to have started in West Africa and 100 or so later to invented again across the atlantic. It's orginis are in Guinea bissau and than spread to Cape Verde and eventually to the ABC islands during the slave trade.
