i remember that was a real wavy/ wobbly one. others ive been in were more shaky and violent, i felt the same exact way, almost like i was just getting dizzy, like i was on a boat or something. i was in the natural history museum and the dinosaur skelletons were moving like crazy! hahaha
But you have to admit that the median income in Chino is pretty high, certainly higher than almost anywhere in California. And it seems almost fair after Katrina and rioting in poor parts of LA it is about time that the rich got their share of crises. As I said nobody got killed and as Carlin said this is a form of entertainment.
about times those rich fucks up in Chino got their asses kicked. I hope there is plenty of damaged villas and swimming pools.
No one was killed so stop being cry babies everyone. Living in Comton is a bit more down to reality and those people don't make any fuss about it when the earth is shaking there.
shutup. i live in chino hills and i never once complained about the earthquake being big, cuz it wasnt. the only ppl who made a big deal were the news people
A brief conversation between an Angelino and a silhouette. Whittier Narrows 1987: 8.3 coming soon? Big Bear Landers Quake 1992: Was that the big one? No, okay. Back to sleep. Northridge 1994: Was that the big one? No? Seriously? Damn I was going to have the day off too! Hector Mines 1999: So was that it? What do you mean not close enough to LA? So how many people? Five injured? That's it? Chino Hills: What do you mean it's downgraded? 99% within in 30 years? I already did 21!
im 13 miles from the center, and the roof was a SHAKIN here, suspended lights swinging, my coffee cup on my desk even tipped over while i was running to the doorway.
When you said, "it was a ways away", where are you located? I'm in Culver City and it made quite an impression on me here. It was no Northridge by any degree but, I knew it was sizable somewhere other than here.
It was just like being on a damn boat, wading in the water on top of a slight breeze, only it kept going. Someone just described it as a rolling motion that built on itself. Definitely something to grab your attention anywhere from here to San Diego to Las Vegas. What was the northern most point? Does anyone know?
My sister and I were on the computer upstairs and when we felt it we looked at eachother and were like :O !! I grabbed her arm and ran to the nearest door way.
Gosh it was scary. The house was literally swaying.
Do you guys think there will be an aftershock?? Or would it have already happened?
I was playing CoD 4 when it happened haha...

jkay47 3 years ago
Had it been an 8.3 half of socal would be leveled and in the other half engulfed in flames from broken gas pipes.

When I said it was an 8.3, I'm quoting the commercial from the old Universal Studios Earthquake ride. Just calm yourselves.
dandingo13 3 years ago
It was just a 5.8. If it was as large as you said it was, I doubt you would have time to do the things you're doing.
Coolmik 3 years ago
It was only the biggest earthquake California's seen in the past 14 years. No biggie.
