I like it a lot. You guys have balls just to do a song like this. Good guitar playing. But the singer need lay off the falsetto and goofiness at the end, just use your own voice and you're fine.
never mind the singer .. noone can sing it like anselmo did ... but that's not important ... they celebrate Pantera by doing this cover... am i the only one who saw the drummer - wtf - huge arms creature :)
A Valiant attempt its gotta be said. The quality of the vid makes it harder to tell how good or bad a cover it is. That other dude was right, they needed a much heavier vocalist to do this song the justice it deserves. Still, enjoyable cover lads (Y)
not terrible... also not a song that can be successfully covered. guitar was very good. no harmonics but your tapping totally rocks..... GREAT drums. seriously your drummings really is great.......vocals.. eek. maybe your monitors werent working very well. I have that alot too. anyway...nice job :)
rendishon. 2be honest tjhis is my maybe 12th post, but i just think if your going to analize details, spelling might be something to look into.
this is one of the the top guitarists, and ridiculous ( see spelling bee champion "97) to play. After 15 years of playing, I take note of my relative saying replicating the best guitarists, you only hit 3/4 of the notes.
Singer was pretty bad not going to lie. Was good a decent amount of the time, but when he was bad, he was *really* bad. Otherwise quite good. A few pinches would've been helpful, but whatever.
he needs to add more rasp to the voice, and he kinda just pops his voice up instead of whispering it, I didnt like the way it skipped a little bit too, sounds odd
then again lets see any of you get up there and dish out the Dimebag harmonics. Good luck with that.....Cowboys from hell will never be seen again, well not at least til I die!!
RIP my cowboyyyyy, DIME..."getcha pull of that Shit"
fukin awesum cover, singers good.guitar-ok. the dude on the drums looks like hulk. PANTERA FOREVER.. im gonna play this song on stage at my first gig in a couple of weeks.
solo was good no doubt they changed it up to mych for my taste i like the originall my self but thas juz my opinion the singer needs a lot of work but im juz used to phil singing this but all in all good job on the song at least you guys dint murder it like sum other ones have
duh!!! this band was so great but the vocals is so crazy. he fucked up on the lyrics in the second verse and he didnt put as much feeling into the lyrics like phil anselmo. waaaah!!!
actually, the best cover of cemetary gates.... this motherfuckers are talking shit.... they don't remember that it's not of your intention to imitate pantera, but do a tribute; and the solo was great =]
IMHO the cover is well done but the singer, to put it mildly, messed it up;] but the solo is nice; I think it is better that he played it that way (the easier way) as maybe otherwise he would spoil it completely... and maybe he was aware of it;> cheers;)
The guitar is fine I guess, but the singing is not in any way a compliment to Pantera, and that little jungle call at the end of the song kinda made me want to strangle the guy singing.
at the end theory is just a tool, if you dont back it up with feelling there just notes, the solo is impresive but lack somethings,i just can't be compared to dimebag
The singer really sucks, not te be extemely negative, but he really is horrible. As for the solo, I disagree with you fez, I think the solo lacked the voicing that Dimebag had. I think the reason he played the solo that way was because he couldn't play Dimebag's note for note. The solo he played was actually easier than Dimebags.
im rele glad you guys enjoyed what i did with the solo... i was waiting for tons of negative comments for daring to stray from dimes solo, its nice to see i was wrong
Now these kids obviously knew their theory, and really applied it, hence the better solo. They dared to break away from what dimebag does, and do something original. It's what any real musician would do.
i wasn't disrespecting dimebag. Dimebag is a great guitarist, but that doesn't mean somebody can't do better than him. Listen, dimebag didn't know much theory at all. He knew the major minor and chromatic scale, and that's it. While going over his solos, he would admit that he didn't know what the hell they were, they just sounded cool.
how can you say he didnt know any theory.did you know him personally?did you ever listen to any of his riffs? listen to revolution is my name and tell me if he doesnt know any theory.the man is one of the most dominating guitarist in our time.i guess if you dont rip up the neck with boring arpeggios you dont know much?does that go for jeff beck and david gilmoure as well.

Greate.. really good. The singer is pretty good, its has a diferent timbre of voice.. but who cares...

The singer doesnt really have the vocal capacity to give this song justice, way too bright.
But hey, he tried atleast :)

Reminds me of pre-cowboys phil. but he does still need to scream more.
part from that good

could use some harmonics

mmm... you have a good sound. but why don´t you try to sound like the original Pantera song????
Get the riffs correct dude....well the solo was diferent but not bad.
And...the outro doesn,t have the harmonic squeals, but a regeaton rithm jaja.

i have heard karokee better than this...
but the band is great... singer needs lessons... it's not that he can't sing this,
it's he didn't practice it, he had no monitors
a rookie thing... and needs to learn how to hold a mike so it comes through.... peace out
some parts -are cool and some are crap...hence
lessons... he jeff tate took opera lessons look where he is...

Sorry. The ending wails make this song. It just feels wrong without them. And it's downright painful with the little yelping noise.
