  • I'm starting to get annoyed with the "rare wwii color footage" label. There are tens of thousands of hours of this stuff all over the web, it isn't hard to find, it hardly seems "rare" any more.

  • HEROES... the true kind.

  • loved this video, thanks for sharing

  • grandpa nooo!!! 5:01

  • These videos are absolutely amazing to watch.

  • o.O good quality for its time eh?

  • Germany murders to silence complaints

U.Barschel,J.Möllemann,Heiner Gehring(author),M.Pflock(political activist),Tron(internet activist),Karl Koch(political/internet activist),Bernd Seiffert(human rights activist),Kirsten Heisig(author/judge),Fritz Bauer(persecutor Frankfurt Auschwitz processes). My brother Markus Bott was tortured 5.5 years by the German BND.I have recorded 450 h on video which ended in the legal system. He then was tortured 1.5 years under the "protection" of the "legal system“

  • In the navy....

  • my grandfather didnt fight in the war but he remembers seeing submarines during ww2 when he was fishing

  • 4:32 that is an awesome explosion!!!

  • My Dad and my uncles were all aviators during the war. Only one in the Navy was an uncle. Graduated Annapolis in the 30's. Flew a variety of fighters off carriers in the Pacific. Had 4 carriers sunk under him. After the War he was a test pilot. Flew one of the first instrument planes through the cloud at the atomic test at Bikini. Test pilot on B-36 and B-52. One of the chief designers of the F-111. Survived 2 coronary by passes. Lived into his 90's. He was the finest gentleman I have ever known

  • nice vid's

  • wow, that's some intense footage

  • Wtf! they throw the dead body to the water?

  • @glenjacinto It's called burial at sea.

  • @glenjacinto where else? cant store the bodies on the ship..always been that way

  • @HinFoo Send their body to their family...

  • @HinFoo The Navy has used shipboard freezers to store dead bodies.

  • Looking for anyone who was on the USS Bunker Hill, 44-46. Or if you know of someone would appreciate a note with contat info.

    Thanks All!

  • I like seeing comments of people who defend their grand fathers and family members and their actions/choices and how they "fought" for their country. Not because they are correct or incorrect. But rather because they cannot accept they might be wrong.

  • stalingrad watch?v=jZc6doJPpRw

  • god some of these boys are so cute!! bless america!

  • What kind of film was used to record this in color? Is this like standard 8mm or something?

  • Congratulation for the excellent video on WW II.

Well, I´m desperately trying to put on a musical in my city, Florianópolis - south Brazil, using the war theme through the angle of the radio musical programmes. I'm phocusing London BBC Radio, Rio de Janeiro Radio Nacional and a local radio at the time Rádio Guarujá de Florianópolis. Money to back it up is the problem.

I hope to make this dream come true someday.

See the video: Sérgio Lima e Silva - "Tempos de Guerra e Paz" about it.

  • Shit, war is fucked up.

  • AMAZING FOOTAGE!

  • these guys where as hard as nails and I thank them for my Freedom!

they gave all so we could have all.

  • What kind of ammunition are they using to strafe the Japanese ships? It's amazing to see large ships being completely blown up by these bullets (or perhaps bullet isn't the right word for it -- sorry, I'm not a munitions expert). When this happens (ship exploding), is it from hitting the ship's fuel tanks, or its ammunition store?

  • @TroyOi Good old 50 caliber. When you see them loading the bullets into belts, the colored slugs are tracer rounds. The streaks of light you can see. An explosion can come from these rounds striking a gun magazine or fuel, either one. Pretty awesome shit, huh?

  • @kreepeemann Very much so. I don't recall any Hollywood WWII movie having such dramatic scenes -- ie, bullets wreaking havoc on big ships. Sometimes reality beats fiction. Are you referring to the scene at 2:15? Looks like every other bullet is a tracer. Perhaps u can answer a question: Did tracers always have the exact same trajectories as non-tracer bullets? I can see how there could be differences in weight & external forces acting on them. If so, tho, that would kinda defeat their purpose.

  • @TroyOi Tracers just had a powdered coating that burns off. Doesn't really affect the bullet. Read Saburo Sakai's book Samurai. Awesome telling of the pacific campaign through the other guys eyes.

