It is brand new never fired a round I didnt know if that was normal for a new one or not I have owned other rifles that you could chamber a round with one finger. But thank you that relly helps point me into the right derection.
I just bought a new remington 700 7mm mag from wall-mart and its taking alot of force to actuate the bolt when loaded and scrapes the shells abit but empty its ez any help on this would be great
@lilwes2222 The rifle should theoretically function from the factory. It sounds like you need to check the headspace of the rifle, as it seems from what you've told me that it takes a substantial amount of force to close bolt on a chambered round. It could also be that the rifle is still new so you might need to 'break in the rifle' so to speak. Its just to early to tell. But try checking the headspace, if that doesnt work call Remington and explain to them whats wrong. Hope it helps
