  • Can i put this drumset to pc to use with Virtual Drum Machine for better sounds?

  • @tvorozhock I don't think so. Its not that involved.

  • @SeraphimHD What numbers of these sounds then? Especially for toms, theyre sounds great

  • are the pedals, sensitive?

  • @ale0kiss not really. There's a 'click point' that you can feel when it actuates the trigger. Perfectly honest, they suck.

  • What is the price and where did you buy them?

  • @Kokoska58 BHPhotoVideo

  • were did u buy them

  • @OriginalDgksk8crew BHPhotoVideo

  • Awesome review. Thanks man.

  • I just bought this drum set... it's really good. And the song you, you can play to it

  • I'm getting one of these for Christmas and I saw one in Costco (store in UK) for £160.

  • Great review :)

  • Can you set it so the hi-hat can become a second base peddle? :o

  • @YTKimi Yes, I have my custom 14th kit like that.

  • Odd, this kit is exactly like the Alesis DM6.

  • Does this drum kit allow you to store ur own sounds?

  • any midi conection?

  • @lasvegaslocas There is no midi....

  • Hey, I'm looking at getting one of these cheap on Craig's List., but I just wanted to know how expandable it is. You said you can add one more symbol with the adapter you show, but is that all the expansion you can do? can you add more triggers? Thank you.

  • @lostinlymbo4 It's not all that expandable. All the cords run into a connector, which then runs into the brain. There's not any empty slots for anything you want. You can add a cymbal because there's one free 1/4in. cable that's already apart of the main ones.

  • would this be good for a total beginner?? as in, is gonna start lessons soon??

  • @Videofool12 YES. This set is great for a beginner and is great to keep as you get better so you can practice at home.

  • @SeraphimHD thanks my dad saw it for £180 in costco. i know what i'm getting for christmas...

  • hey those pedals look really weak are they tough ? will they break if you stomp on em hard enough? and ALso can you record it and mix it with other instruments like pt drums on your album i have a studio and want to record

  • @ElliotJMusic I would put them about the same quality as the Rock Band pedals. They are plastic and cheap. But you can buy a bass drum trigger tower for like $50 and use a real pedal. My experience from making the video and recording the drums it was all in one track, not split for bass drum, snare, etc that you would need for mixing a song. If you are wanting to record drums, this isn't the kit you need. Trust me.

  • This was a very honest and insightful video. I've been playing drums for 50 years and I still practice every day, I too am a Christian and play at my church. Keep practicing as you are pretty good for the amount of time you have been playing, Do you know any rudiments. You may be aware of the site but go to Vic Firth and you can learn alot from them. I am always inspired by listening to other drummers.

  • @baldeagle9052 Yes I do know some rudiments. I'm pretty proficient with triplets, but still practice all that I can.

    Appreciate you watching!!!

  • great video. is that a dm6 module on there? Also can u import ur own wave sounds into the module?

  • @digiminer It doesn't say its a DM6, just says Pro session. And you can't import sounds into this brain. Its a very basic drum brain.

  • Answered a bunch of questions! Thanks man!

  • @AMERICANxDEAGLE Appreciate it!

  • good job at showing the kit, but dont bust alesis down, i just bought an Alesis DM8 Pro kit and the sounds are very good, as long as you use the correct amplification system, which i do. Otherwise real good video

  • @bobbyboy1962 Just from my experience, Alesis sounds aren't so good for drums. We have a TOA speaker set with 2 Bag End subs on a 5000 watt system and a Presonus Studio Live mixer. When you've heard the sounds from Superior Drummer software, all other software drum sounds are voided for me.

  • So would I be able to buy a Roland brain and hook it up to this drum kit??

  • @19Drumming94 I don't see why not, but I wouldn't though honestly. These triggers aren't that great for how good the Roland brains are.

  • Is this the IED12? :)

  • @UncleGyro No

  • @SeraphimHD This is the IED12. u r wrong. i should know since i hav 1

  • @UncleGyro Yes this is the IED12

  • Can you make it do double bass?

  • @6o66y Yes but you lose your hi hats. When I do that I just play with cymbal.....

  • iHate when you think negatve

  • @SeraphimHD when you talk about these drums how the sound sucks etc.....