  • I want to share this with FB, but the Bull crap that is added with thousands of words about jealousy and ridiculous spewing kept me from it. WTF? Can someone get that junk off about how much you eat, how much I eat and the elephant. who the hell cares about that. You are messing up a great video.

  • I want to share this with FB, but the Bull crap that is added with thousands of words about jealousy and ridiculous spewing kept me from it. WTF?

  • "Any landing you coan walk away from is a good one"

  • epic spelling fail... >.<

  • I really enjoy watching it b-coz its part of our history

  • i have respect for those pilots and crew! from a french guy.

  • Why can't wars only invovle shooting Nerf guns!

Have like one casualty from something like a freak accident involving a spoon go up someones ass.....

  • Wow, amazing that they survived all those crashes! Looks limke around 40%-80% were crashes. :V

  • 5 people from hiroshima clicked dislike

  • Great footage,thanks for sharing!

  • thank you grandfather

  • when the person crashes the guy in the back is like wtf u done now..

    (no disrespect intended)

  • Comments made by such simple minds, settling the most complex of issues, but only in their own mind,... fortunately. "There will be wars, and rumors of Wars".

  • dude holy shit did yall c that at 6:33 the guys windshield is covered with his own blood dam thats hardcore

  • 1:01 COCA COLA. EPIC

  • After the war, there was a lot of japanese whining about our use of the atomic bomb. I say, "Don't start nuthin', there won't be nuthin'.

  • AMERICAN

  • This film is hot (as my generation would say).

  • God Bless these men! And TO HELL with OBAMA, who probably curses them under his breath!!

  • @Scrap5000

Moronic statement: asking God to bless the men while cursing the one who leads the men in the same breath... stating what he "probably" does. There's nothing biblical about cursing your Commander in Chief, whether you like him or not.

  • @MrDen312 Hey MrDen: FUCK YOU!

  • @Scrap5000 I don't get it....really.

  • Superb material!

  • This is a great film !

  • In this war our enemy was clearly defined in this arena This danger still exists today but we are unable to recognize the enemy because of our "Global world" and "political correctness". Tthere is a time when some people will have to "suffer" the indignities of War. Remember people are still dying in this NON war we are engaged in today.

  • Just imagine if Hitler had won in Europe and Japan had won in Asia Pacific,

    Just Imagine.

Now say a pray and thank all the Allied servicemen and women that sacrificed their lives so we can sit here in YT and be total clueless about reality.

  • 7:37 "Cut !!! CUT"

    "RUN JEFF"

  • These brave men were buried at sea with honors, because there is no way to store bodies on ships. The Pacific war was hot and humid, so dead bodies decompose quickly. As far as the men buried at sea becoming shark food, PLEEESE !!!! The men are wrapped in cloth with metal plates, that cause them to sink to the bottom of the ocean. If you're in the Navy or USMC, it's considered an honor to be buried at sea, like many people do with having their ashes scattered in the ocean.

  • @Imskyhigh87 you're an idiot. 1. you are dead, no matter if its worm, shark, or crab...when you die your somebodies food. 2. why not ask a marine or navy officer how they feel about it as opposed to how YOU feel about it. You might be surprised by the answer. 3. luckily, because of those people whose deaths are a horrible part of war, you have that right and ability to rest next to your family for an eternity. Other lesser countries would just cremate you and toss you in a land fill.

  • @Imskyhigh87 you did show ungratefulness, as opposed to asking why do they dump the bodies overboard, you popped off about how "unamerican" it is without a clue. No, I never said weren't for me, I said for them. I'm not in the military. As far as simpleminded, well, I am not the one disgusted with a sanitary and honorable action of the 40's and using it as a basis for giving up on the navy. By calling their actions "unamerican" you don't have any military brothers; I daresay any friends period.

