  • I totally agree with some of the other commenters; you have to use anything for more than two weeks. I use the product and I love it to death. It really has done wonders for my skin. I think the people who knock this product really got to get off the "I use Crisco on my face" dumbassery tangent. Obviously, by way of how much this product sells, La Mer does do something for many (though not all, of course) users.

  • lol.

  • I gave your video a thumbs up because you are so cute and funny with your descriptions! (I do use la mer and absolutely love it, though)

  • *for being so expensive, would contain mineral oil!

  • It made my skin soft and less dry but then again, so did Crisco. It's hard to believe a product likd la mer for beinb s

  • whatever. I tried their products and fell in love instantly. They're really good.

  • creme de la mer = vaseline with a crap smell

  • It may not be a miracle, but la Mer did work for me. It soothed and healed my skin when I had a sunburn. It also is the only cream that keeps my face from becoming red. I tried everything on earth for my rosacea and this was the only thing that worked. I'm not crazy enough to spend the money on it though, but have had so many sample jars that I can vouch for the product.

  • Go woman !!!!!!!!! You are absolutely right !!! Try Korres !

  • Creme De La Mer works AMAZINGLY on my scarred skin. A lot of redness in newer scarring disappeared in just a few days with this product. In a week I'm seeing a reduction in pitting. Sorry it didn't work out for you, maybe your expectations were too high. The guy who created it did so as a result of burns he received during a fire at his lab, this lotion was made specifically to treat scarring. There are no fountains of youth in a bottle, and not even surgery will pull 20 years away.

  • That's probably because there's really no antiaging creme...lol! But in order to keep your face clean, bright and hydrated...try the Bobbie Brown skin care line. OMG, its doing miracles for my face, the make-up looks great and it gives you a smooth face and the night cream smells heavenly.

  • @benzchic909 That's not even really a bad thing. If you're looking for old fashioned moisturizing, La Mer is great but I prefer more high tech ingredients like niacinamide or hylerounic(sp) acid. Stuff like Retin A, aha/bha, good sunscreens, vitamin C, etc WILL work wonders for your skin. La Mer just moisturized which will make it feel more supple and soft.

  • TWENTY YEARS YOUNGER?? that's a lot to ask of ANY cream. She must be meaning that sarcastically.

  • every skin is different, i tried different kind of creams as i have very dry skin, and really works on me! wonder how does not work for u

  • Creme de La Mer works wonders for me actually, and with a very small amount; a tiny one ounce jar can last me months. I think the key is in applying it correctly. I only use it at night, it's too heavy for daytime. Other products in the line are great as well, but like any skincare line, not EVERY product is worth it, in my opinion.

  • I just completed a market research study using La Mer... and have gotten nothing but compliments on my skin ever since. It takes more than 2 weeks to give it a chance to "soak in" as it is for hydrating and suppleness, not for wrinkles. Some skin types may react differently to certain products....

  • I AGREE> IT'S BS

What a shame to ask for 260 for a cream not better than olive oil THEY SHOULB BE SUE IT I spent 500 on their creams and saw no results As you I respected the protocol and ......NOTHING SHAME ON LA MER

  • I agree. I have used it and my face got a rash. Most women try a million different products and so obviously, nothing really works. Why would we keep searching??

  • i doubt u have tried Perricone, it is the only line that I have actually seen results with and I have tried them all, I agree LaMer is all hype, did nothing for me either.

  • Who cares what you think. I couldnt even finish watching you. Blah Blah complain complain just stick to your cheap drugstore brand and shut it:)

  • I've using the gel one and it does really help my terrible skin from acne look even better, acne scars poof pow be gone. You need to take a little more time not only 2 weeks. All the people I know has a flawless skin, they Beaty secret are drink a lot of water, cod liver oil, eat good and BAM!!!! LA MER products.

  • you have such a cool personality!!!!

  • My favorite is Aquaphor.

  • Amen! I tried this and it did absolutely NOTHING that a thirty dollar moisturizer couldn't do. I saw no difference or improvement in my skin that warranted the price.

  • @ScentedAir I tried it, it was amazing

  • The stuff works.. It's not for everyone, especially if you are used to thin moisturizers or moisturizers that absorb quickly. For me, it evens my skin tone, moisturizes, tightens up my pores and helps my dark circles. I will only have this face for one lifetime, so $250 a jar is worth it to me. I have noticed that the puffiness in my eyes have gone down and my make-up applies better. I have not used anything like it.