  • @TechDeckMaster4321 Its not about me thinking negative, its about I am around actual good sounding drums all the time, and these don't compare. These are strictly practice drums. Not being negative, only factual.

  • @SeraphimHD i thinking of getting one should i for $262.82 is it worth but i also have a gift card it has $120

  • can you upload different sounds onto it? so if you wanted to upload maybe a different sounding snare?

  • @Bassisbeastiful Not that I know of. You need to use drum modeling software for that.

  • friend has this set i like it!

  • So is this set pretty quite? I plan on using headphones so thats good, but will the tapping be tooloud im not that hard a hitter but we live in a town house? Ive used my practice pad and so far noones complained

  • @therailwizard1994 Yes it is very quiet. If you make sure to hit the rubber pads its not bothersome at all.

  • What recording software did you use?

  • good vid bro!!! im looking for a decent electronic kit to get started out with that wont hurt my wallet!!!

  • does it change the sound when you for exemple hit the outsider part of the pads ?

  • is this drumset good to make covers??

  • @kesillo627 This set is good ONLY for practice.

  • Did you get this from AMS?(american music supply)

  • @seraphimHD so you plug the aux cable to the output on the module and to the microphone jack on the computer?

  • @seraphimHD where can you buy those?

  • @MrHomeegee Most anywhere. Wal mart, online, radio shack, etc.

  • how do you plug the module to the computer?

  • @MrHomeegee I used a standard AUX cable, same size as a headphone plug. Not good quality but it works.

  • Seraphim, thanks for the video session. It was very good. Glad you play for the Lord. Hey I see that you have it connected to you Apple Laptop, which I use and also Mac Mini. But have you used another Audio Interface with the Ion Drum set, and also with any other software like "Ableton Live, Studio One, Or Pro Tools?. Let me know, Kennyg

  • Dude... can I just say how amazing you are?! Best drum review, and review in general, I have ever seen. Especially for a guy like me. I've been wanting to play drums so bad forever now and here finally is a cheap kit thats perfect for practice at home and won't piss my parents off! Thank you soo much!!! You rock!! But umm, do you just plug any ole' speakers into it to get it to actually make the sounds? Like, does it need any external hardware besides the speakers if i just wanna play? Thanks!

  • Thanks I appreciate it. I just got tired of people giving lackluster reviews on YouTube.

Yes, you can use any speakers or headphones (like iPod ear buds, etc.), but I use computer speakers that has a sub woofer. I find it important so you can feel the lows from the kick drum and low toms.

    Thanks for watching!

  • @SeraphimHD Cheers! Glad I didn't throw away my old sub woofer, hehe.

  • Cheers for this review....helped lots.... I am just about to start learning.... However need to keep the noise down and haven't really got the room... but my set is on the way..... :)

  • @johnuklivecom Awesome! Stick with it!

  • it seems very confusing for a beginner

  • @killingman22 It's not really. You gotta start somewhere :)

  • does it need a sound board?

  • @VAUGExAINA Nope.

  • where did you buy it from

  • @arsenalyoungunners14 Bhphotovideo

  • hi, my bass pedal broke after 2 weeks, do you have an idea where can i replace those. The wiring seems to be all intact, help!

  • @amsdio I would guess if you can find a rock band pedal, that would work. Just make sure it has a quarter inch cable input on it.

If not, call up Alesis, who owns ION and tell them the situation. As I explained in the video, I had to do that when one of my pads stopped working.

  • Great video, I was just wondering where you got the cable to plugin to the computer I can't seem to locate one. Let me know thanks!

  • @chrislyons11 All it is is a AUX cable. Radio shack, amazon.com, wal mart, etc. It's a pretty standard cable to find.

  • @SeraphimHD great thanks... whats the program? <(Sorry if i am annoying!)

  • @warchild1976 I believe you can. Haven't done it though.

  • what do you do with the ride cymbal? I'm trying to find a separate cymbal that has the same jack

  • @Annoyingthing321 I just use the one cymbal as a crash rather than a ride. I don't have any other cymbal than that and the hi hat.

  • do you know if an optional cymbal can be added?

and this kit can be used on rock band?

    thank you

  • @bludrugo29 Since all of the pieces of the kit come together into one plug that goes into the brain, I don't think there's a way to add more pieces.