  • Comment removed

  • @Imskyhigh87 Is it bliss, you should know? I can see other viewpoints just fine. However, you even admitted, your viewpoints were WRONG! You made American bashing hate filled comments based on something you had no clue as to the reason, you just ASSUMED the worst case. It is typically the people who shot closed mindedness that are in fact closed minded. I don't share you're viewpoint, so I am a piece of shit. You said it NOW makes sense to you, meaning you shot off on something you haven't got

  • @LAjackandbecky a clue about and you are mad that you were called out.Get over yourself. Listen. I am going to help you. Yes, you have a small dick. Yes, you girlfriend is a whore and cheating on you. Yes, you mother really was a whore and I could be your father. No, it won't go away, you caught it from your whore gf and you need to go see a doctor. And finally Yes, sticking that in your ass does make you a faggot. Now, all of your questions about what is wrong in your life are answered. move on

  • Hope all this great military effort isn't for naught as we are being invaded from our southern border with the ok of bought and paid for fascist corporate flunky politiciians at the top. The traitor Bush gangsters sold our ass to the Chinese while Mexico invades from the south. I would like to see this kind of awesome military might exercised on restoring the Mexican border. But corporate America and their henchman won't allow as the dollar turns into the peso.

  • @tobycat11 - you can't blame the Bushes for China owning us, that goes to Nixon and all the administrations after his for selling out to China. I started noticing all the "Made in China" tags about the time of Jimmy Carter, and blamed him. Maybe we can blame him for not stopping it, but I don't think he would have.

  • Obviously, they dont consider anyone a threat

  • They really fucked up these planes!

  • is a true fact the U.S navy has always had the best food out of any military branch

  • @Dogmeat1950 i was in the navy, we dint had the best food, the air force did.

  • WHAT?! COLOR?!

  • easier just to watch this online - as its not the best movie to pay to watch latestreleasemovies ^dot ^com

  • Actually, it was the Army Air Corps. My grandfather was in and served with Doolittle over the Burma Hump, and i have all his memorabilia. There will never be a generation as great as a whole as they were then. Absolute courage, integrity, ingenuity, and resolve.

  • @daughteroftheAmerRev Never sell or donate that stuff, after working in a museum and a Library that while donations are appreciated so much gets lost in the shuffle. Just loan it to libraries and imbue a sense of respect and honor in your children. I cherish my grandfathers possessions, an airman in the 5th Air Force.

  • @daughteroftheAmerRev Are you certain you worded that correctly? Doolittle was never near The Hump.

  • FAN-TÁS-TI-CO!!!

  • im not a navy guy, i love the usaf, but i do give the navy alot of respect w/ their carriers during wwii. read the story about the intrepid by bill white, u will learn so much!

  • There was no united states airforce, there was the aircore

  • yes i know but it's easier to say usaf than usaaf or united stated army air force

  • Amazing! Great footage. History before my eyes! Thanks for posting it. surely a 5 star vid.

  • Great film! I agree - the term "Allied" then and today is meant to appease the few kernels that "contribute" in comparison. No need for apology - it continues to be the truth even as of this writing all over the globe!

  • Please visit the U.S.S. Hornet located in Alameda, CA. This aircraft carrier turned museum is a testiment to this video and is in very hard financial times. They need your donations to keep this valuable musuem open so we can appreciate what these valiant men went through. Or visit the U.S.S. Midway in San Diego, CA.

  • dam nice vid..ive always wondered what it wouldve been like if i was born in that era...

  • elmeeone i now it would be cool to actuly fight on one of thous

  • NOW go out a buy yourself a Toyota!!! ARGHHHH!!!

  • Great video & a stirring tribute to our great WWII U. S. Navy & those who served; part of what is truly "The Greatest Generation"! Only "nit-picky" comment I have is with the narrator of this who consistently speaks of "the allies", "allied forces", etc. I don't see any "allied" ships, planes, or men in this production, I see the GREAT United States Navy! God Bless 'Em & RIP all those who gave their lives! Semper Fi!

  • so the english dont mean Shit to you i guess. that figures. just remember who it is beside your lads in the gulf at the moment. and i dont mean the french

  • @inagrump, I certainly meant no disrespect at all towards the UK or any "allies". I simply pointed out the truth of the narration of this video. I appreciate the efforts (& sacrifices) of all the allies during WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and now Afghanistan. I apologize if you found my statement(s) offensive, such was not my intent. I was simply stating FACT about this particular video.

  • As I see it - your appreciation Shipmate is right on target. No need for apology. Only Obama does that.