  • @psYchoMjR You got that right!! :D

  • It contains petroleum, probably a scam.

  • Stop bitching!

  • I actually use Creme de la Mer for evening out my skin tone and making my acne scars less noticeable. I do notice a big difference from before I used the creme. So I do think la mer works for different reasons.

  • Creme de la mer is NOT for wrinkles and does not make you look 20 years younger. they dont claim that. Its for HYDRATION AND SUPPLENESS. They do make serums for anti aging like the regenerating serum. I'm only 22 and i use the gel along with the serum and works fab! Its all about preference and what works for you, so dont lower la mer's status.

  • Creme De La Mer totally cleared my acne which I've had for about 20 years! Just get the products aimed at your skin type!

  • If you have never used why would you buy the 2 oz for $230 instead of the 1oz for $130? Also it takes your skin 30 days for your cells to turn over and see results. Were you aware of how to correctly apply it, because if not the marine botanicals are not activated and the only thing on your skin is powerful ingredients suspended and trapped in creme, which is useless.

  • Your skin is already in good shape. I don't see wrinkles or anything! I assume you're in your mid thirties or thereabouts--that's still a young woman. If I had the $, I would try Dr. Perricone products.

  • Not an okay or true comment. This is her opinion and she's within her rights.

  • you have to try something for longer than two weeks to see if it works!!

  • it's really not a product for the common....but thanks anyhow.

  • It also has to do with different skin types.

And you can expect something to work in the time of two weeks. You have to fully use the product in order to see complete results.

Also, it's not exactly a "hype", it's just good reviews over bad reviews.

  • What Nivea product is close to Cream de la Mer? Is it just the basic lotion or is it a face wash or something else?

  • the Nivea product that has the same ingredients as La Mer , except for the seaweed extract, is the cream in the blue tin, the classic Nivea cream. If you live in the US you will probably get the one made in Mexico, you have to get the one made in Germany, which is the original. good luck! (it is an excellent product, i have been using it ever since and my skin has never looked better.)

for further reviews check up makeupalley.

  • Ha, La Mer fans are having a fit about this video. Creme de la Mer will moisturize nicely but so can the original Nivea or cold cream for crying out loud. It's nothing special and the hype is very artificial even by beauty industry standards.

  • I tried the Creme de la Mer for some time(bought 2 jars) but I came to the conclusion that it is not worth the money. Cheaper products do the same and cost a fourth at the most......creams never work wonders anyway, those you can only expect from a surgeon.

  • what a pile of BS!!! La Mer never claimed their cream will turn you into Gisele Bundchen, not in 2 weeks , not in 100 years. it's just a fantastic cream that does what it says it will- have a great skin, u mammoth...

  • Comment removed

  • Really? 20 years younger? Talk about HIGH expectations....nothing would live up to that! I'm not sure what jar you bought, but it's not $200 something.....maybe next time ask for samples. Then you're not out the money and the product isn't wasted....

  • You can make your own by using the ingredients from SkinActives - go Google to wonderful skin.

  • this is so0 not true although everythingis not gunna work same on every body it certainly made miracles on my face which is so0 dry and abused from NY crazzy always changing weather and traveling often to sunny places and back to snow...creme de la mer is the best out there so worth it 100%

  • I use Creme de la Mer, and it's the only cream that works so well with my extremely dry, sensitive skin. I've spent literally thousands of dollars trying all sorts of different specialty creams - I have yet to find anything that works even close to this. I just wish they hadn't gone up in price.

  • Creme de la mer saved my ass. it's the only thing that IMMEDIATELY calmed the huge sun-burn on my legs. It's amazing for anything, face, burns, random rashes, razor burn, anything.

BTW they aren't paying me to say this.

  • HELLO!!!!!

You have to use the cream for a longer period of time! DUH!

It's not all going to work in one day, genius!

The Cream is fabulous... There isn't a single cream that will do wonders in a week! "20 years younger"... wow... you have no clue when it comes to skincare!

  • What if you have oily skin? Will it make it oilier?

  • If you use the Gel version of Creme de la mer then oillness should not be a problem. They also have products for oily skin.

    Take Care

  • Thats your opion .. for me works perfectly!

