looking at the Heath Ledger pencil scene really makes me realise how far technology has come in about 50 years. Where will we be in another 50???? We miss you Heath and thanks for the good work.
@4tt1 There were 2 Batman serials (a series of short films that told a continuing story & would be shown weekly at a theater before each feature film- every episode would end in a "cliffhanger" prompting theatergoers to return) produced during the '40s (one in 1943, the other in 1949). Unlike the 60s Adam West TV show, the serials took themselves pretty seriously. Needless to say, with their poor special effects & stilted acting, they were not nearly as much fun as the "in-on-the-joke" West show
what episode is 0:30 - 1:45? Lol. It looked a little wrong with the way Batman was pulling Robin off that wheel. I love the old batman. It's hilarious. I watch it every day after school when i get home from school. It puts a smile on my face
@whaowman This show used to enrage me as a kid cos I thought it was soooo dumb. BUt now I realize it was always meant to be a comedy. It was made in the age of Andy Warhol, where Kitsch and Irony were the new rage. In its way it is the ultimate hipster show. You can't top it.
Batman and Robin did the exact same thing. But that movie considered as worst Batman while this show considered as a big part of Batman universe. I mean, what's so special about this show? Well, I think Bat-credit card would be funny if Adam West used it.
@whaowman I think the problem was that the Batman & Robin movie tried to be both campy fun, and a legitimate blockbuster action flick at once. Without fully committing to either style, it achieved neither effect successfully. Besides that, the theatergoing public was already accustomed to serious Batman films by the time B&R was released. Not quite "Dark Knight"-serious, but definitely more serious than "It's the hockey team from hell, Batman."
@whaowman The show was pretty close to the tone of the comics at the time, but the writers of the series realised that the comics were kinda silly, so they played the silliness up and turned into a comedy. I'm sure Adam west understood that, because what REALLY makes the series funny is his total seriousness while saying really, really ridiculous dialogue. ^_^
@klippit I don't agree with that but check out the twilight zone episode entitled ' Eye of the Beholder" . The woman's doctor name is Bernardi played by William Gordon. Now this guy when I first saw the show I thought was Adam West's voice because they sound exactly alike. After watching the episode blog back and let me know what you think ....you2uub
