Ah. The POV makes you think the camera is really below them but if you stand on a ladder and aim down, it appears that you are under them. I think that is how they did it. They also lay on their backs. The chroma key background was both behind them and spread out under them, blue paper if I remember correctly. (It was more than 10 years ago...)
The main reason these videos look bad is that I used a low resolution capture program to dub them from VHS. them. And then, of course, we're looking at Flash video...

yeah it looks old, good work some of the color sampling for those older formats were pretty bad