  • @lligcmnala

    Right on!

  • (Feel free to down me)

M&Ms were made in WW2 so the soldiers there could enjoy the taste of chocalate without having it stick to your skin. Now it kinda pisses me off that they have them with faces talking and ext. I just wish people knew where they originally came from so that people would know that it was only ruined when it hit media.

  • How did they fight the war, without the gay rights, they are trying push through now?

  • I was in the Navy in Korean War. My brother and father were in WWII. My father, a Chief Boatswains Mate, was also in WWI. My uncle was gassed in WWi. His son was a pilot of B26's in WWII. My nephew just came back from Iraq. Politically we are all liberals willing to fight for our country. I never knew the politics of any one i served with. Is it possible that some of the guys in the 5 inch gun mount were conservatives? Think of yourselves as Americans - or can you?

  • You're a lying sack of sh! t too. Why do liberals feel they have to insert themselves into a world they don't have the guts to go? Typical libtard nazi @asswipe trying to spread mien kampf disinformation.

  • @lligcmnala True liberals do not sacrifice anything of their own, only what belongs to others.

  • @lligcmnala Not sure what your comments have to do with this magnificent video.

  • mave.foorumi.eu

  • Not today's right wing fascist conservatives that's for sure.

  • @lligcmnala This might be the best comment I have ever seen on a youtube video.

  • AMAZING footage! Great video!

  • War is hell but some can't imagine what it's like to be out on the front lines fighting to keep America and its allies free knowing that there are those back home that do not support their efforts to keep their leftest ass' free. A real shame on these asinine sleeping in a warm clean bed. It was that way back in the 60's and still today we have those same idiot's offspring carrying on their parents crap. What a pity. Wake Up America.

  • War IS the answer - you idiot fucking libs - look at Japan and Germany today and Iraq in 20 years. These guys are heroes beyond belief!

  • No shit, liberals/progressives have NO clue. Not to mention they are THE most arrogant, pretentious, clueless and ungrateful to our fore fathers people we have ever in seen in America.

Just ask ANYBODY from Eastern Europe or southeast Asia that grew-up in communism, they will tell you how fucking stupid liberals from here are

  • @imntacrook

Lol. I am not a pacifist. So let's you and I declare war on the idiot conservatives and tea baggers !

  • @truthbetoldagain I don't think that all liberals are anti-American, it just seems that any time you hear a comment demeaning or blaming America for something, it's usually made by a liberal.

  • @kreepeemann Funny you should say that. Because every time I hear something ignorant, bigoted or unconstitutional, it always seems to come from the mouth of a conservative .

  • @imntacrook you are simply an idiot

  • Where da women at?

  • Excellent film I downloaded it online for free here superbmovies (.) info

  • anybody ever read the info under the guise of protectacow?

  • @ali4330 : It appears you have been indoctrinated by the liberal schools somewhere in the USA, to bad I love the history of this country and I spent three years as a soldier . I can tell you this it is where the men are separated from the boys . We enslaved no one , say what you want no one believes it . We have not taken one inch of ground from any one in another country, only to bury our dead.

  • @yourfriendandmine Either you pretending or you truly ignorance of the US oppressive policies to others. That is an ordinary americans weaknesses,You didnt want to know more beyond your country's border

  • 1:08 WTF is buddy looking at?

  • The real American hero !

  • US fire control and rescue operations were far superior than that of the Japanese. This is why the Japs had to resort to Kamikaze's, cause they ran out of good pilots while the US maintained it's core pilots. ..The difference between two civilizations..

  • great vid!

  • why they throw them i n the ocean!?>!?!

  • How many of the comments above are from veterans? My guess..... zero!

  • Retired Marine Corps pilot here, so I guess that's one for sure, pferd.

  • "Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum." (Those who would have peace must prepare for war.) A strong war-ready military capacity has a DETERRENT effect against those who might otherwise opt for military aggression. If England/France had had war-ready military capacity, Hitler might have stayed home; same for China/Korea/etc. vis-a-vis Japan. In short, counter-intuitive though it may seem to some, strong war-ready military preparedness is a deeply moral act and helps to minimize warfare.