  • creme de la mer has mineral oil as one of it's ingredients!!!!! a cream is a cream.... no matter how u make it .... distillation or not it should make no difference at all. yeah i agree that maybe the consistency can change but come on!!!!! my mom uses pond's cold cream and her skin looks glowing all the time. companies like la mer can produce ridiculously overpriced products coz there are fools out there who demand products of such price!!!

  • thats surprising.

    i just got some today

    gonna see how it goes...

im sure its not gonna make someone look

    10, 20 years younger...

u seem to already have smooth skin

so maybe u wouldnt notice a diff

  • I have been using creme de la mer since sept 2008 and i have differently seen a difference, i have a glow in my skin i didnt have before and the pores around my nose are disappearing, i dont know what your skin regime is, but you have to use the creme for a while before you see results, yes its espensive, but its worth every penny

  • lmao its also not goin to make u look 20 years younger in 2 weeks either lololol i went and got some about 4 days ago now, used morning and night and its actually not that bad, so i cant wait to see wat my skins like when the pots nearly finished....

  • I'm a 23 year old male medical student and I do modeling (is that the expression?) once a week, so I get little rest. My agency finances La Mer, I've been using it for about 15 months now. It's very good. In the photos you can tell the difference. The sleepless nights don't show! But it's absurdly expensive (I just use it because the agency finances it...).

Biotherm is very good for people with normal skin (maybe not for dry skin). Use it 2X/day; with an eye balm 1X/day I think you'll be fine.

  • I have been using Creme de la mer for about 8 years now. I own almost the ENTIRE line and it works wonders for me! Your problem is you keep jumping around so much that your skin is confused and won't adjust properly to any product. You SHOCKED your pores so now you suffer the consequences. Time heals all. For devotees out there "The Concentrate" works better than the cream (or any cream). Try getting a sample and see for yourself. I see instant results! Use after cleaning and toning.

  • Sorry, but I disagree. Creme de la Mer moisturizes my dry, sensitive skin like nothing else. I LOVE it! I just wish it didn't cost so much - because of the price, I have to skimp and only use it once in awhile, when my skin needs it most. But I ALWAYS see a difference when I use it.

  • apparetnly its not about the ingridients, its about the way its distilled!?

  • Creme de la mer has the same ingredients as Nivea. N'uf said

  • My gal is crazy over Revive. She said that it worked better than Creme de la Mer! Girls... :)

  • i think de la mer is just fine, i use it, its kinda oily but i really liked it. It makes skin looks healthy - bit shiny, blushed natural skin with little glow. When i use de la mer i dont even use foundation.

Though i followed someone's tips and i discovered something quite shocking:

EXACTLY THE SAME RESULT I GOT BY USING A LITTLE BIT OF BUTTER!!! I kid you not, i use pinch of 2 euros butter instead of 300 euros creme de la mer, and i got the same awesome result!

  • @PaniLusia Butter contains a concentrated dose of vitamin A (and also D). So it really helps to regenerate skin. I often used butter and honey for healing lips in winter. And it's much better then any creme.

BUT butter is not a beauty product and it cases specific smell... for example.

And that also means that your skin needs that particular vitamins )

  • Maybe it just doesn't work for you. I've tried all those drugstore moisturizers and they just don't work as well as creme de la mer. I have very red areas around my nose and they've almost completely gone away with la mer! the eye cream is excellent too =] and jeez, just because something didn't work for you, doesn't mean you have to be sore about it.

  • yeah don't waste the money.

  • HEY!!! maybe it didn't work for your skin, but it works for me! maybe you had to wait longer! maybe you have bad skin!

  • lol stupid girl. la mer is amazing and yes u do need at least 28 days for ur skin to renew duh.

creme de la mer is amazing. it keeps my skin looking amazing, and im a model so yes my looks are everything. :)

  • you have good skin i guess.

and applying la mer wouldnt make you a goddess.

im sure should be good effects on you if you continued using it.

20 years younger from a cream?

i think you like a miracle from heaven, you cant find it in a bottle.

you need a knife and a lot more than just 250 dollars.

impatient. you jump from one product to another. your skin must be immune to everything now.

  • you need 28 days for your skin to have total renewal. of course it didn't work. you need patience.

  • well i've been using it and notice a difference in the texture of my skin. I've seen this comment posted on other website, uhmm. Is this your review or are you reading someone else experience.

  • honey the only way to look 20 year old is just plasic surgery and face it nothing can change the age:)

  • well, you can't see the difference within 2 weeks. i've been using it recently, and it works for me. maybe you just need to wait for longer time.