  • @SeraphimHD thank you....can u use this with rock band?

  • ummmm....you know this is the Ion Drum Rocker....with a sound module

  • @Jcces44LetsPlays The Ion Drum Rocker has colored pads. Plus I don't need Rock Band to use it :)

  • @SeraphimHD

The pads arent colored. they have removable rings on them

  • @Jcces44LetsPlays Same thing, whatever. This is a higher, more durable quality though.

  • @SeraphimHD

In actuality, its the exact same thing

  • does it come w/ sticks?

  • @AbdiXL Yes, very, very crappy sticks.

  • thumbs up for silly band at 7:27 lol

  • dude, ive been looking all night for a decent drum kit, i've been looking at this one for a while now...im from the uk and an electronic store called maplins (dont know if they have them where you're from dude) and it's priced at £249

after watching this vid im defo getting this kit, thanks dude.

and btw, you are an awsome drummer

  • @pealeigh Glad my video made you decide to buy this kit!

And thanks for the compliment! I'm just practicing like everyone else!

  • @SeraphimHD picking it up tomorrow i think dude, im'a add the ride like you said, it's a little disapointing that it only comes with one cymble..but yeah thanks again dude.

  • great review. i just wanna ask if this ied12 same with the module that comes with the ied11?

  • @Ferjon03 Not sure! Sorry....

  • @SeraphimHD its ok. no problemo! thanks!

  • I have a question. If I was to get the bass modual and a regular double bass pedal with the dual beaters would it recognise that as a double bass? would something like that work?

  • @SkyFixation As long as you have a bass drum trigger stand like the one I annotated in the video, real double bass pedals will be fine.

  • where did you get it for $230?

  • @lebonpatron More like $260 bhphotovideo DOT c o m search ion pro session

  • @SeraphimHD I wish it was $260... it's up to $295 now

  • @marhec69 Sorry to hear that!

  • I've been waiting for a good review on this drum set! Thanks man Very nicely done. A few questions though.

Do you know if you can switch out the module and can you add more pads and symbols?

  • @FenderTeleStrat2360 I don't see how you could switch out the module because all of the 1/4in cables come into one ribbon cable that goes into the module. Same reason why I don't see how you can add any more pads or cymbals.

This isn't a very customizable set. It's meant for getting beats down and practicing to keep your skill up and growing.

  • @FenderTeleStrat2360 You can just use your own drum brain and connect the cables to it if you want though. The drum set is just padded triggers, so any brain you connect will work.

  • This is a great review! I just have a couple questions to ask before I buy this..

    1. Is there a double bass hook up?

    2. Can the module be switched?

    3. Is there a MIDI hook up?

If you could answer this that would be great. :)

  • @gluke35 No double bass hook up, but you can make the hi hat pedal another bass pedal.

No midi hook up, and see the reply to FenderTeleStrat2360 for the module.

  • So, Can you have sound coming out of the drums without a amp?

  • can u add a different module?

  • @dustin102432 yes i actually have this kit with a Roland module and bass pad

  • @Damwaszx thanks man!! im new to electronic drums

  • i getting mine soon...cant wait

  • thanks man this was really helpful.

  • nice review man! loved it! :)

  • Sorry, guess youtube doesn't allow posting links so I had to spell it out.

  • @SeraphimHD What does it sound like acoustically? Like with no speakers how loud is it, I want one that's quiet. I hope you answer.

  • @Rank0r277 Not loud at all if you don't have a speaker system on it. If you are wearing headphones and playing, people around you will be perfectly fine with the sound of the sticks hitting the rubber pads.

  • bhphotovideo DOT c o m search ion pro session

  • I would like to know where you purchased this kit, Im really looking into getting one of these and would like to find a good price.

  • The cheapest I can find is $265

  • Awesome! I appreciate it...

  • this looks just like the ion drum rocker I have

  • Great video. My video is pretty lame because it wasn't meant for a Ion Pro Sessions Review, and more of an update for my channel. I am very shocked it has gotten so many views! I'll be sure to reccomend this video to people who comment on my video about the kit.

  • @TheTomjonavich before I got my Ions, I wanted to buy this