  • Those who long for peace, must prepare for war.

GOD BLESS ALL OUR SOLDIERS, PAST AND PRESENT!

  • Look close at the video MORON, there are people of all colors walking around - DUH! Gotta play the race card eh jerkoff?

  • Where is the black guy? And the hispanics? WTF lol

  • They weren't around...back when America was better

  • As Dr. Laura recently said, there is a difference between murder and killing. Murder is the killing of innocents, a crime; whereas killing violent people, while always horrible, is something that, at times, cannot be avoided - say, for instance, when a person is about to kill innocent civilians. Soldiers and law enforcement people know how hateful killing is. They hate war and death, yet know that the alternative may be allowing death a free rein.

  • As painful as it is to say it, war is a necessary and instinctive part of human kind. Don't you think that

  • by the way.... cool footage

    greetz from Europe

  • I don't especially like killing people either, but there are those who want to kill us. So, all I can say about your comment is, If

you don't want to stand behind our troops, you are welcome to stand in front of them!

  • @Thecoolers07 : Very well said. I second your sentiments.

  • @Thecoolers07 oh jeez!!!! that's soo american!!! nobody would like to kill you if your country didn't mess with all the entire world. It is not personal man but your country does't respect anything

  • @Thecoolers07 Morons like that need to go to some Islamic country and serve as human shields to protect other muslims from the Islamikazis. Lets see how much balls they have then.

  • idiot liberal jibberish......

  • god bless all these guys..for their service for this great country..sorry for all thats passed as well. GOD BLESS AMERICA..

  • @silentsniper52 GOD DOESN'T EXISTS MY OPINION

  • amen to are army heros...

  • So proud to be an American! I am so grateful for our heroes.

    Fair winds and following seas...

  • Слава и честь ему и всем Морякам!!!!!

  • um...English? lol.

  • May Fair ветры наполнят Ваши паруса, и море будет спокойным.

  • May fair the winds fill your sails, and the sea will be calm

  • May fair winds fill your sails and the sea be calm.

  • translation

Glory and honor him and all Seafarers !!!!!

  • According to Google, the English translation is -

"Glory and Honor, him and all seafarers."

  • Glory and honor to it and to all seamen!!!

    amen brother

  • My Dad served on the USS Ticonderoga in the pacific. His name was Anthony Caccavale. For those of you who know,

he was a plank owner. Ed Caccavale

  • My father in law served on it. He still goes to the reunions. He is in his 80's now. I wonder if they knew each other. I will ask him tomorrow.

  • Hi....... My Dad passed quite awhile ago. He would have been in his mid nineties now. Like I said he was one of the original

crew. The Big T was one of the new Essex class carriers, commissioned in 1944. It was hit by a Kamikaze off the coast of Formosa, Jan. 1945. Ask your father in law, and thanks for the reply.

  • Our deepest condolences in the loss of your dad...as belated as they may be. It is with certaintly then they served together. He remembers the kamikaze and the profound loss of life, limb and friends. Reading your dad's name again to get it correct and will post again...to see if they knew each other.

  • thats pretty cool. i would love to have a family that was a part of history like this. i'd love to hear all the stories. haha yesss 1060 W. addison, finally someone knows what the 1060 stands for! hmmm and they need to get it in gear... take care!

  • damn at 4:26 to 4:35 that is some amazing footage. wow

  • Побили нафиг всех Японцев!!!!!!!!

  • Great video but the description, I believe, is total bullshit and I do not feel the need to go into it any further, to be honest...

  • Exactly. I started yawning when the attempt to relate 2 world wars to Buddhism was obvious.

Tell your cows to stop polluting our planet with so much methane.

Or start eating them...or sell them to us so we can eat them.

  • Haha, you made me laugh, it's true, though! Hey maybe you can help me with something here, I found a video of some interview with a veteran who served in the Pacific, but I noticed something strange with the video... I'll link you soon, hang on.

  • Okay here, check it out, and read the comments then tell me what you think.

  • check your messages. Send me the link.

  • LOL! Nice Landing. XD

  • This is a film that you cannot avoid. I'm humbled by their bravery. Just imagine the struggle. My deepest respect for them. For those who died: Requiscat in pace!
